TWO WORDS.......

The Best. This is easily the best game to come out for PS2. It has some bomb@$$ graphics too, and the characters are the best. Especially Kou. The game is not too short either. Since it is such a good story it wouldn't matter anyway.

Lets see

Well it does have good graphics and is fun, but story mode gets pretty easy if you have beaten it once or twice. It still is a good game if you like fighting games.

A very quick game, one of the quickest out for Ps2, but fun

Ideally, this is a game you would buy with 2 other friends, each chipping in about 15-20 bucks. Ideally, each of you could play one of the 3 characters as you advance through the story. Ideally, this game -- which is really quite eye-catching and fun to play -- would last you a few weeks. Unfortunately, the latter 2 are not true and you're definitely better off splitting this game with some buddies rather than plunking down all of the cash for this yourself. I beat the game sitting down with it one night. It is an incredibly short game.

That's not to say it isn't fun. I ended up playing it over and over again to buff up my characters (you really have to run through the game a few times to get each of the Bouncers pumped up to enjoy it). Still, I couldn't help but feel cheated that a game that is as expensive as this one is should have lasted longer. When I played Ps1 games like Jedi Power Battles, the Resident Evil series, etc., they would take me 1-3 weeks at least to finish. Sadly, most of the "first wave" of Ps2 games are "wham bam thank you sony".

Like any of the first year games, this one is good for the combined fighting tactics you and the computer use to beat the bad guys. It pains me that you could not get that 2nd joystick to work and have a buddy at least partner up with you. If Jedi Power Battles can do that, why couldn't this game? My expectations were set for a "team up" game -- and this game allows up to 4 people to play but only in the "match" mode.

As with any of the new Ps2 games, the story here less coherent than a Goddard film, but it is fun nonetheless. Some of the combat and movie sequences are really cool (I'll nominate Dominque's "coming out of the closet" scene as my favorite).

Although I just got done rating "X Squad" with a 3, and I'd give "Warlords" a 4 stars, this one sadly deserves only 2. I would buy it used or buy it with a friend so that after the adreniline high of the game is gone, and only 4-8 hours have passed, you're feel that it was worth it.

Oh, this one truly has some of the most absurd "movie" moments you're likely to see in a videogame. I would swear that videogame scripts and plots have a weird aestethic up there with the films of Roger Corman and Ed Wood: dialogue and plot connections so bizarre and painful that they are funny.

Good but short.

I honestly do not know if short is the word to describe this game. The actual gameplay is very short. The fights only last about a minute to two minutes, but they are fun, if a little easy. The problem with the game is the cinema. Although the graphics are quite impressive, the cinemas are too long and too frequent. After every fight there is a short pointless cinema ( I would have snapped the game in half if it wasn't for the skip button), which i personally think did not enhance the story, which is actually pretty stupid. The combanation of these two factors can be annoying. The first time i played through the game it took me about three hours because of the cinemas. Once i skipped the cinemas it only took half an hour. I had the game beaten with every secret character unlocked in two, maybe three, days. What levels the story mode out is the multiplayer mode. With about 15 differant characters and two types of modes it kept me and my friends busy for a while, but like most fighting games it can get boring. I would suggest renting this game before buying it, just to make sure you don't get sick of it in a week.

Boring...

Good graphics, bad camera and boring fighting system make this game a real snooze-a-rama. This game is worse then the old arcade game, final fight. No weapons, no interactive backgrounds...even Gekido for PS1 has this.

Exhibits some huge talent

For years on end, Squaresoft has presented the video gaming world with the very most elite video games in the world, of which include the ever popular Final Fantasy Series. The Bouncer fits right in with it's other amazing titles. As the game says, the Bouncer is like a action movie you play. It is a movie, acutally, only you play the parts that have actual fighting. It is one of the most intriguing titles yet.

A surprise

When I first read some reviews from magazines I was a little curshed. The game my heart was set on buying suddenly sucked. I just bought The Bouncer despit my doubts and was completely surprised. I dont know what they were talking about. THE GRAPHICS IN THIS GAME ARE THE BEST IN ANY VIDEO GAME I HAVE EVER SEEN! I was in utter awe at the CG cinema effects and the actual game itself. You get to be in the hotseat of purely outstanding graphics and fun gameplay. This game adds to this somewhat fading genre and really serves as a flagship PS2 game. Don't hesitate in buying this game. Its fun, challenging and a graphical masterpiece

The bouncer has its ups and downs.

The game one of the most amazing graphics and movies I have ever seen. The Story isn't bad. One of the problems are that most of the game is movie. You don't get to fight that often though. But I would reccomend this game still since it's better than your average fighting game.

Awsome you can play it forever

You might have heard that this game is short and kinda boring, but that's for those hardcore gamers and those who are GOOD at video games. Me, I love to play video games, but I find that a lot of them are really hard! Don't get me wrong, I love a challenge, but some games take weeks and sometimes months to finish! At least at my skill level, which isn't saying much. I think this game's storyline is a little corny, but it's still entertaining. It has different outcomes for certain things, depending on the character you use to fight. This game is a fighting game with somewhat of a good story put to it. It's not just beat these guys, beat the boss, and you're done. It also has a really cool multi-player mode. You could play with up to four people. But I recommmend that you beat the game before you play the multi-player so you can have more people to choose from. The survival mode is adequate as well. All in all, this is a good game for a person who doesn't want to spend FOREVER trying to figure out a puzzle or secrets or whatever. This game is good when you just wanted to be entertained.
