Stays true to the Wallace & Gromit series!

Being a big fan of the stop-motion animated Wallace & Gromit shorts, when I saw this game I knew I had to play it. There are 6 huge worlds (Amazons review says there are only 5, but trust me, there are 6) Each level has 3 sub-levels plus secret bonus levels. The object of the game is to free the animals that Feathers (That evil penguin) has captured from the zoo. Wallace and Gromit had adopted a polar bear from the zoo and went to visit him on his birthday, and discovered he'd been bear-napped by Feathers, along with many other animals. You must free each baby animal in the sub-levels, and then face Feathers and the end of each world.

The first world was somewhat easy, but very enjoyable. The graphics are smooth, and the characters look exactly the same. Wallace is voiced by the asme actor, so everything is true to the animated series. Gromit is the main controlled character, but Wallace will help out in certain situations when you call him (By pressing Y.) What I really like is that Wallace isn't constantly following right behind you. (Remember Sonic and Tails?)

The gameplay almost feels similar to Banjo Kazooie (One of my favorite games) I first thought it was going to be a somewhat simple kids game, but I was pleasently surprised to see the difficulty jump after the first world. It really is an enjoyable, cahllenging game whether you are a fan of the series or not. I definitely reccommend this game, especially for the upcoming holiday season.

Great game!

I am 16 years old and have been a fan of Wallace and Gromit for a long time. When I saw this game for sale a couple of years ago, I felt like I had to have it, so I got it, and I don't have any regrets.

The game is an interactive sequel to Nick Park's award-winning short film, 'Wallace and Gromit in The Wrong Trousers.' In this game, you take on the role of Gromit, Wallace's faithful sidekick, in an attempt to foil the evil Feathers McGraw's plan to take over the zoo and make diamonds. As Gromit, you'll move from one challenging level to the next, rescuing baby animals that Feathers has imprisioned and collecting tools and other items to build a bunch of wacky devices needed to advance in the game. And the game includes a bunch of extra features, including a clip on how the game was made, clips from 'The Wrong Trousers,' and 'The Snoozeatron,' the latest installment in the Cracking Contraption series.

The game's graphics are really a thing to see. While they don't look very realistic, they look almost exactly like they do in the original claymation. I think that any Wallace and Gromit fan should add this game to their collection of Wallace and Gromit merchandise.

A Creative and Adventure-filled Game

This game stays true to the Wallace & Gromit series so well. The graphics are great and everything flows smoothly. In each level, Wallace and Gromit work through a series of unique areas in the zoo to rescue baby animals and catch up to Feathers, the evil penguin mastermind behind it all.

The great thing about Project Zoo is that as the Gromit character, you have the freedom to explore just about every inch of each area and get to do a lot of creative thinking and problem-solving in the process. It gets very, very challanging at times, but not impossible. The hidden bonus levels are fun to find and add nicely to the adventurous feel of the game. Wallace's role in all this is to build contraptions and weapons, but it is Gromit that has to...well...work like a dog (sorry) through each adventure-packed level. Very high entertainment value, family friendly and highly recommended.

A fun game that stays true to its stop-motion roots

A thoroughly enjoyable game. A great number of hints and pointers are provided within the gameplay to assist younger players. The humour, smooth gameplay and overall ambience of the game, balance its difficulty and produce a fun romp through Wallace and Gromit's 'Cracking' world. The character animations are first rate, as is Peter Sallis's voice acting. A must for any Wallace and Gromit fan! - October 31, 2003

As I have progressed through the levels since October, I have become increasingly frustrated with a) The games various bugs (some of which require a game restart), b) Gromits poor jump accuracy and c) The occasional bad camera positioning. For these reasons, I feel obliged to downgrade my rating from 4 to 3 stars. My final conclusion, after completing 90% of the game - "Enjoyable but flawed". - December 3, 2003

The Revenge of Feathers McGraw (insert scary music here)

In this video game based on the ingenious claymation series, Wallace and Gromit go to the West Wallaby Zoo, intending to celebrate the birthday of their young friend Archie, a baby polar bear.
Unfortunately, the zoo has fallen into the dastardly hands--er, wings--of Feathers McGraw from The Wrong Trousers, who seems to have broken out of jail. And he has taken poor little Archie hostage to boot.
So now it's up to Wallace and Gromit to save all the baby animals and liberate the zoo from the evil penguin.

You play as Gromit in this game, and you go through several different levels trying to save caged, baby animals. Eventually you get various contraptions from Wallace to help you out along the way. The graphics are really good, and the levels are complicated, but fun. However, the second level is murder to find your way around, fun as it is. I just barely managed to clear it myself...
One of the very best things about this game is that you can unlock movie clips from the TV series and things like that. For instance, there is a featurette about how the game developers made the game, which was really interesting.

I have yet to complete the game, but I know from experience that it is really, really fun, and it's definitely worth the cost. You may like it even if you don't know anything about the TV series.

Awesome game for kids! There are some problems with the camera angles that I fight with, but overall it's a good game. It's not so difficult that you get hung up trying to get past this certain part. You can actually sit back and enjoy the game. Graphics are excellent

One of my favorite games on the Cube. Excellent voice acting and the graphics are outstanding. But what really shines are the wacky inventions and the puzzles. Not a button mashing game, this one make you think. I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game from beginning to end.

Pros:
3d Graphics
Game design and logic

Cons: Sometimes views can be hard to control, but with practice you can overcome the challenge.

Overall this game is fun for all ages. It took my wife 4 weeks to complete the game.

I wish it was better

I love Wallace and Gromit. I couldn't wait to play this game. However, I am disappointed. I found the graphics to be very well done, but the camera jumps so much that every time I play, I get motion sickness. Sometimes the camera jumps so much that you walk right off of platforms. It doesn't save automatically so if you forget, get ready to replay. I would still buy it, however, I would wait until the price drops...

A joy for all family members

We gave our son the gamecube for Christmas and one of the games was Wallace & Gromit. I have never been a big fan of video games but once I tried W&G I was hooked. Our son loves it and my wife just laughs as he and I both try to get through the levels. The animation is outstanding and very fluid.

It has been frustrating for me to learn how to operate the controls but if they make another game with these guys I will buy it for our entire family!
