Another Wonderful Wario!

I am an adult who has played and won all 4 Wario games. This one is a little different. You must go through all the levels in a pyramid and collect crystals, coins, a cd (which you can listen to in the sound room), 4 jewel pieces which are in treasure chests, and the hidden treasure. At the beginning of the level you will enter a vortex. After you find the above items, you must find Keyzer (a key shaped bird) and the special switch. When you jump on the switch the timer starts and you have a limited amount of time to return to the beginning of the level and exit through the vortex. If you have collected Keyzer, you can unlock the door to the next level. After you have collected all four pieces of the jewel in all four levels in a passage, you must fight a boss. This is where the coins and crystals come in handy. After each level, for 5,000 coins, you can play a mini game and collect medals. The mini-games are baseball, hopping over things, and roulette with Wario's face. All are fun. With the medals you can buy an item in the item shop on the way to meet the boss. The items will do damage to the boss which can make your job easier. Wario has all of his usual moves, ie jump, grab, swim, roll, dash, smash, stomp, and with the help of friends he can get fat, turn into fire or ice, and fly. However, he not invincible. You must also gather hearts for health. When you lose all health you go to the beginning of the level and lose all items. I really enjoyed this game. The only complaint might be that it was too short. It could have had more levels. Although I must admit, I have not yet found all of the items, so...keep playing!

A whole new M(W)arior World, more like a puzzle challenge

This game is amazing, especially to me, because I did not like Wario Land and the Mario games have been done to death. Wario, who is a bigger bullying version of Mario offers a whole new game to play. Rather than Mario who jumps on enemies, leaps to punch blocks above him and collects mushrooms and fire flowers to power-up; Wario uses the direct method, ramming straight through enemies, blocks and collects hearts for energy. You can even pick up enemies to throw them. So what makes this game different than a Mario game? Because a Mario game was simple, where you go right and find the end of a level. With Wario's land, each level is a miniature maze, where you enter a level through a portal where you must then find four pieces of a stone, which are scattered in the level, then you must find the key. They key is unique, because they key is a bird who's beak is the key and it actually flies behind you and bigger enemies can steal the key and hold it hostage. You can leave the level, but the key is needed to get to the next level. To top it all off, you can't just finish a level, you must find and activate a bomb! The bomb then sets a timer at the top of the screen for you to exit the level by. Each level is very detailed and the graphics are completely different, such as a Desert, a Haunted House, a Lake, a Raining Swamp, Paradise, and a Sunflower Field to name a few. To make sure you don't get bored, there are coins, jewels and gold to collect, in which with all of this cash, you can pay to play mini games, like Roulette, Homerun Derby and Wario Hop. The graphics are great and Wario is full of tricks so there is great gameplay.

Overview of Warioland 4

This game, being the fourth installment in the wonderful Warioland series, is a must have for this holiday season. This game takes advantage of the Gameboy Advance' 32-bit graphics processors. The Graphics are smooth and the characters move around so much more natrually than in the previous games. The sound is also quite good, with added speech from Wario, and some typical Wario music (Although it is better because of the GBA's capabilities). There is also 2 difficulty modes for beginners or ol' Wario veterans. This game has virtually endless replay value, with a myriad of secret areas and treasures to find. This is an excellent game. Therefore, I dub it the best platform game in existence (besides Super Metroid for SNES).

This Wario game is by far the best of them all especially on GBA. It is very challenging and has hard bosses butit is loads of fun. After you beat the four main levels which each have four mini levels and a boss each, you go to the final golden level. Sometimes it gets frustrating cause you can't beat it, but for all you Wario fans you'll love this high quality and fun game.

Great graphics, fantastic gameplay, great fun!

Warioland 4 is a great platform game. The graphics are jaw-dropping and hilarious. The levels are intricate and the puzzels are somewhat challenging. But most of all, it's just fun to play. The action is fast and the scrolling is fluid.

This is one of those games that really reminds me how far ahead the Gameboy Advance is from the Gameboy Color. Leaps and bounds! (...)

Itsa too easy.

I love this game, and Wario is the only character who has a worse Italian-American accent than me. There are cool mini games, my favorite being Wario Home Run Derby. And the game music is pretty good, It's also cool that you can hear Wario talk.

But I beat this game in an hour and a half, without any codes or maps. It was a little too easy for someone who had no idea what he was doing.

I'd buy this game anyway, maybe I'm just a great gamer, but this game is probably one of the best games on GBA right now.

Side-scrolling, platform-jumping excellence!

Wario Land 4 (a.k.a. Wario Land Advance) is an excellent example of innovative gameplay in a genre that has pretty much been left in the dust by current next generation consoles. I love the 3D graphics and gameplay that the GameCube, PC, PS2, and XBox offer, but playing a 2D platformer brings me back to the days of frustratingly good fun that the original Super Mario games of the NES and Super NES era. Sonic was great on Genesis too. While these characters have made superb trasitions to the 3D realm in most cases, there is great gameplay still to be had in the 2D world of Wario Land 4. The level design is truely creative and involves thinking to get through. There were several instances where I was reminded of how I felt the first time I played through the 2D Mario games. Specifically when I discovered a hidden room. The game is very addictive. It can be beaten in a couple of days, but the time you will spend with it will be very good. Wario is a great anti-mario. He is not totally evil, just morally corrupt, and for this reason he is a great addition to Nintendo's unchallenged character library... If you own a Game Boy Advance, don't pass this one up. By the way. If you are thinking about buying a GBA, and are still deciding, get the SP. I have owned both, and the GBA SP is well worth the additional money. Playing Wario in the dark is fun indeed.
