I just finished this game!

The bloppers are very funny. The final cup looks very awsome. The finalist computure in the last cup is very annoying. The game looks great but strikers is looking better. The intro looks very awsome and it uses the progressive scanner mode. Here's waligiu weakpoint, go to the edge of the closest side to you and then fire the tenis ball on waligiu side and if he hits the ball on your side, hit the ball across your side and far from the computure.

Not fun in the long run.

I returned Mario Tennis to the store for credit. I'm a big tennis fan, and I was hoping Mario Tennis on Gamecube would be a fun version of tennis that would capture the essence of tennis combined with the impossible fantasy occurences that can only happen in video games... sort of like how the SSX series fantasized snowboarding or the Tony Hawk series depicted skateboarding. I loved Mario Golf so I figured this should be equally well done.

Mario Tennis was not what I thought it would be. Sure enough, it was tennis, but the repetitive gameplay interruptions got old really fast and I knew of no way to turn them off. Basically, you have these super moves where the character engages in one of two canned animations (that take 3 to 4 seconds) to hit the ball in a spectacular fashion. These super moves are done about every three exchanges and it got to where I just wanted to play tennis without the stupid time-stopping animations interrupting the game every 15 seconds or so. It stopped being a game after awhile; very little skill is required to play this game. Those super moves were useless as the opponent can and will do an opposing super move to cancel your move out. Against the computer, you basically ended up exploiting the AI by volleying at the net and doing the same exact pattern to win or else you end up playing baseline to baseline indefinitely.

After playing games like the Virtua Tennis series on Dreamcast and Topspin Tennis on Xbox, I'd have to say that I was really disappointed by the shallow tennis mechanics of Mario Tennis. On the bright side, very young kids may enjoy this game as the learning curve is extremely short.

you can never get tired of this

this is one of the best games for the gamecube. like once you start playing you cant stop playing. this game has 3 modes, tourney, 1-4 players, and special modes where you play fun games. there are like 20 characters to choose from. my favorites are the koopa troopas. there are new things called a power shot that you can turn on and off. the power shots help you hit the balls harder and so you can hit the tennis balls. if you could rate it over 5 stars i would rate it 10000000000000000 stars. this game is up to 4 players and is really fun.

awesome

the first mario tennis was really fun, but you would only buy it for the 1-4 player mode because there was nothing really to unlock. In Mario Power Tennis, you unlock a ton of stuff. The only problem is for one, you unlock the everthing way to fast, after that the game gets horribley boring, unless you have a ton of bros and sises this game just gets plain boring.

I have advice and more stuff.

Use a different character like mario, you just didn't hit it close enough for a offence shot, or you hitted the wrong buttons. the offensive uses A+R or just A when it is fully charged. And the shots don't need to be charged for the little trick I mentioned earlier. The lighting cup is annoying in team mode. It would be awsome if there was a mario tennis revolution released in 2007 or 2008.

Terrific Tennis

Fun Fun FUN! (here's the good and the bad)

THE GOOD-Bowser ups are a lot of fun to do, and when you win, your player does a 30 second celebration! The stages are very colorful and creatve and the minigames are also fun to play with your pals!

THE BAD- for once BOWSER isn't bad, but some things are. Some stages like LUIGI'S MANSION and DELFINO PLAZA, are the most annoying stages to begin with! The character limit is not good to begin with either. And the graphics are a tad cheasy.

OVERALL! THIS GAME IS A BLAST! :)

To Whomever shared an image sharer, major props! Not really a review, but I haven't played the game, but I had to give major props to the person who put a DOA image as the only image for this game! You rock dude!

Quite Delightful, Nothing to Dislike

This game, in my opinion, is excellent. When I first saw the intro of the game, you could say it was love at first sight. I was positive that the game play would be both addictive and enjoyable - and I was right! This game is capable of (and will) entertain you and your friends for hours. And let's not forget the graphics either. The graphics in this game are just as delightful as the game play.

Final Thoughts: I truly cannot see any cons in this game. "Mario Power Tennis" is a must-have for any gamer ... period. As Joe the Shy Guy would say, it's a classic!

This game is bloody addicting. That, unfortunately, is all I have to say because it pretty well sums it up.
