I like this game because it has good graphics and you can play with your friends. The interesting thing about this game it now has power shots, its much better than the 64 version. The negative side its basicley its the same gameplay over and over again. Eventualy you will get tired of it but this game is good I recomended.

This game is awsome!

It can get very crazy in item battle. The introduction looks very awsome. The game looks great. The mini games are very nice, like the battle against mechakoopa and coin collecting. Though, it can get annoying in team mode on thunder cup. Other than that, it is a awsome game. It is one of the best sellers.

Looks okay

I would give this 3 out of 5 from the look of it....Mario Power Tennis doesn't seem like the best name, they should have just kept it as Mario Tennis or something. However, I must say that the graphics look really good, and there seems to be a lot of different modes to choose from. However, I think it will turn out to be not as good as the original Mario Tennis for N64. Nintendo seems to be overusing Mario and his little "gang" of friends.
The items seem a little weird to me, and some modes seem pointless, such as one where you try and practice against a Blooper that has 8 tennis racquets. Boo has a special move where he splits into a lot of Boos, which sounds cheap unless the other Boos don't do exactly the same things as the normal Boo.
I suggest that if you liked Mario Kart: Double Dash!! A LOT then maybe you should buy this game. For the gamer who tends to like the better Mario games and is unsure about the sports area, maybe you should rent it first. If you just love shooters and RPGs and other categories much more than Mario sports, this game is probably not for you.

The funnest tennis game returns whith nintendo's characters. The characters have their great powers to make it more exiting. Boo is the best ,and has the best power shots. He needs one good shot and you are dead. There is also a movie that starts when you turn the game on. Leave junk like spongebob behind and be a fan of nintendo not disney. The movie of mario inthis game is better than micke's twice upon a christmas. BOO RULES!

Mario Power Tennis serves up faults, not winners

____Mario Power Tennis is the newest installment in the Mario Tennis series. With the aid of the gamecube's enhanced power over the n64, it is a given that the graphics in Mario Power Tennis are better than its predecessor for the n64, however many other areas of this game are inferior to the original.

____Mario Power Tennis has character, but lacks strategy and tennis feeling. In Mario Power Tennis it is impossible for a player to hit the top of the net, and have the ball skip over. One of the funnest aspects of the original Mario Tennis for the n64 was getting the ball to hit the top of the net and lightly bounce over, delivering a drop shot that often won me games.
____The fact that hitting the top of the net cannot be accomplished in Mario Power Tennis shows that the physics engine is inferior.

____Mario Power Tennis also has far fewer courts and less players than the original Mario Tennis. Mario Tennis for the n64 had 17 different courts (after unlocking the courts which required the n64 transfer pack using the gbc version. Peach court, Waluigi court, etc.)Mario Power tennis has around 9.
Mario Tennis for the n64 had 20 characters(with transfer pack) Mario Power Tennis has a total of 18(including hidden characters)
Players that are not in Mario Power Tennis, that were in the n64 version include Birdo, Toad, Baby Mario, and donkey Kong Jr.(now replaced by Diddy Kong)

____One feature in Mario Power Tennis are the Power Shots. Each character has a defensive shot, which is over-powered, and an offensive shot which is often over-powered. The Power Shots make the game's characters imbalanced, as some characters have better Power Shots than others. To use use Power shots, the player must charge his or her raquet during a few volleys. When charged, the player may use a power shot. I feel this charge period is not nearly long enough, this results in players witnessing the same cutscene for the same power shot up to 40 times during one match. The players should be limited to using only 3-5 power shots per match, or at least increasing the charge time required for a power shot. The Power Shot issues would be forgivable if the game's designer's allowed the player to turn off power shots in tournament mode, but the option is not there.

____The tournaments would have far more strategy and resemble tennis much better if power shots were not included. Mario Power Tennis, with it's power shots and gimmick courts, feels frentic like the Playstation game, Pocket Fighter; while the original Mario Tennis for the n64 felt as if it was an update of the classic pong in a tennis atmosphere.

____Although most of the game is inferior to the original. Mario Power Tennis can be redeemed in the diversity of it's characters and diverse strengths.(Yoshi-speed,Bowser-Power, Wiggler-defense.)Some of the mini-games and gimmick courts are actually very fun. Such as the mecha-bowser mini-game and the Mario Bros. Classic court.

____Overall I give the game 3 stars out of five.
