THIS GAME SHOULD ROT SIX FEET UNDER

1 Rating: 1, Useful: 7 / 8

Worst game ever. Don't let the other reviews fool you. These people who gave it 5 stars never even PLAYED it. -_-;; They're just yuyu fans like me who looked forward to this game before they got it. I purchased it because of all the 'good' reviews. A poor choice for me and at that time, it cost me 30 bucks. >:|

It has mediocre graphics, the same songs are played over and over again, and it's rather boring. The controls aren't that great either.

Scarier Than Demons, Seriously

Want a game so bad it will give you nightmares. So bad your eyes will bleed. So bad you'll swear your GBA is possessed by a demon. Well this is that game. Now listen, I like Yu Yu Hakusho, I think it's a great story and a spectacular TV series. But, this game stinks. Lets begin by talking about the graphics. The people look like they escaped from an old Atari 2600 game. The enviroments look decent at first, then you realize that all the places look exactly the same. I must have gone by this couch twenty times. And then there's the audio. The music is painful to say the least. But the music isn't nearly as bad as the actual gameplay. You're basically fighting or playing stupid mini-games like finding someone's homework. Most mini-games will just involve following your compass from location to location. Then you get to the fighting. This is the stupidest part of the game. First of all, everyone wants to get you. Demons, school children, old ladies, everyone. And they aren't exactly geniuses either. The fighting isn't deep or involving. Basically just mash the B button and you'll be fine. So, the game isn't fun at all. If your a die hard Yu Yu Hakusho fan you probably already have a copy. As for everyone else, you might want to play a game that doesn't suck so much.

Well, the graphics were pretty good, but the game was way too easy. I only died twice and that included the fight using Genkai.
It definitely wasn't worth the amount I paid for it.

wow peopla are blinded by their love for their anime

the anime was good but what about the game?
Just an average hack and slash running around with music that has been looping for six hours straight. i dont recomend it save your money and gaet something good and, if your gonna write a comment actually play the game first.

2 SHORT!!!!!!!!

Yu Yu Hakusho is my favorite anime next to Rurouni Kenshin, so I thought that a game would be a real good idea. This game was really fun, the storyline was great (it's from the show, duh!), and it was really exiting. But it was WAY 2 SHORT!!!!!!!!

Im a long-time gamer, and it usually takes me about 20 hours on average to beat a game, but this game only took me 3 hours! When I it ended, i couldn't believe it! How could it end like that!? I think that this game is not worth buying, but u should probably rent it to kill a few hours. Buying it is really not worth the money, take if from me, it wasted three hours of my life!

The storyline was awesome, like I said, and the grqphics are so-so. The charecters aren't really detailed, and they're kind fuzzy 'round the edges, but the backgrounds were really detailed.
I really didn't get some of the attacks that the charecters had, as a big fan of the tv show, I can gaurente that Genkai's best attack is NOT the spirit shotgun, and that there is no such thing as the 18 slash jagan (whats up with that!?). The storyline was kinda twisted by the makers, to suit their needs, it's like they were halfway through making this game, but then they kinda just gave up and put it on the shelves.

Overall, I'd advise you not to buy this game, and before you rent it, make sure that you aren't exactly hoping it will give you something for you 2 do for the next day.

Game was too easy

The game was ok, but..... the fighting was too easy and i beat the game in about 5-6 hours and learned all the attacks and beat the tournament thing where you fight with Genkai in about 27 minutes because i died twice...

It was a good game... it should have been longer

Yu yu hakusho is a great anime! I tought that yu yu hakusho would make a great game, it was a pretty good game while it lasted. It only took me about 4 hours to beat and to tell the truth, i'm the kind of gamer who never beats anything, i stink, games are supposed to take 20 hours, they take me 35, or i just plain can't beat it at all! anyway enough about my stinky gaming self... I'll rate yu yu hakusho in a few catagories for you:

Gameplay: 3/5

It had some decent gameplay, i like how you can switch between characters when ever you want to, but there were hardly any puzzles and it wasn't challenging enough... it was sometimes hard to hit enemies with your attacks.

Story line: 4/5

It's yu yu of coarse it had to have a good storyline, the only problem is that they only included a little of the series.

Graphics: 4/5

the graphics were o.k. The characters didn't look that much like themselves, but the enviornments were detailed.

Lifespan: 0/5

This game is SHORT trust me, it doesn't matter if your a 15 year old gamer or a a 8 year old gaming newbie, this game will take you a maximum of 7 hours, and if it doesn't then your pathetic, no offense.

If you can, rent this game, it's not worth the money that it costs and if you think that it is, then you have too much money.

From a die-hard fangirl

Okay, I'm a die-hard,obsessive-compulsive Yu Yu Hakusho fan. I heard there was a Yu Yu Hakusho game and therefore, my Kurama-fangirl instincts told me to go buy it.

How incredibly disappointing.

As a biased fan, even, I started playing the game. When this originally came out, I still had a Gameboy Advance, and after about an hour, I'd spent so much time following this tiny compass at the bottom of the screen around this huge town area, my thumb was sore, and I hadn't even gotten to fight anyone yet.
You don't get any other really good characters until later, and the first few things you do get really old after a while, because you can't save until after you finish the first few mind-numbing tasks. If you die by doing something stupid, you start ALL over again. I kept dieing at some point, and I went through the same few scenes so many times, I literally know the dialogue by heart.

The graphics are nothing special for a gameboy game; really, they are about average at most. You get really tired of them after a while, and you have the same background scenery about 80% of the time. (I swear I walked past this one couch as Keiko about 30 trillion times.)

Either way, while Yu Yu Hakusho is a great series to get into and a great manga as well, I would not recommend the game.

(And if I see Kurama die anymore, I might have a breakdown...)
