A Must Have Game!!!

Before you buy games for GBA, just remember that it's a travel system meant to keep you entertained on the road, don't expect a PS2 quality game on this sysem. Now to get to Wolfenstein 3D. Adding to what I said above, Wolfenstein is a wonderful game that any gamer would love to play. It's not a run around game where all you do is shoot people, you are trapped in a puzzle type of maze place, and you must escape by finding the way out. The graphics are about as good as they get on the GBA, and the sound is just ok, but that really doesn't matter. This is not a boring game, and I am highly reccomending it for anyone who owns a GBA.

This has to be my favorate right next to Doom and Quake.A game that gets as realistic as fps's do.The only problems are there are no stairs or ledges,4 weapons, and levels get too maze like and are impossible to beat.

Music?

Great game, a bit choppy. It's missing the greatest thing from the original PC game, however: THE MUSIC.
IN the instructions booklet, it says one of the options is "sound Control" so you can "Control music volume"?...

Wolfenstein 3D is definitely worth your money and your time.

Admittedly, Wolfenstein 3D is primitive compared to later standards of First-person Shooters. But, if you love First-Person Shooters at all, you owe it to yourself to play the Granddaddy of them all. Seriously.
Castle Wolfenstein is like a big maze that you have to navigate your way through, with enemies around every turn. Your biggest objective, most of all, is to make it out alive. With over 60 levels of First-Person mayhem, you know you're going to be awhile at this game but it'll be time well spent. Trust me.

This was one of my 'dream' games I hoped would come out for the Gameboy Advance. Now, if we can just sweet talk them into bringing Spear of Destiny out now....we'll be all set. ;)

Anyhow, do yourself a favor and check Wolfenstein 3D out. Live the game that started it all....

Wolfenstein 3D , one of the greatest games (if still not one of) for PC. I remember myself playing Wolf3D sometimes all night, and now I can on my wide-screen GBA! No offense to the 4 man original iD team, but this game is better than the original. 56 more levels, slightly better graphics, and a helluva lot more Nazis to blast. I do, however, agree that the "M" rating is a bit extreme. Swastikas are sometimes offensive, but RtCW was released wasn't it? And it isn't banned in Germany yet, so I say give it a Teen rating. That way I can buy it myself.

One of the best computer games now on the GBA!

When I first saw this game what got me hooked was that I grew up on this game in the 90's. Then as I looked down at the rating I was a little shcoked to see that it was rated "M". First thing that came to my mind was that it was because of the blood, but belive me there is so little blood that it is no where near being an "M" rated game. When I went back to the 90's I rembered that this was probably rated M for the refrences to the german nazi's. As stated before in another reveiw almost ever corner you turn there is either a swlastica or an image of Adolf Hitler. If you are not deeply offended by these images then there is nothing to worry about, since these pictures do not play a big role in the game (as there are no references to them). All in all this really is a 5-star game.

BORING!!

I liked this game when it first came out on the PC, but this version [***], the graphics are terrible making it hard to see what you are doing. I wish I never wasted my $$ on this one, I played it once and I'll never touch it again.

Wow, this is killer...

I grew up on this game in the early 90's...I can't believe it was implemented so well on the GBA platform. Everything is just like the original, although the graphics seem a bit better (!) This is absolutely the best 1st person shooter for GBA, definitely a "must have".

Decent port, but it ain't the same without music.

This is, as you can probably fathom, a port of ID Software's 1992 classic Wolfenstein 3D, scaled down and put into cartridge format for play on your Gameboy Advance.

First off, I want to say that the studio who ported it did a pretty good job overall. The graphics aren't as clean as they were on my IBM 386 back in the day, but I can forgive that kind of thing because the game feels the same. You move at the same rate, shooting feels the same, the only thing missing as far as gameplay goes is a keyboard.

The levels are faithfully reproduced- every secret door is where I remember it was, which is always kind of fun for those looking back with nostalgia. It contains all 6 original episodes (although you'd think that, barring some sort of legal entanglement they could have included its sequel Spear of Destiny).

There are two central problems with this port which are the main reasons I can't rate it higher. First, you can't save your game wherever you'd like (which you could do in the original). You can only save at the beginning and end of levels. Nothing sucks more than to make it almost to the elevator when an SS guy comes out of nowhere and guns your last 10% of health away. My other problem is the game's lack of music. Hey, what gives? The original had some classic MIDI tuneage courtesy of Bobby Prince, who also scored the Commander Keen games, DOOM, and Duke Nukem 3D. It's just not the same. Ever tried watching Star Wars wthout the music? It's like there's a key element missing.

A good port, but incomplete without music and frustrating without a save-on-the-fly feature.

Another good game turned into a BAD port

It seems every time a company decides to make a GBA port of one of their classic games they always manage to screw something up-See Sonic The Hedgehog for the GBA. Wolfenstein is no exception, unlike previous versions this one does not have a map screen which makes it very easy to get lost and start running around in circles and the sounds sound like they were ripped by recording a door opening with a microphone and putting it into the game. If you listen to it with headphones you will know what I mean you can hear plenty of what is called the analog hiss during the sound effect. Also the sounds dont seem to fade away as much as you move away as they do in the SNES version. Also the biggest problem of all I saved for last, the game will crash without warning Ive played this game five times or so as of right now and I have had it crash on me twice. Once it even crashed on the developers logo screen. As a result youll be trying to get thru every level as quick as you can not worrying about whether or not you find everything because the game may crash. If you have the SNES or PC version stay away from this
