A Great Game, Not as Good as I Expected

3 Rating: 3, Useful: 2 / 3

Burnout 2 is really fun compared to other racing games. The graphics are good, the traffic makes it challenging, and crash mode is a big plus. But I was looking for something with a little more depth. The cars don't have real names. They are just called muscle car, sports car, and so on. The music is all the the same (wannabe rock), and 4-player mode would be nice. For big racing fans this game is a thumbs up, otherwise, it's just a good rental.

One of the best racing games ever!

This game had really good graphics and really made things look real. I didnt give this game a five because everything wasnt exactly as good as it could have been. This game was still a really good game I think that people that are at the age of 12 or older would find things game interesting.

This game is no joke.

There is nothing childish or unbelievable about this game. They took 189 Mph cars, put them into this game and put them in huge levels with an extreme risk of crashing(which is completely realistic and actually fun). every time you play this game you will get a rush and play it with surround sound and a wheel and you will be engroosed with this game. Crash mode is so unpreccedented and will be the first thing youll want to try. with this game you will not be ignored.

AWEOSOME TITLE...

Like most I loved the first burnout, but had several problems, the biggest being it was just too short. Burnout2 is a completely different story, oncoming traffic is slightly easier to weave thru, the timer does not seem to run 50 feet b4 the next check point, and all the extra modes, tracks, and cars are amazing! The crash mini game is perfect for groups and/or people who have trouble driving or not big racer fans. Burnout2 is by far one of the best games yet produced for the gamecube.

One of the best arcade racers EVER!!!!!!!

Man, As soon as I heard that BO2 was goin' to be realesed on the Gamecube I peed my pants! O_O :p So I bought it off the shelf and I opened the Disc case and started playing this AMAZING game, Here's the Review:

Graphics:The graphics are one of the best on the GC, The cars look cool and have that shiny look to them, The levels are so amazing you'll think it's real-life. Seriously, one of the best Graphics on a Racer. 9/10.

Sound:Good sound effects, I love hearing the Engines roar, But the music sucks...I advise you to turn it off. 7/10.

Gameplay:BEST.PART.OF.THE.GAME. Is the gameplay of course! The gameplay in this game is *B R I L L I A N T* It's so cool to unlock the custom cars and fill your boost bar, The controls are easy too, Even my 7 yr old brother can play it with ease. 10/10.

Replayability:Tons of replay values. and I mean TONS...Going through all the Championships and unlocking all the cars is one hell of a job, Oh and theres time trial too. ;) So it'll take a LONG time to finish the game. 9/10.

Overall:

Graphics:9.
Sound:7.
Gameplay:10.
Replay Value:9.

The Good:
~Lots of cool cars.
~Tons of replay value.
~Normal and reverse levels.
~Crash mode.
~Nice Graphics.

The Bad:
~Crashes get a bit boring to watch after a while.
~Time trial sucks.
~Some crash levels are the same.
~TOO.HARD.
~Filling your boost bar.

Rent or Buy:A definite buy.

Good Game, A Few Things I Didnt Like But Not Much.... Fast Game With Par Graphics For A Gamecube, I'd Also Suggest Buying The Logitech Force Feedback Wheel And Accessory Pack. A Few Extra Dollers But Well Worth It.... Im Not A Big Fan Of Racing Games And To Be Honest I Only Got The Game Because I Wanted The Wheel But Im Glad I Did, Trust Me When Your Go'n 120 MPH And Miss A Pile Up By Half An Inch To Win, You Wont Want To Stop Playing

The best racer on Gamecube.

Let me start by saying that this is the best racing game on Gamecube. Much liek the original Burnout, you race through traffic at insanely high speeds. This time, getting boosts is easier, so the game is more enjoyable. If you played this game on PS2, you will know what to expect, and everything is perfectly in tact. The game is faster than Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2, but also more enjoyable.

Unlike the first game, Burnout 2 has tons of modes for you to play in. There is the crash mode, where you try and cause the most damage. There are lots more races, a better selection of cars, and the option to play as cops. The game does get hard, but not to the point of frustration. The graphics are phenomenal, without any slowdown. Crashes are once again awesome.
If you own a Gamecube, you must buy this game.
