A non starter from Disney

1 Rating: 1, Useful: 16 / 17

Herbie Fully Loaded GBA amounts to nothing more than a non starter from Disney. Herbie is short on thrills and lacks any elements of excitment. Remove Herbie from the picture and the game compares to just about any other below average racer on the GBA. The words Fully Loaded are somewhat missleading, as the game looks very slow in action.

If you miss out on Herbie Fully Loaded, take it from this reviewer, you have not missed out on anything worth experiencing. A flat tyre of a game, that just about sums up Herbie Fully Loaded.

They could have done much better...

You'll probably only want to buy this game if you're a really die-hard Herbie fan. I happen to be one and I'm still more than a little disappointed.

There are only 8 tracks to race on. Aside from the layout of the tracks, there is very little difference between them.

There are three game modes to choose from (Story, Free Race and Championship), but there is virtually no difference in game play between those three modes. "Story" is misleading, because there is no plot to speak of. When you're in Story mode you're just led through the same 8 tracks and shown a couple still images from the movie with encouraging phrases overlaid on them.

In Free Race you can run one of the 8 races individually, once it has been unlocked in the Story mode. Championship just cycles you through the same 8 tracks again and keeps track of your overall ranking against several other AI racers.

The mood meter is cute and the power-ups are classic Herbie wheelies and jumps, but it's not enough to keep your interest beyond the first 8 runnings of the tracks. It would have been a much better game if they had introduced more substance to the story mode or maybe taken advantage of the different incarnations of Herbie from the new movie (Classic, Street Racer, Demolition Derby and NASCAR).

I'll probably keep it since my four-year-old is a huge Herbie fan, but they could have done much better.

no Mario Kart

If you are expecting a racer to equal Nintendos Mario Kart then forget it. Herbie fully loaded is simply a mish mash of averageness. The main player car *Herbie* looks ok if alittle on the slim side for Herbie. The tracks are what really let down Herbie. The tracks look very square and are miles away from the great tracks that feature in Mario Kart.

If you are looking for a GBA racer then go and buy Mario Kart, it is the ulitmate GBA racer. Disneys Herbie Fully Loaded GBA is the pits.

boring GBA driver

The only thing going for Disneys Herbie game Herbie Fully Loaded GBA are the small digitized photos taken from the movie. They add something to an otherwise boring game experience.

Sound is ok, the graphics seem ok. What looks really odd is the over real looking Herbie auto placee on the overly colorful tracks, the 2 styles simply donot match up, which seems odd coming from Disney.

Game play again is averge to boring, none of the tracks offer anying real challenge, every tracks feels the same, this leads to boredom setting in rather fast.

Closing comments, Herbie Fully Loaded is not a rush out and buy. The only people that are likely to buy Herbie Fully Loaded are die hard fans of the cute white car.

WAAAY BELOW AVERAGE GBA RACER

DISNEYS LASTEST RACER FEATURING HERBIE THE STOCK CAR IS AVERAGE AT THE BEST OF TIMES. THE GAME IS OK IF ON AN WAAAY TOO EASY LEVEL WITH NO LONG TERM CHALLENGE. HERBIE LOOKS OUT OF SCALE WITH THE ROAD BY A MILE, THE HIGHWAY LANES ARE 3X HERBIES WIDTH.

HERBIE FULLY LOADED IS FOR HERIBE FANS ONLY.

Plenty of faffing around with little of interest to do

Faffing around followed by more faffing around, and thats just on the over complicated option screens. Why oh why cant they just keep matters simple?

Herbie fully loaded not only fails to add anything new to an already overworked genre it fails to match up to previous far superior racing games that have appeared on the GBA in the past.

A BIG thumbs down to Herbie Fully Loaded. Sorry Disney, i wanted to like it honest.

Disney Falls Into a Pot-Hole With This Uninspired Racing Game

Let me start out by saying I really wanted to enjoy this game. The concept is promising: you play as a talking race car named ''Herbie'' (the game is inspired by the recent Disney movie) and race around for no apparent reason. This has potential for being an enjoyable game, but ''Herbie'' moves EXTREMELY slowly, and this subtracts a great deal of fun from the game. The graphics are decent but they can't make up for the HORRIBLE gameplay. I can't really recommend this game to anyone, even those who are at an age when they are fascinated by cars...I doubt if they could find any thing even remotely entertaining in this...thing. SKIP THIS GAME.
