Surprisingly good

I am an FPS fan and enjoyed some of the earlier Turok titles, so I was initially excited about Turok Evolution when magazines began to preview the game. But when it was released, the reviewers were brutal and gave the game rather poor marks. So I ignored it - until one day I found it on the bargain rack, and decided to give it a whirl. What a game! The variety of weapons available to the player, and the intelligent AI, made for a great experience. It may not be the best of the FPS titles out there, but it is definitely WELL WORTH the discounted price it now sells for. Now, in all fairness, here are the things that buyers should know about in advance: - very high gore factor - incredibly LONG load times - very challenging levels, often very frustrating I can see how these last two issues frustrated reviewers into giving the game poor marks. But once you can look past these issues, you will find a very fun game at a pleasantly affordable price.

I really enjoy a game that challanges me mentally and this game does just that. Each level requires different skills and weapons. I have spent many hours playing this game over and over.

Can anyone tell me why this received a Mature rating? Was wondering about content, language, gore, etc. Thanks.

Don't get me wrong. This is a fun game most of the time. But there are problems. What are they? 1) You don't get to automatically keep weapons that you may have had in a previous level. 2) The save system is too restrictive. 3) The weapons are nice, but you frequently run out of ammo, and the game is stingy about how much ammo you will find in any one level. The weapons are fairly interesting. The Swarm Bore is almost painful to watch. You almost feel pity for your enemies. The shotgun is lame. It's inaccurate and slow to reload. 4) My one MAJOR beef with the game is the lack of a good rapid fire weapon. The few rapid fire guns there are run out of ammo way too fast! The flying levels are top notch. They are very similiar in feel to Starfox or Star Wars: Rogue Squadron. The graphics are good, but some backgrounds seem a tad blurry and low res. The sound is excellent and the music really gets you in the mood to shoot something. The control is solid, but not excellent. All in all, this is a solid bargain bin game. It's worth no more than $15.

Great Game, but Too Expensive

This game gets extremely difficult but all the while fun. If you're into gore then you'll love it. If you're not, well you will still like the multiplayer and the weapons which are fun to mess with. You will also be surprised with how smart the enemies are. This game is not a fifty dollar game but I would pay $29.99 for it. I give it 3 stars. I like this game!

This is a great FPS game! Insane weapons and very expansive levels can be found within this game. it's true that the cntrol system is odd, but it's easy to pick up on, unless your a bit slow on the uptake. The overall graphics arent that great, but the blood effects are so awesome, and two or three cutscenes have insane graphics. But seriously, this game has the best blood effects that i have ever seen. I would, however, give this a four and a half stars if i could, because i dont like the fact that the bodies and blood fade away. but, i'm nice and i round my ratings up. If your an FPS fan, you'll know what FPS means, and you'll get this game

buy this if you wish....

This game is good... good graphics and good game-play, buy the controls are horrible, (they can't be changed), and there are not that many things to kill. (Only like 3 or 4 things to kill per level. sometimes more, sometimes not.)

Torok:Evolution The second best

This is one of my favorite Torok games. It has really good effects & graphics. The only thing is if you get the cheats for it, they are O.K. at first but after a while they seem to ruin the game. The multiplayer is fun if you have a little brother who keeps begging to play.
