There are just so many delightful game Nintendo has been able to create for one of the most successful game systems ever, the Gamecube. Arguably, to create a smash game that was brought up from the Nintendo 64 era is quite amazing. That has happened with the successful Mario Party franchise from the N64 era. It was one of the surprising games ever developed back in the 90's. To do it again for the Gamecube was quite a surprise. While so many additions have been added, the Gamecube debut was very well put. It just added on so much from before, nothing but the roll of the dice was missed.

Mario Party 4 for the Nintendo Gamecube, the Gamecube debut consists of so many outrageous boards, and games to uncover. The game also adds some new details including a tougher story mode, and a whole bunch of new features, new boards like Bowser's Party, new mini, and mega mushrooms, and 50 great mini-games to unlock, such as Mario Speedwagon. The graphics look much better than they did for the N64, and the gameplay has improved nicely. Yet, with all the hype, there are a few disadvantages the game has. One of them is the games take a little longer to load up, unlike the N64 versions which were a instant. Another disadvantage is that it might not seem as challenging for Gamecube players, as much as Mario Party veterans have matched before.

Still, Mario Party 4 makes a great virtual board game feel for anybody who wants to roll those dice on the Gamecube. While you can right now only find this game used, it is still a great purchase for anybody wants to play. It doesn't add up solo, but if you're playing with others, it is a real party to match.

Fun & Enjoyment: B if you are playing solo; B+ if you're playing against someone

Overall: B 1/2+

I can't say how good this game is in comparison with other Mario multiplayer games, but this one is great. If you are unfamilar with the format: Players roll dice and move around a board in search of stars, like a board game without a fixed finish line. (The game ends after a predetermined number of rounds.) After each round (in which each player moves once), there is a mini-game that involves every player. These are great for keeping things interesting: just rolling dice might get boring without the mini-games, and if you win a lot of them, you have a better chance of winning the big game. There are several ways, in fact, to earn stars, and it is sometimes surprising to find out who wins. Skill and chance are balanced, so that no one can coast to victory, but your little cousin can still give you a run for your money. Don't let the kiddie stuff fool you: this is a great game to play into the early morning hours (when you should be studying for your electromagnetics exam).

the party's still bumpin'

The first Mario Party was a lot of fun, but it needed some major improvements. You'd think with as many Mario Party installments as there are, they'd make those improvements. We're still waiting. Now Mario Party 4 features some pretty neat and clever mini-games. A few can be really fun. But they also have a lot of those annoying button-mashing fests and others that are just plain dumb and ridiculous. Any game that relies on pure chance is NOT one we hardcore gamers like to see. Another problem is the elaborate setup of the boards. I don't like playing the boards because they take so long, and in Mario Party 4, there's a lot of unnecessary board interaction that wastes valuable mini-game time. Next to the first Mario Party, this is probably the best in the series. But that's still not saying much. Oh, and lastly... realize this is one of those games best played with at least 3 players. No less.

Mario Party 4 is a waste of $

I bought my 5 year old this because it was a multi player game.
This game is like a board game, the players rolls the dice and move in turn. It is extremely boring and slow moving. If you want to play a game like this any $ board game would be more fun. I was not able to sit thru it for more than 10 min. The mini games are a bit less boring than the actual game, but they are not enough fun make it worth torturing yourself by playing this game. I dont understand how anyone gave it more than one star.
DONT waste Your $ on this game. Your money can be much better spent on - probably anything!

This game is my faviorite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got this game for christmas and i'm not veary good at most games but I can play this game.It is like a board game, but at the end of each turn you play a mini game that consist of different skills. It makes it more fun because your not just loosing all the time. Another good thing that you can practice the mini games before you play them.I liked this game a lot and had fun playing it!!!

Just like my title says this game is another success. I just got it yesterday and man is it fun! The new mini-games are really fun. You just won't want to put this game down. The boards are really fun and new. Each board has a different theme. There is a casino, tropical island, theme park, castle and more. There is new items you can use on the board. I really don't want to give anything away so if you want spoilers find a different review. There is so many new things. The only thing I wish is that they would add some new characters to this series. This is one of the few games you can buy and be guranteed you bought a good game! So if your still not sure about the game rent it!

This was a great recovery from the terrible Mario Party 3! I"m so glad they took out that stupid Die thing and that evil star. They brought the charcters back to normal and now playing lots of crazy mini games. I like this game because of the characters reactions and boards. This game is fun with other people so join up with friends and play!

Another classic from nintendo. yeah it's basicly just an nintendo 64 update with a facelift, but that doesn't take awy from the fun. A great game for a group of friends when you are tired of playing goldeneye or halo. Yet another reason nintendo is still the best company going
