I love it, it is wonderful to hav my Sims casting spells and enjoying magic. I have been a practicing witch for a good number of years and alot of the stuff is actually right on target - spell ingrediants(sp) etc. They act out my fantasies of turning someone into a toad!
love it, love it, love it

Best Yet!

The Sims Makin Magic rocks. You can turn people into toads hypnotize people and more. It's really fun and easy to install. It's one of my favorite games and its REALLY FUN! I reccomend this expansion pack. It also has a Sims 2 sneak preview CD which is fun.

In the final expansion pack to the what seemed to be neverending The Sims series (The creators are discontinuing The Sims expasion packs to head twards the future with the official release of The Sims 2 in August 2004)I could not guess how the creators descided to go out with a bang? After all, The Sims has grown to become one of the most influencial games out there, and even though this is not the end, it still marks the end of the beginning... so they HAD to go all out right?

With the introduction of magic spells amd creepy worlds, Makin magic is by far "going out with a bang" Speaking as someone who has bought The Sims, House Party, Hot Date, Vacation, Unleashed and now Makin Magic (I am hoping to add Superstar to my collection this week and I will probably cave in and buy Livin Large before The Sims 2 comes out)I will tell you that this game will add a new dimension to your Sims experience.

There's an all new town -- Welcome to Magic Town where you can find all your Magic Needs-- as well as participate in Duels and Put on Magic preformances (amoung Many other things)If you get enough MagiCoins you can even move into one of the eerie Magic Town lots... Just like living in a regular neighborhood.. except the neighbors are freaky and wierd stuff is ALWAYS happening (I cant even tell you the stuff that's magically grown on my lot)

There's also the ability to cast spells. Want to turn that neighbor into a frog? (watch out he may get to you first!) want to MAKE the love of your life love you? Or atleast be friends? Want to make a spell to turn you into a 'Beauty or a Beast'? How about a zombie spell? Want to turn that garden knome into a gardener or that plastic flamingo into an exotic dancer? This is all possible as is almost ANYTHING in Makin Magic.

You can even own a pet dragon! But beware.. if you mistreat him at any time your house will turn into a raging inferno!

These new objects-- Characters-- Skins-- It's all there for your enjoyment! This is bound to occupy you until The Sims 2 is released!

NEED TO PLAY MORE! MU HA HA HA!

I LOVE the Sims, I am not immature like some kids who go "EWWW!" when somebody kisses, I mean like get real! This game is awesome! My mom even likes to play it! We have all of the Sims games! I think it's fun but if you have a immature or under 13 child I wouldn't get it for them! The whole magic thing is awesome! You might want to get one of those stratigie guides like I have, they come in handy especially when a spell goes wrong and you don't know why or you want to know what a spell does because your to stupid to figure out the riddle. BUY IT, IT FUN!

A Great Game!!!

Next to Unleashed, this is the best Sims expansion pack. I love the new items, going to Magic Town, getting sent on quests, and how with the Hole in the Ground you can go to Magic Town without having to take the whole family. Well, that covers what I do like about this game.
Things I didn't like included how difficult that ridiculous toadstool race with Mara is. I've only won against her twice, because she plays dirty, disappearing and then reappearing beside a toadstool. Also, I don't know if it's a problem with the software or what, but I can't buy diamond dust anywhere. Lastly, it's now really tough to make friends. This is another downside.
Despite these cons, this is a great game worth your money...if you're a Sims fanatic like I am!

The Makin' Magic expansion pack is great! I Got this game because I just loved the idea of my sims having magic! The best thing about this expansion is not only for the magic, but also for the fact that it has a patch that fixes all the bugs in all the expansion oacks that is installed on your computer. I guess this maxis' solution for the bugs that has been invading the previous expansion packs. All I can say os Maxis did a good job with this expansion pack. So, WATCH OUT COZ THEY'LL PUT A SPELL ON YOU!

THE BEST EXPANSION PACK EVER!!!!

I'm so glad I don't own this expansion pack, but I was "fortunate" enough to experience it at a friend's house. I found it extremely silly. The Sims is already pretty fake (as in most expansion packs really don't offer a whole lot as it seems to in the store), with expansion packs building on this characteristic, but Makin' Magic overdoes it completely. Maxis and EA probably came out with this expansion pack after seeing such a huge response to spells and fantasy and magic in Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and the like. In a way it clashes with Livin' Large. Both of them have "halloween" themes about them and the supernatural and blackmagic occuring. Through hearsay, the only things I can remember from the top of my head found in Makin' Magic is the ability for Sims to own a vineyard and something called MagiCoins. Also, potions can enable your Sim to be a rockstar instantly as well as make any Sim fall in love with yours.

I truly don't recommend this. It's as good as cheating by getting everything you want through brewing potions and such. It took me long enough to get addicted to the Sims, but this is so exaggerated. My Sims collection stops at Superstar.
