This by far is the worst Star Wars game out there. The Pod Racing part is annoying and too long (I gave up after about 20 tries), it's almost impossible to catch up with the main pod racer. There is way too much coin or what ever you want to call it collecting. There was no need for this, the lego concept I thought was pretty cool but they could have done without the above mentioned and this game would have been alot better.

Cool in theory

The game is a great concept but once you get over that it is kind of dull.

I think the game is aimed at kids, so for little ones it may be worth it. I got bored with it after about a half hour and haven't played it since.

A Great Game For All Ages

My [...] son loves Star Wars and so we bought him Battlefront 1 & 2 even though rated Teen. Hw would not stop playing them. That is until we bought Lego Star Wars. He absolutely LOVES this game and so do we.

One of his favorite parts is that he can play any Star Wars charater he wants and go into any game play. You can also use anything in the game that is a Lego piece and discover new things in the game everytime you play.

It is a lot of fun and very interactive and I would recommend it for any age.

Good, but not as good as LEGO star wars II

When I bought the game and went home to play it, I grabbed my brother, and we crashed ourselves onto the sofa (couch.) Things went ok for me and my brother, we started out as Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi. We did not know what to do at first. Then we went through a door, the top had a I on it. We then started playing Episode I The Phantom Menace! In a matter of weeks we beat the game with a little help from our friends. Soon, when we had enough characters to play as for Free Play Mode, me and my brother had so much fun playing. Our favorite episode to play in was Episode III Revenge of the Sith. We had so much fun untill the Sequel (LEGO star wars II came out!!
Mixing LEGO's?! LEGO city?! I still have the first LEGO Star Wars game and we still play it, (once in a while that is)

The bricks worked hard and made the force!

I just got this game over the weekend. It is a really fun game. I unlocked Darth Maul using a code. This game is sooooooo cool. It's based on star wars episodes 1,2,and 3. The game is so loyal to the movies even though a lot of scenes are cutt. In the begining of the episode 2 part, it skips straight to the part when Obi-Wan lands on Kamino. Other than the scenes that are cutt, the game is pretty good. You should get it.

a very amusing and funny take on the star wars movies

you start out in the phantom menace.you must go through all the same stuff from the movies.every character who amounted to squat in this one,is available here.some by winning levels and some you must buy back at the diner.then you go through attack of the clones and revenge of the sith.you get rated on your performance.if you are ranked as a jedi master on every level, youll open up star wars:a new hope.for some stupid reason theres no empire or jedi levels.anyhow, the list of characters is extensive.you can go back and replay the levels anytime and with whoever you want.so,say you wanted to use darth maul to battle anakan skywalker in the sith level, youre free to do so.the characters include three different anakans,3 obees, chewie, the droids, general grievious in his clone wars form and sith form, mace windu, the emporer and like everybody.theres so many even like minor guards are included.its great fun and can be replayed over and over.another cool thing they did was took out the death element.you cant die.that makes it kid friendly and,as the joke goes ,it keeps your ol lady from killing your character if you play with her.everything that is done in the first three episodes are the levels here.its a really cool game!

This game is quite good. There are about 50 differant charecters to play as, including, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan, Palpatine/Darth Sidious, Mace Windu, Yoda, Genral Grievous (and his MagnaGuards), and even two people from the original trilogy (Princess Leia and a rebel soldier). Most of the puzzles are easy but, 2-3 are VERY challenging. Once you unlock every charecter, you can buy the upcoming Lego Star Wars II (yes LEGO STAR WARS II). You can transfer all of your charecters from the original save file (you need to use the same memory card or hard disk) to LSW 2. See faqs.ign.com for details (search for lego star wars and under the title click "news" [no quotations]). I hope you try and enjoy both games. I am not affiliated with LucasArts, or any other company that helped with the game, in any way.

Surpassed my expectations.

Lego Star Wars looked fun, sure. But I wasnt expecting a whole lot from this game. Wow was I mistaken. Lego Star Wars has proven to be one of the richest Star Wars experiences money can buy. The game allows you to play as over 30 different characters from Episodes 1,2, and 3 as you play through these respective episode's plots. The graphics and gameplay are nothing short of great. The humor in this game is hillarious as Lego characters who can not talk try to recreate classic scenes from the films. But then again maybe I'm just a huge Star Wars fan and the game isnt funny at all?....NAA! Trust me, this game is funny even when it is trying hard not to be. The Lego characters are just too dang funny looking I guess. After buying this game a year ago, I still have a lot of fun playing it and the fact that it is two player only extends the replayability. With the one year anniversary of Revenge of the Sith approaching, this game would make a great way to celebrate the prequel trilogy (if anyone other than me does that, lol) Buy this game if you are a Star Wars fan, you wont be dissapointed. Thanks for reading.

What are you waiting for?

Being the LEGO fan I am, I heard about this game, but it didn't get me too excited, simply because I am not an avid Star Wars fan. It's such a huge franchise, and Episodes I and II sucked.

So I'm going through Best Buy, playing the demos, and I find a demo for this game. I decide to play it. All of a sudden, I'm sucked in. I finish the first level, hungering for more.

Fast forward several months, to where I own the game and have finished it. My thoughts?

Believe it or not, this game is SO much more entertaining than watching the actual movies, and almost as informative. You don't need to have seen the actual movies(except for Episode III, that one was actually good). The cutscenes don't use actual voiceovers, just a series of humurous sound effects that make for great comedy. Playing that demo in Best Buy, the opening movie shows the ship which carried Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan getting blown up, and the two pilots are hanging there in mid air for a second before going "WAAAAAAH!" Absolutely hillarious.

The gameplay is good, granted a bit easy, but considering that this is a kids game, that can be forgiven. And it presented enough of a challenge for me when I tried getting everything. And you get good rewards for getting everything. There are so many fun unlockables in this game--Wanna play General Grievous? Trade lightsabers and blasters for push brooms and teacups(I'm serious! This game is so tricked out!)? How 'bout Darth Vader himself? The depth to this game is outstanding, and the extra characters and fun little extra objects(mostuache, anyone?) should keep you playing for at least a while.

Each character has unique abilities, which really puts the game in its place. You actually have to think carefully about some of the situations. And the use of the "Force" to move Lego pieces to build something new or destory a barrier is wicked fun to see.

The graphics, while not realistic, are very, very good. Their impressions of Naboo, Tatoonie, and Kasykk look much like their movie settings, and being made out of Legos, it adds to this fun little universe. And the Legos move realisticly and manage to keep up with the standards of their movie conterparts, particuraly in the lightsaber fights and blaster scenes.

The music is good. Despite my hated of John Williams, I never found the music annoying, it manages to keep its background quality, and it fits certain scenes well, like when you encounter droids it'll suddenly switch to a tone that will alert you.

Above all, if you're a fan of Star Wars, if you're AT ALL a fan of Legos, you gotta try this game. It will give you one fun time. And now that a sequel based on the Original Trilogy is in the works, now is the time to get comfortable with the series before playing Luke, Han and Leia. You won't be sorry.

Best Star Wars game except for Battlefront II!

This is the best Star Wars game of all time except for Battlefront II. You Get To play in Episodes I, II, and III. You can duel Maul, Dooku, Grevious, and Anakin/Darth Vader. You can fight pretty much every where in the movies such as on Naboo, the podrace, Kamino, the Droid Factory, Geonosis, in space going to rescue Palpatine, General Grevious' Command Ship, Utapau, Kashyyyk, Jedi Temple, and Mustafar. When you get these hidden things called Minikits and get Superkits you can play the beginning of Episode IV as Darth Vader and stormtroopers breaking in on the Rebel ship. Superkits are a certain amount of money that you have to get on each level. You get to collect money and buy some things such as big blasters and INVICABILITY!! It is a great game! [Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy is coming out this fall!!!]
