I have been on the lucas arts website(www.lucasarts.com) and it gives a lot of info about this game i have also been to www.gamespot.com and found lots of info.

1.Yes it is like battlefield 1942 in that it has classes and different armies. The Rebel units will be made up of the soldier, marksman, pilot, wookiee smuggler, and vanguard. The Imperial side will have the stormtrooper, shock trooper, pilot, scout trooper, and dark trooper. the Republic forces will consist of the clone trooper, jet trooper, clone pilot, clone sharpshooter, and arc trooper. Finally, the Trade Federation units will be made up of the droideka, super battle droid, assault droid, droid pilot, and recon droid.

2. Battlefront will include over fifteen different vehicles for players to use on the battlefield. These vehicles will include both air and ground based vehicles from the movies. The following vehicles have been mentioned in press releases/interviews:

AT-STs
AT-ATs
X-Wings
Y-Wings
Speeder Bikes
Rebel Snowspeeders
Republic Gunships
Jedi Starfighters
TIE Fighters
Imperial Shuttles
Trade Federation Tanks
Tauntauns
Other vehicles from the movies are expected in addition to the above. These vehicles will also have capabilities from the movies - a Republic Gunship will be able to hold six people, and Rebel Snowspeeders will be able to launch a tow cable out of the rear of the vehicle.

3. The planets in star wars battlefront are:

Hoth
Yavin
Tatooine
Naboo

Geonosis
Kamino
that is all i know about star wars battlefront

Don't believe what C.Cain "acidburn" wrote

as I can see, C.Cain hasn't visited the battlefront web page, it clearly states that they will NOT charge multiplayer gaming for PC users, and XboX & PS2 will be charged with their respective services (XboX live! e.a.). anyway, this game has the potential of being the best starwars game ever!

If you're not convinced already, read this...

I really hate it when people write reviews before the game comes out. How can they possibly know whether it's good or bad? Well you may wonder why I am writing this then. I'll tell you in a minute, but first I'll have my say about the game.

Star Wars like you've never expeirienced before. After years of watching and drooling over the epic battle scences of the movie, you finally get to experience it. I can't tell you whether this game is going to be good or bad. I don't want to sit here and explain every little detail about it the developers have released, go to ign.com for something like that. But what I can tell you is that this game has the potential to be the greatest Star Wars game ever created.

Now, why am I writing this review that has so far just wasted your time? Because if you are not convinced you should buy it yet, you need to go to the swbattlefront.net forums and download the trailer "thejeditraitor" made. If that doesn't convince you to buy this game, nothing will.

Have fun out there!

The Best StarWars Game ever!

I played the demo of this game and it was amazing! The Endor level had everything the movie had, and then some, including Dark Stormtroopers(Jetpack troopers) Rocketlaunching Troops for both the Rebels and Imperials, and little Ewoks that can sneak attack you. You even can be Wookies (Chewbacca). The controls are fluid and gives you the feel of being in the battle. If you want to try this demo, Buy the Official Playstation Magazine Oct. Edition. Its worth your money.
In 19 Days you can rule the Galaxy as Either the Separatist Forces(Battle Droids, Destroyer Droids, Geonosian Starfighters), The Republic Army (Clone Troopers, AT-TE), Rebel Alliance (X-WIngs, Millenium Falcon), and the Imperial Forces (TIe Fighters, Stormtroopers, AT-ATs)

Brilliant, loads of fun, fast paced GREAT single player A.I.

First off if one didn't realize this had similarities with Battlefield then you should have read the reviews or even the back of the box. I'm a huge Battlefield fan and although the concepts are similar the game play is unique due in part to the weaponry. I was also impressed with how fast games loaded and zero lag while playing due to the software. I loaded this on my old 1.5GHz with a newer Nvidia card and it screamed. To play any of the Battlefield games, which I'm not knocking, I usually need to play on my newer 3.60GHz. I'd also like to add that although most of the first person shooter games today are designed for the multiplayer experience this is the first shooter of this type that I've played with an A.I. is absolutely fantastic, beyond anything I've ever seen, in single player mode. I've had trouble making the distiction sometimes between the games I've played online and those I've played in single player mode the A.I. is so good. Perhaps the days of dumb Bots are over, this game proves that. This is well worth the money and you'll get months of game play out of it, I know I will. I haven't played a "Star Wars" genre game since Darkforces due to the fact that Lucas Arts have been so focused on the Jedi nonsense for so long. If you like blasters this is the game for you.

Awesome Shooter

I wasn't planning on picking this game up yesterday, but after I picked up the Star Wars DVD set, I just had to get it. I'm an impulse buyer, what can I say. But I am so glad I did buy it.

I got a new spiffy PC a few years ago and the first thing I wanted to do was buy and play FPS online. I got Unreal Tournament 2003, then Return to Castle Wolfenstein, then recently Doom 3. Those game were great, but there not nearly as fun as this game is for me. I'm a big fan of the movies, and it's so much fun being able to fight in all the big battles from all the films. You can play in either the Clone Wars or Galactic Civil War period. The battles are so big, just as big as in the movies. It's really easy to pick up. Unlike the past shooters I've played, I don't get killed instantly. I also like being able to pick where you want to be on the map, and when you die you can change your character or even which side of the fight you want to be on. The vehicles are fun, my favorite are the AT-AT's on Hoth. It's fun riding in the vehicles with other players, and shooting at the enemies with them. It's also cool to have characters from the movies on your side, like Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker. In the first battle I played, Count Dooku snuck up on my and got me. This game is so much fun. Everyone should check it out. A must have for fans, they'll appreciate it the most.

this game is purely amazing! i think lucasarts has a winner with this one. when i went to the store, there was a semi-long line of people waiting to buy this game. the graphics are purely amazing with my radeon video card. it has that movie feel to it! i like the assortment of vehicles in this game. the different armies are also great! i find one of the hardest maps to conquer is bespin and probably endor. the game has a neat challenge when you enable special characters to play on your team. you will have dooku or mace windu play for you (as well as luke and vader) on some maps. they are almost impossible to kill but they help alot. one thing i found awesome is the AT-AT in the game. it is very powerful and when you turn your bass up on your speaker system, u can hear it's footsteps come down hard!
i highly recommend this game if you can get your hands on it! it is a hot item right now!

Overall the game is a good first person shooter. While there are 4 different factions, for the most part, they are the same in terms of units. The vehicles are where it's at.

Imperials: I hate to burst your bubble, but the At-At sucks. Really, it's incredibly easy to tie them up, and they are slow, and reload extremely slowly, not to mention it's hard to step on people, and snipers can call down orbital strikes to kill the At-At easily. You're better off with the At-st, but that is much easier to kill. As for the speeder bikes, 3rd person is mandatory, or expect your ride to be real short, and real fiery. Aieral combat involving TIEs is alright, nothing really outstanding.

Rebels: The sniper apparently is the only one that can zoom twice, everyone else's sniper can only zoom once. Rebel vehicles are pretty junk overall.

Republic: AT-TE is awesome. Slow, but packs power, also you can have your buddies jump on and man the turrents. The Gunship is alright, it's got turrents as well. The tank thing is like a fast powerful jeep. Republic, like Imperials, have jump jet troops, the jet is pretty cool, allowing you to move very quickly across the map. Big problem though, when fighting destroyer droids (droidekas), your AI buddies charge him and unless they got emp gernades (or the jet pack guy's gun), they get murdered, I had 10 guys go down to one destroyer. Not the brightest clones. Aieral combat is just like Rebel vs. Imperial.

CIS (droids): The tank for them is pretty sweet. Fast and powerful. Pretty much the same as rebel, except you get destroyer droids, which kick lots of butt, if used properly. Problem with this is that unlike everyone else, you can't fly or pilot anything. All of the other units for all other factions can fly/pilot all of the vehicles. Also, Destroyer droids roll, which is kinda cool. Also, you get this roller car thing that is fast, and has decent weapons. The Spider tank from Episode 2 is here, but I think it sucks compared to the Republic's weapons.

Notes: Squads are powerful. the key to call guys for backup is key to this game.
Headshots are not always headshots. I plugged a rebel with 3 headshots from a sniper rifle before he went down. then I hit his buddy with one in the same place and he went down. There's not alot of consistancy with snipping.
Did I mention there are ewoks and Tusken raiders? You can kill them too.
Winning a game means either taking all of the control points or killing all of their troops and reinfocements. I have turned the tide of battle by killing 7 droids and putting the balance of numbers back in my favor. You can change the battle even if it's going badly, unlike some other games.
Only 10 maps, so you get tired of it quickly, online at the moment has poor connections for servers, most servers are 1R, or 3Y.

AI Issue: your fellow soldiers are dumb. Really dumb. they will STAND on a active 'nade till it goes off. They have thrown 'nades at their own feet and blow themselves up. They don't follow your squad orders most of the time. They rush Destroyer droids who have their shields up. They stand around idly while a sniper picks them off one by one. They crash their ships into you sending your fighter/bomber/transport in random directions, mostly into the ground though. The AI needs alot of work, and while it is better then most games, it is still pretty bad.

Overall the game is pretty good, but hardly worth paying full retail. See if you can find a coupon, or promotional credit, or just wait for it to drop in price.

Finally a Star Wars game that actually brings the WAR back

At last Lucas Arts has made a Star Wars game where, in the end, you do not end up becoming a Jedi. Now don't get me wrong, all the rest of the games are good, but playing a game to become a Jedi just gets old after a while. But not with this, finally they have made a Star Wars game that actually puts WAR back into the name. Experience the battles in the Star Wars movies like never before!

Yes, this game is just like Battlefield 1942, and the engine seems to remind me of it, but the game is nothing like BF1942. The main menus are much more spiffy looking, and the graphics much more crisp. The graphics are smooth as silk on both my machines at their maximum resolution (one Radeon 9800 at mobile and one geForce FX-6800 GT). Although I have had a few problems with hardware surround sound, I must say that the sound effects in this game are just like what you get in the movies. I am also sure that they will patch any kind of hardware difficulties within the next few weeks, too.

Just like said in other reviews, you can pilot ANYTHING (and I mean anything). Take a speeder bike through the forests of Endor, ride a tauntaun across the icy plains of Hoth, or (and the best thing to do) ride a sluggish AT-AT crushing down those Rebel dogs!

All in all, if you are any kind of a Star Wars fan, or just a fan of good first person shooters, then this game is perfect for you. But beware, if you want to play a game where you get to become a Jedi...look in other places.

This is a great game. You can be droids, clones, rebels, or imperials (stormtroopers). Each team has 5 basic types of units.
Regular, missle launcher, pilot, sniper, and special. Although you can't be a jedi, you can fight along side them or fight them. They block all shots, so land a vehicle on them, run them over or use a grenade. Here is the jedi each team gets.
Imperials-Darth Vader
Rebels-Luke Skywalker
Droids- Count Dooku
Clones - Mace Windu
Pros
Great Graphics
Great Gameplay
Great Sound
Great Everything!

Cons-Takes a while to install
You need a fast computer.
I give this 12 out of 11!!!
