Worm's!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 6 / 6

I bought the last one for Game Boy Color and the only reason it was bad was because it did not have the ninja rope and the GBC was not powerfull enough to handle the graphics that worms required to be a good game. With the Game Boy Advance power and the extra wepons Worm's world party is the best strategy game on the GBA!

Worms... Back AGAIN!

This is a great, and complex game that i, 14, and my 17 yr. brother can play as well. As of plot, theres not much, but there is a ton of strategy. Now personally, i love RPGs (roleplaying games) like baldurs gate and icewind dale, but MY computer, in my room doesnt allow them so i decided to get something more basic. let me tell you worms isnt basic its an in depth game play for almost all ages, excepy youngster. You play as 8 worms, for example you start, or the other team does, every worm at a time, off and on. you can use things like uzis, bazookas, longbows, kamakazis, teleports, and much more. the point is to kill the opponents worms, or knock them off into the water, ultimately killing them as well. Oh, and by the way single player kicks because the computer is hard to beat.

This is a cool game. If you a big fan of Worms or just a newbie you should buy this game! I have a few problems with this game, hence why I'm not giving it 5 stars.

1. The Ninja Rope and Bungee are a tad funky...
2. The Petrol Box and Bomb don't really do anything.
3. Not much levels or teams to create.
4. The worms don't have any animations while waiting.

Hey, but this a fun game!

No save, are you kidding???

This game is really brilliant, graphic is good, gameplay very good and worms voices are so sweeeeet! But there is one thing I really don't understand. It's saving. Here's none!!! Really. You can't save your teams, team statistics, worms names etc. But that's not all. The hugest problem of saving /rather not saving/ is, you're not able to save your progress in single player option. There's no chance, I will be the best in deathmatch. I have to start every time again and again - no fun, trust me!! But if you want to play good multilayer game with your friend, this's the right game, but if you want a game to play it only by yourself, buy other one (fe: warioland 4, rainbow six:rogue spear).

The Worms games are among my all-time favourites, combining great multiplayer action with a good dose of strategy and humor. When I bought a Game Boy Advance, Worms World Party was among the very first games I bought, as I know how fun, addictive and replayable these games are.

Worms World Party was pretty much as I expected it to be on GBA, with a few surprises, both negative and positive.

The graphics, menues, weapons and options should be very familiar to anyone who has played a Worms game before, and are easy to learn regardless. The graphics are fairly good, and is basically a low-res (the small screen doesn't really need higher resolution) version of the Worms 2/Armageddon/World Party PC games.

I was surprised to see that there is no option for creating new teams, nor creating your own names for your worms, a feature I enjoyed in the PC-games. Granted, there are quite a number of teams included that can be modified with the random name generator, which contains very many names, so it's not a very big loss, but still such a feature is missed. The fact that you are unable to save your progress and modified teams is quite irritating, but not devastating.

The in-game controls are easy and fairly well done, considering the lack of a mouse on a GBA. Your worms can walk, aim, change weapons, fire, make four different kinds of jumps and you can scroll around the landscape and pause the game, all with the limited number of buttons you'll find on your GBA, and I find the controls easy to remember.

The ninja rope and the bungee are kind of unstable and hard to use, which I found irritating, considering I use these tools a lot on the PC-version. It does not matter too much, though, as your worms can jump further and fall longer (without taking damage) in this version. Besides this, the rest of the weapons and utilities in the game seems to work fine, with the possible exeption of flame-based weapons, which only burns for a single turn, and seem quite useless compared to most other weapons. And I have not been able to make Prod function properly, but that might be my own fault.

The landscapes comes in 20 different shapes, each of which can be used with any of the terrain themes (ie. pirate, medieval, cheese, warzone, music etc.) The result is a quite varied choice of maps, although far from as costumizeable as the PC-version.

In the single player menu you can play a "Quick game", which will put you in charge of a team against a CPU-controlled team, using stadard options on a random map. Alternatively, you can play a "Deathmatch", where you pit the team of your choice agains an increasingly harder series of battles. Finally, you can play a "Mission", where you will have the choice between 8-10 different missions, testing your skills in Worms World Party in varied, narrative battles.

In the multiplayer menu you can stage a fight between 2-4 teams, each one either human controlled or controlled by the CPU. Here you will have a number of options regarding turn length, weapon availiability, sudden death, mines, crates etc. Use this option to play against your friends, or to play a game against the computer where you define the rules.

Worms World Party is a great timekiller and a very fun multiplayer game that also can be enjoyed alone. The costumisation possibilities and the timeless gameplay makes for a game you can pick up again and again, without growing tired of it. Granted, the game has a few minor irritating points, but wether your an old-school Worms fan like myself, or a newbie to the World of Worms, I'm sure you'll find the game very enjoyable.

Recomended to anyone, especially people who likes turn-based strategy games and/or has a sense og humor.

i got this game b/c the computer version is so much fun but i wanted it for GBA so i could take it anywhere. unfortunately, it is not even close to par as other PC to GBA games. there is only one background music track(which gets annoying), it's much harder to judge power of throwing/firing weapons. overall it's still alright but don't order if you're expecting only slightly less like the PC version.

I can't wait, I have played worms 2 on my computer for a such a long time, now that I know that Worms World Party is coming out I will get it for sure. With the weapons from Worms 2 and new never before seen weapons, probably better game play and exellent graphics for a GBA game this game will RULE!... But if you did not like Worms 2 don't expect something out of normal. My opinion is that it will not only be a good 1 player game but also one of the best multyplayer games for GBA. I think that this game will have a 80% chance that it will be a REALLY fun game. Cya Later, Boys.
