First two versions stunk...

This is the third machine that Auto Modellista has appeared for, the first being the Playstation 2 and the second being the Gamecube.

The problem is that both of the previous versions were more or less unplayable. Common comments were that it was like driving on ice, steering around a corner would make you spin out. Etc. etc. etc.

Don't get me wrong, Auto Modellista looks beautiful, the problem is that it plays really, really ugly.

Granted it is possible that Capcom will fix the control scheme before the Xbox version is released, but if they were going to do that they should have done it for the Gamecube in September (which they did not.)

For Xbox racing games you're better served with Project Gotham (and Project Gotham 2 will be out before A.M. is), Rallisport Challenge or Colin McRae Rally 3.

What ya talkin bout?

*Auto Modellista - XBOX"

I was very open-minded before playing this game. In fact, I was looking forward to the idea of a cel-shaded/cartoon looking racer...WRONG!!!

I really don't know where to begin.

Let me just say this game STINKS!!! It's like driving on ice! Really!!! You'll spend most of your time counter-steering. In fact, that's the only way to play this game. The cars only want to go left or right. There is NO straight. It may sound neat, but it gets old...very fast.

Then, for some unknown reason, the developers decided to put some kind of streaks or lines that shoot across the screen as you're moving. I think it may be some terrible attempt to create motion blur. It reminded me of jumping into hyper space in the original Star Wars movies. It's really annoying and looks awful!(not Star Wars...this horrible game!) In fact, it's my number one complaint, even over the driving on ice problem. These streaks ruin the look of the game and you can't really see any of the eye-candy because the streaks are so big and because there's so many of them. I'm serious, there's thousands of these streaks that completely take up the screen. It's nuts!!! Okay, I've got that out of my system.

Also, just for the record, there's no damage and it appears there is no street racing. The only tracks that I opened were race tracks. All the common tracks you've seen over and over in almost all the realistic racing games out there.

I was hoping for a creative street racer, in cel-shaded fashion, with colorful tracks, fast cars and lots of racing action but all I got was a piece of poop with not so colorful tracks and lame racing, if you can keep the car on the road, at best! This should have never been released to the public.

I GIVE THIS 2 THUMBS DOWN and the FIGURE...NO...2 MIDDLE FINGERS!
