I think that Mario Party 3 for Nintendo 64 is a great game! In both Mario Party 1 and Mario Party 2, you compete against to see who will get the most stars and the most coins, then they get put into a bank. However, in Mario Party 3, you don't have to worry about that. You just play without worrying how much get's put into the bank. The games are similar to the other two, but the games are more updated and they are much funner.

Great Game!!

This is a really great game!! It features tons of awesome mini-games and some wonderful board games. The only problem is that the computer pulls off some EXTREMELY questionable feats. Still, I give it 4 1/2.

Not the best game...

Nintendo really blew it this time. Mario Party 3 is good, but it is not my favorite game. The thing that really destroys the gameplay is the mini-games. They are horrible and not fun. Some of them are just stupid, like Awful Tower. The only games that I like are Mario's Puzzle Party and M.P.I.Q. The rest of the games all stink. If they had better mini-games, I would probably rate this a 5.

I would have loved to try this game, but I was sent Mario Paper Instead. I was quite disappointed. I very well could'nt send it Mario Paper back because this was supposed to be a gift. Mario Paper was not what this person wanted, and had to be presented as a gift the day I received it. Sooooo, I will order Mario Party3 once more and try to get and pay for the right choice this time.

Mario Party 3 has the same concept as Mario Party 2: get as many stars as you can and win as many mini-games as you can. But both games share the same unfair randomness that has made so many people dislike the Mario Party series.
Even though Mario Party 2 DID have a lot of unfair things about it, Mario Party 3 is a lot more unfair and random, which makes it worse than the previous games. Everywhere you go in Mario Party 3 there is something unfair. Whether it's "Game Guy" ripping you off all of your coins or randomly getting valubale items from Bowser or Toad, everywhere you look there is something unfair. If two players have the exact same amount of coins or stars at the end of the game and they are both in 1st place, they will both hit dice blocks and based on THAT the winner will be declared. That means that in the end, an entire game of strategy can often mean nothing and winners often win by chance.
Since the whole game is based on chance, it's no wonder the game is so unfair. For example if "player A" has gotten a ton of coins throughout the game from winning lots of mini-games and "player B" happens to come across boo, "Player B" can steal almost all of the coins that "Player A" has worked so hard to get! And if you select "Bonuses" in the beginning of the game, any player can simply land on a space and get a free star (it is random.) Unless you are playing a board game with 10 turns, get ready for a long, arduous game, especially if it's you and 3 computer players. Plus the plot of the game is corny, the music is corny and the mini-games are boring.
If you are looking for a game where if you put effort into it you'll get something in return, don't get this game.

Forget Fusion Frenzy!

Nice try MS. But Fuzion Frenzy is not the great alternitive to Mario Party series. This has better gameplay and mini-games while your game only has better graphics.Nintendo continues to rock

Buy this game!

I rented this at my local video rental store and I loved it! The mini games are more fun in this game than Mario Party 2. I'd say the best games are Cheep Cheep Chase and Rockin' Raceway, but everyone's entitled to their own opinion. Anyway, I say this is one of my favorite games, as I personally LOVE all the Mario games.
