Terrible Application of the License

1 Rating: 1, Useful: 30 / 37

First, let me state for the record that I'm a die hard Star Wars fan.

I've been collecting books, games, movies, memorobillia, and props related to the Star Wars license for the last 13 years or so.

In that time, I've seen some good Star Wars products, and I've seen some bad Star Wars products.

I'm sorry to say that this "game" may rank as the worst I've seen yet.

I've tried liking this game. I really have. All that it's managed to do so far is raise my blood pressure.

The controls are sluggish, the plot is incoherent, the voice acting is terrible (and sometimes voices overlap each other...poor timing?) and the frustration factor is enormous.

What's even more galling is that I think the story concept for the game is good. The idea of a rebel-alligned merc and her sidekick droid taking on the empire is an intriguing one.

Unfortunately, you don't get the joy of exploration, because almost ever level amounts to being on rails...it's very, very linear. (Kill all bad guys in this room, and now you can open THIS door). The camera is so buggy and difficult to control that you'll kill yourself as often as the enemies do...and this lack of good camera control often means that you'll have difficulty completing some puzzle-oriented objectives, because you have to stand in EXACTLY the right spot, looking in EXACTLY the right direction, to be able to hit the magic button that allows you to trigger a response you need...all while trying to avoid enemy fire and prevent your own character from auto-locking on other targets.

I can't help but feel that this game might have been a lot of fun if it had been an RPG instead of an action title...but it could've been a lot of fun as an actioner if the controls had been appropriately responsive.

As it stands, I'd have to advise anybody to spend your money elsewhere.

Star Wars: Lethal Alliance is a great PSP title that will keep you entertained whether at home, or traveling. I really enjoyed the character interactions, and the graphics and music are excellent enough to keep you glued to the screen. The music I should note is dead on Star wars, and truly classic!

I recommend this game for all true fans of the movies, novels, and everything else that is Star Wars. Buy it now!

I'm a big Star Wars fan, so i couldn't miss this game :) The physical UMD and delivery were perfect. The video game is i think pretty cool and features some innovative combat combos. I would have liked the graphics to be better, considering it's on a PSP, and sometimes there are character rendering errors, but nothing i haven't seen elsewhere. The story is pretty good, better than i expected. Overall, i am very pleased and i don't regret buying Lethal Alliance.

Better than reviews stated

I believe this game is good. It is a lot of fun; and has plenty of interesting characters to keep you excited. The controls are simple and the fighting is planned; but the overall experience is fun.
I think they made this game for girls but I found my bf interested too.
Worth trying.

This game is an actual graphical success for starwars. A Twi'lek jedi who goes into bullet time when killing with a lightsaber or dodging enemy fire. Full of small puzzles that keep changing it from fighting to controlling your character under different circumstances. Oh and the main character is just angry. Get her close with a lightsaber and she takes the gloves off. I hope this was helpfull.

Surprisingly good!

Before I got this game, I did not know what to expect. Well, I have it now and can say that this is one of the best games I played, and I played a lot of them. In terms of gameplay, it is a very good third-person shooter with platforming, first-person and on-rails elements. In terms of control-it is the best game on psp. Really-perfect controls and lightning-fast camera that does not get stuck into objects! In terms of length, it is a medium-sized game. The levels themselves are short, but there is just enough of them to make you happy. It is also not a very expensive game, so-just go and buy it already!
