Huge Let-Down

This X-Box incarnation of Conker is a Huge let-down. The N64 version is funny - sophomoric.

Why does the X-Box version psuck? Bascially its exactly like watching Pulp Fiction from NBC.

The graphics deliver, but as a game it's like the Church Lady has had her way with it.

My guess is someone at the gaming division of Microsoft tried to get it available for the X-Box and Then their Standards & Practices people went crazy Censoring everything.

The N64 version is actually worth buying an N64 system from eBay for; it's one of the few games actually worth more than it's original sale price... the N64 version that is

Is it on PS2?

I hope it's on PS2 as well. I loved BFD one and this looks even better. It just goes to show you a simple CD can create so much hope.Who couldn't like this game? I'll tell you the parents who think these M games are wrong. Those ignorant jerks can cram-it! There the ones causing all the problems in the world not paying attention to the real issues, like terrorism. Anyway BFD F***IN RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!

CONKER: LIVE AND RELOADED is a remake of CONKERS BAD FUR DAY -- one of the last games to be developed for the Nintendo 64. It features the same irreverent content with refreshed graphics and a new multi-player mode. Conker continues to be a game that is suitable only for adults.

Conker: Live and Reloaded has two modes of play -- the remade version of the single-player Conker's Bad Fur Day, and a first-person shooter multi-player mode. In the single-player version, the player takes the role of Conker, a squirrel with a bad attitude and a drinking problem. The zany game starts with Conker waking up lost and with a severe hangover after a night of heavy drinking. His goal is to find his way home and back to his girl Berri. First, however, he has to make it through a series of strange events and even stranger characters.

There are many reasons why this game is not a good one for kids. One reason becomes quickly apparent: The developers clearly have fetish with basic bodily functions, and derive most of the game's humor from it. Multiple levels dwell in the muck of potty humor much of which is very disgusting. In one level, Conker feeds cows a large amount of prune juice causing them to, um, relieve themselves unmercifully. From this, Conker creates a giant ball of poo, which he rolls through several of the next challenges. Later he needs to get drunk and proceeds to urinate on fiery imps to put them out. In yet another level, Conker takes on a boss character known as the Great Mighty Poo by throwing toilet paper rolls in his mouth.

Conker also has plenty of graphic violence. Some is in the single-player story mode, but present in full-force during the multi-player FPS mode. Blood splatters on the screen during combat, close-ups of carcasses are shown and characters can be started on fire.

Alcohol is mentioned frequently and characters are shown getting drunk. Even the beginning menu of the game starts with a pub scene. The player staggers about the pub to select which type of game they want to play. Finally, vulgar language has a constant presence in the single-player story. Many characters use all forms of vulgar language and while some of the most offensive words are bleeped out, it is still quite easy to understand what they are saying.

All in all, it is not surprising that this game is not recommended for children. Even the packaging itself carries an extra warning that the game is not intended for anyone under 17. Yet, it is also evident that given the cute, cartoony characters, this game has plenty of appeal for younger players. Parents, don't be fooled; plenty of games offer unique characters and more age-appropriate content, such as PSYCHONAUTS or VIEWTIFUL JOE.

This game is a great platformer. The little squirl is cute but do not make the mistake of letting your kid sit and watch while you play this game. The lang. is AWFUL! The game is a lot of fun with great graphics. I would highly recommend it.

Disappointed...

I'm not a hardcore gamer, and I'm fairly new to xbox games...but I really enjoyed playing Oddworld (munch's oddysee and stranger's wrath) and Fable, so I got this game hoping it would be as challenging and fun. Being an xbox noob, I didn't realize til I got home that "live and reloaded" was an online game. It says on the box 'online enabled'...but I understood that to mean you could play with bigger groups online if you wanted...but that you could also play alone or with a friend with just your xbox offline -- nope -- all the new content is online. I was disappointed to say the least...but, I hadn't played the original game (bad fur day) which is also on the disc, so I thought I'd give it a try. The graphics were ok, but the animations seemed too long at times and you can't skip through it unless you've watched it once. The dialog was lame (corny at best) and the bleeped out cursing seemed gratuitous and unnecessary. I felt I needed to give it a fair try though so I stuck with it for a few levels. The actual game play is easy but frustrating because the game mechanics were clumsy and counter intuitive. You are expected to jump and hover to places/switches that take about 100 tries (you have to trigger the exact key frame) before you can proceed. That quickly becomes very tedious and unfun. I'm guessing it lost something in the translation to xbox from nintendo(?). I can go on and on about the short-comings of this game but I won't bore you, after all this isn't the right place to review bad fur day. I just thought I'd share my disappointment, and hopefully warn someone (like me) who was expecting to be able to play offline.

Poorly documented and long levels

This could be an excellent game, and it really is, except for two things.

First, the game is very poorly documented. If you're a hardcore gamer, you'll figure most of it out. But the one thing that I couldn't figure out is how to get to a point where I can actually save my progress. Either there's something I couldn't figure out, or the there is way too much to do between game save points. In either case, I got tired of having to do the same things over and over and over and over and over again just to get to the next part of the game.

THE BEST GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Conkers BAd Fur day for the n64 was one of the best games ever, this sequel is no exception, and if you were wondering it IS 5 times better than Halo 2 and should have gotten a lot more attention. Even though it is one of the best games it does have its flaws, but the only one i have found is that the single player is exactly the same as the n64 version. It does have a campaign but it is very short. But you can play in dumbots mode which lets you play a bunch of different missions with a bunch of bots. So if youre into shooters youll love this game.

Different...

Conkers Bad Fur Day is my favourite game on N64. I would still play it today if the controllers weren't so useless.
The port of the original is very good, looks great and the sound is awesome, its really great to play through the game again, especially with a decent contorller. But what i sadly miss is the original multiplayer. I used to play it all day, it was easily the best multiplayer game on N64. But its nowhere to be found. Instead it has been replaced with a super-complex brand new multiplayer. It really is a fantastic multiplayer but its a wee bit too complex for me. I much prefer the original one. If only it were put on this version then I would be completely happy.
