Should be Great

After buying 2x this game should be awesome.Look at em' bust the moves.and then look at the park editor! But if you like games with more fun, maybe you'd like to take a look into EA's SSX Tricky, which i also have first hand expeirience with, and it's alot more fun then this silly little excuse for a game. That game should be Number #1!Tony Hawk focuses to much on realisticness. compare NHl Hitz 2002 to NHL 2002, NHL 2002 is more realistic but not as fun!

Great Game/Lousy Controller

Feel sorry for anyone trying to pull off high scoring combos with the X-Box controller. Expect to throw your controller frequently.

Multiplayer is weak

No races, nor trick contests. Spoiled by SSX Tricky, I suppose.

I am a PS2 owner, but have one freind who has an XBox. I have Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3 for PS2, and I recently played it for XBOX. On PS2 it gets a deffinite five stars, and on XBOX a 3. Why? The game is alsmost the EXCACT same. XBOX gets a 2. Why? The games that come out are 98% of the time COPOUTS of PS2 games.
Can Bill Gates and his billion dollar industry come up with some friggin originality? No body wants to play the same game after it came out 6 months ago on the PS2! You XBOX people are boring and unoriginal. Get a life and stop copying for God's sake, and the video game world's sake. P.S. There is one game franchise that happens to be the #1 game franchise you can never touch. Grand Theft Auto III, and other Grand Theft Auto games that come out (The next one comes out in October)

LOOKS GREAT! plays weak.

Okay, so graphically this blows THPS2x out of the water. But you need more than that.

The controls are so tight, and a little TOO realistic. Remember in 2x when you did your first 1080, and you got SO excited? That's how you feel the first time you land your 540s successfully, here.

If you're used to 2x, you have to expect a WHOLE new game. If you missed 2x, then you'll blow away everyone who didn't.

Fun Game if it Works

I purchased this game once took it home and it didnt have a instruction booklet, so I took it back and got one that did(no problem). I take the game to a friends house and played it on his Xbox. Graphics are great, and it is fun to play a game where it is actually close to real life toughness (I mean it took Tony Hawk over 6 years to pull of a 900 and then the landing was still sketchy). Its good not to see 1390s and 45873s pulled off with ease. Anyway after playing at my friends for a couple of hours, only played the first two levels mostly just multiplayer. I take it back to my place and the freakin game does not work, starts to boot and then no video. I cant explain it, the thing just did not work. I have not had a chance to exchange it for another one yet, the store that I bought it had a power failure. The reason that I give it three is for that reason(that it did not work on my xbox). And yes I have played it on another Xbox and it works fine. Everything else about this game is amazing the soundtrack, graphics, and gameplay are all top notch. Unless you prefer doing 98688477964855796856s to a diffulcut to pull 720 which is equally as rewarding this game is a must buy. If I can get another copy that works with my system it easily gets 5 stars as it should. Although the Xbox controller is not the best for this game, there are other controller options out there. Good luck and Skate ...!!!!!

Hours of grinding fun!

This game is a lot of fun! Like all games, it does take a bit of practice, but you'll catch on soon enough. You don't have to be a skateboarding fan to play this game. There are so many levels and goals to reach that you'll soon become a Tony Hawk fan if you aren't already. The music is good, but it does get a bit repetitive. Thankfully you can put your own music on. This game is great for all ages.

Grind it, baby

Thank you, Tony Hawk, for finally forcing a game developer to create, distribute and support a good skating game. Great artwork, physics and maps are all hallmarks of this cutting edge video game.
The gameplay is excellent and the corses are challenging. The variations on the controls allow the user to be creative and still achieve the goals. I am still learning new tricks and raising my point levels.
The inclusion of the manual trick has completed changed the game and opened up tremendous new opportunities for the user.
Excellent buy.

Good game, one thing missing

I am very impressed with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 for Xbox, and the graphics are much better than the Playstation, Playstation 2 and GameCube. It has a level only for Xbox too. I just wish the cheats would work. Instead of typing them in in the cheats menu like on the Playstation 2, you have to earn them by beating the game. I just think it's cool going over a halfpipe and being airborn for 10 seconds, or grinding around the rails untill you get 50,000 points. Another thing the controls are a little hard, but that doesn't matter so much because you can still pull off amazing tricks, it's just a little more difficult.

Realistic game:

I used to skateboard when I was younger. This game almost has the same feel of being on a board again (except for the occasional broken bones). One of the best features of this game is that you are able to play your own music. I do not like all of the trashy music on the game, so I put some of the Inspirations Gospel quarter on my game (they are a Christian group). One flaw that I have seen is that sometimes the levels are a tad bit difficult. Also, one time while skating [in the Canada level] I fell off the mountain/cliff and then I started skating on the sky, with the skate park up above me . I suppose this was just a glitch that crawled its way onto the programmer's table (?). Overall, this game is a good game, with many options (creat a skater, park editor, etc.). I currently have 4 Xbox games and this is one of my favorites. :)
