Should be Great

After buying 2x this game should be awesome.Look at em' bust the moves.and then look at the park editor! But if you like games with more fun, maybe you'd like to take a look into EA's SSX Tricky, which i also have first hand expeirience with, and it's alot more fun then this silly little excuse for a game. That game should be Number #1!Tony Hawk focuses to much on realisticness. compare NHl Hitz 2002 to NHL 2002, NHL 2002 is more realistic but not as fun!

Wow Wow Wow Wow Wow (etc)

I have owned all three Tony Hawk games, the first 2 on N64 and the 3rd on Xbox. I found this one to be the best of all of them for a couple of reasons.
1. The levels are more complete and are bigger and more interesting. The graphics are also much better, but this is probably just because I played the other ones on N64 which is inferior to the Xbox.
2. This game is not too hard, but not too easy. I found the first game to be extremely easy and I got all 30 tapes with every single character. The second one was a lot harder and I could not get to the last level. Some things just seemed impossible and it was frustrating. THPS3 is in between. Although some of the goals you have to complete are hard, others are relatively easy, and usually you can advance to the next level without becoming very frustrated.
3. The new system of finding the stat points and new decks is much better than the previous two. In the first one you automatically got stat points and decks when you got a certain number of tapes. Then in the second one you had to buy both, which I thought was dumb because you can't just pay to make yourself better (for stat pts). For decks the money thing was fine. Sometimes it is hard to find the decks but it doesn't really matter anyways, its just a different design.
4. This game has great replay value. This is because of the creat a skater and the Make your own skatepark modes. I reaally enjoyed this in the second one and it is better in this version. I don't know if it is just me, but with the tony hawk games I play them for a really long time. I still play the first one!
Overall almost everything about this game is perfect, with only a few minor flaws that aren't that bad. I would reccomend it to anyone who skateboards, has ever watched skateboarding or would just like a game that is fun and has amazing graphics.

Hours of grinding fun!

This game is a lot of fun! Like all games, it does take a bit of practice, but you'll catch on soon enough. You don't have to be a skateboarding fan to play this game. There are so many levels and goals to reach that you'll soon become a Tony Hawk fan if you aren't already. The music is good, but it does get a bit repetitive. Thankfully you can put your own music on. This game is great for all ages.

Grind it, baby

Thank you, Tony Hawk, for finally forcing a game developer to create, distribute and support a good skating game. Great artwork, physics and maps are all hallmarks of this cutting edge video game.
The gameplay is excellent and the corses are challenging. The variations on the controls allow the user to be creative and still achieve the goals. I am still learning new tricks and raising my point levels.
The inclusion of the manual trick has completed changed the game and opened up tremendous new opportunities for the user.
Excellent buy.

Great Game No Matter What System

Let's face it folks, this game is great. I got to play a demo of this for the Xbox, and it's fantastic. Even though the controller
is a little uncomfortable, what controller isn't? The only reason I think this version is better is because you can mix your own music when you play. Everybody stop whining about who's system is better and just enjoy the games!!!

Can this game get any better?

This game is another great outing in the THPS series. I have no complaints about any of the levels and the interaction on this game is great, I realy liked the Suburbia and the Los Angeles, I won't say what I liked about these levels, since I don't want to spoil any of the surprises. I do have to agree that pulling combos is far easier with the playstation controller, the xbox is a great system but the controller needs to be reworked. I had problems using the controller on Dave Mirra 2 also. The angles on the controller are terrible, are you pushing up or down or diagonal??? Final note, I wouldn't trade my Xbox for anything currently out there.

THE BEST GAME EVER!!!

This was a must-buy game from the moment I picked up an Xbox on launch day in November. I remember people were clamoring for this one as well as Grand Theft Auto 3 (still are for that one). If it's any indication of how great this game is, I rented both Wreckless and NBA2K2 but found myself *reverting* back to a game I have already been playing for more than a month.

I have but one more goal before I finish the game (500,000 score on Cruise Ship). I'm very satisfied with how this game challenged me from the moment I started playing it. I was a decent THPS2 player but the new revert feature adds so much to gameplay. The humor is more visible and well done as well.

I ran off what I thought was a decent run on the Tokyo Mega Mecha stage only to watch in horror as I got about 20-30 points from each of the judges. You really need pick up most of the stat points (I still can't seem to find the Tokyo stat points) in order to pull off a killer 95+ round to win the gold.

Unlike Amped (buy SSX Tricky if you enjoy video games), you can progress through this game without pulling out your hair. I love being able to use my own custom soundtrack. I've replaced all the heinous punk and hip hop music with my own mix of downtempo, tech house, industrial and jungle.

There are just a few things to pick on: the textures and graphics are not as detailed as they could be, though it beats playing the PS2 version that looks like you're playing through a blocky mosaic). The animations still seem a bit stiff around the arms, the menu and clothing load pause times are a bit much, and Neversoft should take a cue from Amped when it comes to the media/spectator concept (and the voltage/excitement meter). Whenever they decide to optimize THPS for the Xbox with graphics like Dead or Alive 3, it is going to be more incredible than anyone could imagine.
