This is one of my favorite expansion packs out of The Sims. It is incredibly creative, entertaining, and engaging. In this expansion pack, you have a wand, and a new kind of currency called MagiCoins. You have to earn or buy all kinds of ingredients with your MagiCoins to make new spells and charms, and the better the ingredients, the cooler the spell or charm will be. You earn MagiCoins by performing in Magic Town, or running errands for vendors that sell different things. There are tons of new objects, including a new maid that you can buy, named Bonehilda (she's a skeleton with a maid costume!). And guess what? You can buy a dragon egg :-D If you don't already have this game, go out and BUY IT!!!

This is the coolest!

Having been the owner of every expansion pack ever made so far, i am totally excited about this one coming out. The prices are okay, (only being 10 dollars less than the original sims) but they are definately worth it. I think will wright is doing a great job and i cant wait for this one to come out.

It is here! The latest and last installment of The Sims '1'. The Sims Makin Magic! The Sims 2 will be released in January and check it out because it is great as well! In Makin Magic you can cast spells and hexes on fellow sims, you can clean up plates with a flick of the wand, you get 150 new items, you get garden gnomes cleaning the garden, you make and perform charms and you can even teleport (magically) to Magic Town, where you watch shows and buy herbs and spices for your spells! There is so much to do when you have magic powers!

Awesome!!!

The Sims enter the Wizarding World

The Sims Makin' Magic Expansion Pack allow us to play around in the wizarding world. I loved this idea but found one drawback to it. Some of the spells backfire when used on other wizards. It seems like everyone within Sim Town is a witch or wizard! So it kind of defuncts a few spells. Other than that, I found myself having all kinds of fun. Once you get your logic skills up, you can perform on stage and make quite a bit of magicoins. You can own a dragon (watch out! if you get a mean one he'll burn the place down! Otherwise they'll just eat all your flowers so be prepared to give just enough attention to your egg replant you rosebed quickly), if you live in Magictown you just might get lucky enough to have a magic beanstalk grow! Turn people into toads, cheat in front of your wife and black roses begin to grow! The magical world can be quite odd and strange at times...

With the popularity of the Harry Potter series, this addition to the Sims lets Simfanatics join right in brewing potions and making charms. Even your children can get in on the action. And should a wary muggle try and look at your recipe's? Not to worry they'll get a nasty little shock warning them to be gone!

I couldn't be happier with this addition to the Sims series, there's so many little easter eggs within this expansion pack that finding them is half the fun. After all this is magic! I know I grew up dreaming I could do magic, I'm sure I'm not along in that - and viola! Now we can! ...well...sort of -sheepish grin- our sims do our bidding and we command them to do magic - yes...that's it!

Anyone who enjoys the sims series, houdini, the potter books and/or movies should not miss out on this expansion pack. Two words - it's Magic!

Makin' Magic in the treasury at Maxis

I am a big fan of the Sims and own all of the expansion packs. All of them have had success and has added something very unique to the game. The Sims: Makin' Magic Expansion pack is supposedly the last of the Sims, that is, until the Sims 2 is due to release March 15, 2004. I had wished that Maxis' last addition would be the use of cars, bikes, and motorcycles. To me, this last expansion seems like Maxis' afterthought before they come out with Sims 2, which they are promoting a lot. Makin' Magic does not appeal to me because there is already magic in some current expansions. Maxis should be reducing the price of this expansion since it doesn't deserve to be called one.

This game is awsome

I have one question for you: Can you turn lawn gnomes into gardeners? Of course not! So why can you do it on The Sims? Who knows... just a "ploy" to get people to buy the newest expansion pack. I don't know about you, but I want my Sims to be normal people, I don't want them having flamingo butlers. I think adding things like casting spells is going to lead Maxis' business into a downward spiral in sells, 'cause I'm not buying this thing!!!

This is supposed to be the last expansion pack made for the Orginial Sims. This is all us Sims fans have to tide us over until the release of The Sims 2 around March 2004.
