Battlefield 1942's versian of Star wars

Im thinking this games gonna be like battlefield 1942 but with at-at's, Tie fighters, Xwings, stormtroopers, Rebel marines ect. Check out the screen shots they have a story of their own looking very much like battlefield 1942 and Battlefield vietnam. Guessing from the shots that theres gonna be character kits like trooper, scout, engineer and pilot. someone please give a review after my review to what you think this game is,
-Thanks

It's all about the marketing, my fellow gamers.

Battlefront could have been released about a year ago, and it would have been great. As it is today, when compared with the likes of Joint Operations, it's fair.

The graphics are decent, but by today's standard, they look dated. The sound is fine, if not a little buggy.
The gameplay... well... let's just say I wish they could have combined Galaxies and Battlefront to make a complete game.

I'm a big Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising fan. I like everything about it. Is it perfect? No. But damned near close. And here's a shocker... I've never played Battlefield: Whatever-you-want-to-call-it. Some of my friend have played the entire Battlefield series and said Battlefront is almost as good as the StarWars mod someone came up with for BF:1942. Pretty sad, huh?

So why the let-down? It's all about the marketing. The hype around the release of the screwed-up DVD's was just enough to help sell a bunch of toys, lego's, and yes, computer games that were probably ready to go out the door a year ago.

I'll probably see the "last" movie next year, if I'm still in the U.S., but it'll probably be the last of my money that George will see.

Until LucasArt's decides to release a WindowsXP/Longhorn version of X-Wing Fighter or TIE Fighter, I think I'm done with StarWars games. And to think, LucasArt's cancelled sequels to Sam & Max and Full Throttle to push this dated piece of crap?!?!

I bought this game because I'm still a stupid StarWars fan, but I'm not sure how much longer that will be the case.

Pretty good

This game is great. You get to drive all the vehicles in star wars too. The best part is that they let you know how many enemys are left to kill. You also get to choose from between two story modes and diffrent kinds of soldiers. This is a great game and anybody would love it.

Good, but not great.

Now, don't get me wrong. I love Star Wars just as much as everyone else -- but being a fan of online gaming, choices are key. There isnt "20" different classes that you can be. There are 7. And only 7.

Each team has a normal grunt, a sniper, a rocket launcher, and a driver. The only major differences is the driods get a duel-lazer blaster rolly droid, and the other 3 teams get rejects with rocket packs from TRIBES.

Its a good game, but I am so dissapointed when they over advertise. Hey -- if having a different color lazer, a different uniform, and name make it different, more power to you. But still, I felt a little shortchanged on the classes.

That is all, but still a solid game.

Very Disappointed

As said several times before, this game is weak. The ONLY thing going for it is the Star Wars theme. There's no real strategy and the classes are poorly balanced. What's more, the air vehicles have a terrible control interface. For real multiplayer FPS action, go with UTK2004. It has a ton of game types, much better graphics, much better mfr support and a huge fan base and community support. Get UTK2004 and the Star Wars mod from fileplanet.
Furthermore, the installer is buggy (documented on their web site). This product clearly missed the quality assurance cycle.
Star Wars Battelfront blows and I'm sorry I paid the $$ for it.

Worst game

This game was a let down. At first it was kinda cool, because of the characters I remembered as a child. But after 30 minutes that wore off, and it wasn't even close to BF1942. They did nothing to expand on the gameplay.

The weapons have no feel of power, just blah... I didn't have high hopes, I was expecting a game to be at least as good as BF1942 or Call of Duty, but it didn't come close.

SWEET Game!

Pros:
Awesome action
Realistic movement
Overall feel for the battlefield
Good AI
Fun multiplayer

Cons:
Price
Bugs while playing (ESPECIALLY in multiplayer, but live with it)
AI is sometimes a bit unbalanced or stupid
Not a really good variety of weapons or units
No central plot

Overall a fun game, especially will give you many hours of play online!

This is one of the tighest games ive played in years, it also have practically no learning curve. in only my 3rd game ever i had 30 kills and 7 deaths. anyone can get good at this game.

there are two teams, and you can be on the empire or rebels. each team has 5 different classes of soldiers. the empire team even gets the ever so infamous darktrooper from the expanded universe series. must buy! go get it now!

In any opinions, I like this game so much. Maybe for some people it won't be fun. But, in a way, whoever plays any games like Star Wars, but they don't think this game is fun, I think they are wrong but this is just my opinion. I like the game because you have lots of diffrent soilders and you could learn about weapons.(except lazer swords.)

The first time I played this game, I thought this game was boring. Then when I go a little better, I started to like this game. I learned a few weapons and the diffrence between two diffrent types of guns. The tanks and the other vehicles, looks cool to me. Before I played this game, I didn't know a lot about weapons. I just knew about other things than weopons.

Sometimes, I don't want to play Battle Front with my brother. And sometimes, i like when my brother is in my team and sometimes, I like it when he is in the other team.

Has most of the same flaws as battlefield 1942

Playing single player will really tax your computer, because it is basically running a server and bots plus rendering your game. It crashed my computer 3 times so I haven't tried single player again (I have never had a computer game crash my computer before).

Multiplayer is basically exactly like Battlefield 1942 except a little funner because you get of the star wars characters, vehicles, and scenarios. But it has the same flaws. Lots of lag, camping, team killing, spawn killing (even the invincible jedis spawn camp), etc. On most servers you feel like you're moving through molasses due to the lag, and enemies suddenly appear out of nowhere. The radar doesn't work very well, which really stinks because you are basically fighting with no peripheral vision or good directional sound cues. A huge AT-ST walker might be right next to you and you won't know it.

I know its supposed to be Star Wars, but being based on BF1942, the fighting isn't realistic at all. Your missiles won't hurt anyone unless it is a direct hit, your gun won't kill someone until you've hit them many many times (good luck since there is always at least a few people on the servers who are experienced with BF1942 and know how to dance around). Funny, I don't recall WWII soldiers being taught to wiggle back and forth when confronted with an enemy to avoid dying. That's the problem with BF1942 and Battlefront's non-realistic settings - too much camping and dancing around.

I would have preferred a multiplayer star wars game that plays more like Medal of Honor or Call of Duty to this BF1942-like game.
