Terminator meets Grand Theft Auto

Who knew the Terminator liked to drive so much! If you don't enjoy driving and are looking for a solid 3rd person shooter, this game will really let you down.

The graphics are great, the sound is good, but I only gave it 3 stars because I thought I was getting a 3rd person shooter, not a driving game.

Personally, I thought I'd be ripping apart other Terminators, etc. but in the majority of the missions you are driving or hijacking another one of Skynets machines.

The game was fun, although sometimes frustrating as you have to restart the entire level if you die (no checkpoints). If you go into the game understanding it mostly about driving you wont be disappointed. If you want a 3rd person shooter, well, I guess we'll have to wait for Terminator 4...

After a hard day at work, nothing beats being able to blow some crap up! And this game lets you loose with an arsenal of explosive weaponary. Plus, one of the very cool things about the game is the ability to "upgrade" your Terminator with better healing power, better weapons, and more strength. The levels can be a little overwhelming at first because so much is going on around you but you will get use to it and then be ready to kick some machine booty!

You have to admit, Rise of the Machines sucked. I've played the demo for Redemption and it is awesome compared to Rise of the Machines. You can now use vehicles from the future and the past. You can even use a minigun in a helicopter. Now how cool is that. This game has much better animation than Rise of Machines and Arnold looks a whole lot better. So go buy this game when it comes out in August. Hope it doesn't get delayed!

I just got the game yesterday, to my surprise cuz i thought it wasn't out yet. Anyway, seems to be VERY cool. great graphics and very good gameplay. when u die, u have to start the level over again, but i might just be dying b/c i suck, since i just got it. very cool details and over-all seems to be VERY good and very entertaining

Decent but......

Once again, this game is another example of video game makers being negligent of the needs of busy adults. Checkpoints, checkpoints, checkpoints!!! I am sure that one can go on the internet and get the needed cheat codes, but where is the fun in that? Overall, the hardcore gamer that spends hours in front of his/her machine will adore this game, albeit, it is a bit linear. If you want a really great game that has both good vehicle combat and third person action, along with checkpoints! I would suggest Metal Arms: Glitch in the System.

A throw back to the T2: Arcade game

This game may be one of the best Terminator games ever made. If you have any love for the Terminator franchise you would stop reading this review right now and go pick it up. What makes this game stand out is that you actually have Arnold as the Terminator. No puny sound alikes (although his voice changes a little during some levels). The stuff that makes the game really enjoyable is the atmosphere: fighting a war in a future apocalyptic LA, car chases through a grave yard, fighting the TX really makes you feel like you are in the movie. Speaking of the movie the intro level has huge part to do with the T3 flick, its worth that for the price alone if you are a Terminator fan like I am. The sound and visuals are all top notch, heck even the Terminator has battle damage(when the level starts , your T-850 doesnt have a scratch on him , but if you take a few critical hits you'll be able to see your Endo-skeleton. cool!) The down part of this game is that its tougher than a $3 dollar steak. Some levels will really test your patience(especially the last one, sheesh!). Another downside is no replay-abillity after you've completed the game. There is a co-op game featured on here too, but it only has 3 levels which can be tough to play. All in all though this game is a action/shooter on rails, with driving and chase levels/scenes just like in the movies. I think this game is the spiritual successor to the T2: the Arcade game, Arnold even uses some of his one liners from there in here, never gets old to hear him say "Excellent", "Terminated" or my new favorite: "Talk to the hand". If youre like me and need to get your Anti Skynet campaign on, this game will not dissapoint.
