This game is sweet! It's like Halo and Rainbow 6 put together. I had a lot of fun playing through it. It only has three missions, so the game seems short, but they're long missions with a lot of levels in them. It would be sweet if another came out, but it have to hold up to the same play, maybe make it as fast and have as many levels as battlefront.

One of the BEST LucasArts Games!

Amazing. That's really the only word I can describe it.
The story line is intertwined during the Clone Wars, starting you off on Day 1 of Geonosis. From there one, your team, Delta Squad, goes off and their thing.
But doing their thing isn't just a quick and easy task.
LucasArts did a very high quality job in game-play, AND story. Accurate in how Delta Squad was fighting in the Clone Wars, this game has great re-playability.
I've just finished playing it for my 5th time.

Dialogue is very VERY good, as well as the sound quality. Music is of amazing quality and so are the SFX.

I highly recommend this to any Star Wars fan as this game will have you sucked in just like that.

SUPER good.

This game is one of my favorite games of all time. It was SOOO good. the game play was great and it had a variety of guns and weopons you could choose. My favorite one was the knife that come out of your hand when you punch. any way the graphics were amazing and the game play was to. the only thing I did not like about it is that it only had three places to go. Geonosis, A republic ship taken over by trandosions, and kashyyk. And each one is very fun but super long for the small amount of worlds you can go to. at the beginning you are a clone in training. also the beginning has very good step by step insructions so to win the game you dont really need to look at the manual. (trust me I won without looking at the manual.) I am sorry but im running out of ideas to say but any way you get the idea. THIS GAME IS SUPER GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! you have NOT lived untill youve played this game. BUY IT TODAY! you wont regret it!

An intense, yet short experience that perhaps to its credit leaves you wanting more.

Republic Commando represents both some of the best and worst qualities of games based on popular licenses. On the positive side you have a fantastic experience that immerses you in the Star Wars universe in a way that has not been done before in Star Wars games. You play as part of one of the republic commando teams sent in to deal with particularly delicate situations. You are just a number, with the other squad members being elite clones much like yourself. However, this does not mean they are devoid of a personality. Thankfully each of them has their own personality and distinctive voice work, adding some life to your almost constant interaction with them. The graphics are fantastic, with everything from the game menus to the level design showcasing the sleek sense of style that is to be expected from a game that plays like a quick paced Hollywood blockbuster.

You move from mission to mission while the game's linear storyline plays out. Throughout the missions you will direct your squad mates to take defensive positions, storm a room or man a turret among other actions. You will never lose your squad mates as they are an integral part of the story. At worst they will simply take enough damage that they will be indisposed until you or one of your squad mates can provide medical aid.

While the negatives are small they are nonetheless frustrating, for one thing this game should be a lot longer than it is. Just as the gameplay has you hooked the game nears its end, a shame considering that it probably won't get a sequel or expansion. Another frustrating aspect of the game is the heavily scripted nature of the major events that unfold throughout each mission. Essentially this guarantees that there is no replay value whatsoever to this title. This does not detract from it being a game one should experience at least once but it does guarantee that you will probably be reselling this title or waiting a long time before the experience is fresh enough to play through it again.

I am not particularly familiar with the Star Wars universe and at best I feel indifferent towards the license but this is one of those titles worth picking up despite your opinion of the license. If you don't mind a short experience it will arguably be the best First Person Shooter based on the Star Wars license you've played.

One of the Best Things to Come Out of the Star Wars Prequels!

With the memories of the god-awful Star Wars prequels slowly fading from memory, Star Wars Republic Commando seems like every thing that those movies were supposed to be. Now the Star Wars Universe has already made many jumps to the video game realm and several to the First-Person Shooter (or FPS) genre. Republic Commando is a FPS game set during the Clone Wars, the player taking control of one of the elite clone troopers fighting to for the republic. Right now you should know that this is not the standard Star Wars FPS, this game has no jedis..... let me repeat that NO JEDIS,so if your looking for a game like the Jedi Knight series you will be disappointed. If though your looking for an awesome squad based FPS you will enjoy this game.
Commando fits nicely in with the rest of the Star Wars Universe, the game play is fast paced without being over whelming and while playing you accually fell like you're a commander in chare of three other elite soldiers. The music is the standard Star Wars greatness, and the voice acting is superb with actor Temuera Morrison (who played Jango Fett, the sorce DNA for the clones) as the main character Delta 38. The controls of the game, like most PC games, is easily customizable and ordering the rest of your team is done with a few bottun presses. Commando can be a bit scary and some mild curse word are uttered but nouthing more than any Star Wars film. The one negitive thing about Republic Commando is that your left wanting more, although it is better to be left wanting more than to be left wanting less. Altogether though Republic Commando is an amazing game that feels right at home in the Star Wars Universe, just don't come expecting Jedis. NO JEDIS!

Worth every penny!

This game is great! The squad(Scouch, Fixer, Sev) is smart (somtimes even smarter than I am). This games AI is the smartest I've seen. In this game you don't have to spend all tour time worring that your teamates will stupidly go out in the middle of a cross fire or stand there while being shot at. Also the graphics are great! The sound track makes it sound like you are playing in a movie (it uses allot of the classic Star Wars songs in it) Funny one liners make gameplay very enjoyable. Their are only two downsides. 1) Your primary weapon uses up alot of ammo and barley packs a punch 2)Multi player isn't great but isn't horable. It consits of the normal Capture the Flag, Death Match, Team Death Match and Assult (sort of like capure the flag but with only one flag. All and all this game is awsome and a must have. It is definatly worth your money. SCOURCH RULES!!!!!!!!

Not particularly innovative, but worth the price

I'm not a huge Star Wars fan, though I enjoy the franchise. I picked up a copy of Republic Commando at the suggestion of a friend and gave it a whirl. It didn't blow me away, but it was still a lot of fun!

Not unlike the movies on which the license is based, this game plunders design ideas from many games in the genre. However, it plunders well, integrating these concepts into a relatively tight game that controls smoothly and is fun to play. As squad leader, I found the controls intuitive and easy-to-use; in general, most squad-control situations boil down to ``Squad, go here and do what makes sense,'' which is a perfectly reasonable design decision and one that allows the player to command the squad without becoming overly distracted from the firefight in which he or she is inevitably embroiled. One minor criticism is that I didn't notice any particular difference in the squad members---each is supposed to be a specialist at some task, yet they seem to be completely interchangeable. There is enough freedom in the encounter layouts to allow for a variety of strategies to work in overcoming each obstacle---more freedom for the player is always welcome. The Halo-esque decision to limit the weapons a player can carry adds to the challenge and layers on additional strategy.

On the issue of Halo---of course, as a first-person shooter for the XBox, Republic Commando cannot escape comparison to the console's standard-metric game. I found the game both more and less enjoyable than Halo; the squad control was an excellent dimension that Halo lacks (long have I wished to be able to tell my Halo marines to do something useful... or at least to stop running in front of my Warthog). On the flipside, the Republic Commando enemies feel dumber than Halo baddies, generally relying on the ``if it takes a million hits to kill it, it's a challenge'' school of FPS design. Republic Commando also lacks a co-op option for multiplayer. Co-op is hard to design (especially given the constraints of the already-existant squad-based system), but it adds so much to a game. Given that the ending screams ``sequel'' louder than a howler monkey, perhaps a co-op feature could be added to the next game.

It's a fun romp, and worth the price of admission. Not a breathtaking game, but it definitely has its moments. If you've ever wanted to command a tightly-woven team of efficient warriors into glorious combat---especially if lasers were involved---this is for you.

way better "squad commanding" game than SOCOM US Navy SEALs

the best "squad/team commanding" game so far. the graphics are amazing. the jokes that your squad says during the missions are sarcastics and really creatively funny. you have the feeling of a real military operation since everyone in entertainment wants the feeling of realism nowadays.

one of the feature that many pro-top-reviewers (like gamespot.com, PCGamer, EB Games) liked a lot is the one-touch squad command. at first i felt, like many, one-touch command? after the 1st mission, i understood how it worked. and believe me, it's way better than in SOCOM US Navy SEALs (worst "commanding" game i've ever played). your AI teammates obeys or even do actions according to the situation better than anybody would have expected (unlike in SOCOM US Navy SEALs were your guys stays in plain sight when ennemies arrive or doesn't act according to the situation).

there are only 3 big long levels, and as a big FPS player, i say the gameplay is long enough unlike others who find it short. the ending gives you a hint that there might be an expansion or sequel to it.

graphics, sound, and especially gameplay are too amazing.

What a great game must say. it's not as tactical as Ghost Recon. I would say it has similar gameplay to C&C Renegade but much much better. The graphics are great and so the sounds and musics. The story is OK, but the best of this game is the lot of fun you get. I started playing and just couldn't stop playing for hours. Must say I prefer Real time strategy games more than FPS, but since i got this game i haven't play my favorites RTS games again. Giving orders and working as a team is much easier and fun than other squad based games like Ghost Recon. GR is by far more challenging game and i recommend it too.
