FIRST THIS IS ACTUALLY A 4 AND 1/2 STAR GAME

when i first got this game i was dissapointed it was a fps (first person shooter),but after i started playing i was hooked. it changed my veiws about fps games. i used to hate fps, but now i love them.

i haven't played the multiplayer yet so this is based on the singleplayer mode. i was somewhat dissapointed i could only use one path, but it is still fun. the battles are amazing. bullets are flying everywhere and it is complete chaos. i also like the skirmishes in the swamp and the times when you clear out the villages and depots.

the medic feature adds a sense of realism to the game because you don't just magicaly heal.

now to address the graphics.the are great in fact almost to great. if ihadn't gotten a new video card at christmas so i could play battlefront i would have nedded a new video card.

the plane levels are amazing although it takes a while to get used to.

it is a great game and i would reccomend it to any history buff or gamer who loves ww2 games.

read system requierments before you buy

FIRST , THE GUYS WHO ARE DISSING THIS GAME OBVOUISLY KKNOW NOTHING OF WORLD WAR TWO AND ARE JUST NERDS WHO THINK THEY DO. THIS GAME IS COMPLETELY REALISTIC( I THINK I WOULD KNOW SINCE I LOVE WORLD WAR TWO INFORMATION). THE GUNS ARE REALISTIC AND THE SOUNDPLAY IS ASTOUNDING. LEVELS ARE SUPER LONG OF A TOTAL OF 25 MISSIONS. AND TO LET YOU KNOW SOMETHING, I REALLY FELT TIRED AND EXHAUSTED IN THE SAME JUNGLES OVER AND OVER AGIAN, IT CAN GET TO YOUR HEAD.< I MEAN THIS IN A GOOD WAY.

SECOND OF ALL, I DO HAVE TO AGREE WITH THE OTHER PEOPLE THAT EACH LEVEL TAKES ALONG TIME TO LOAD, BUT YOU CAN FIX THIS BY RESTARTING THE LEVEL AND THEN IT WILL BE AS SMOOTH AS SILK.

3RD OF ALL, I RECCOMEND THIS GAME TO ANYONE WHO IS A HUGE FAN OF WORLD WAR TWO BECAUSE IT REALLY IS A GREAT EXPIERIENCE OF WAR.

TO LET YOU KNOW, HERE ARE THE REGUIREMENTS

OS: WINDOWS XP OR 2000
CPU:1.5 GHZ OR FASTER INTEL PENTIUM IV OR ATHLON PROCESSOR

Check the fine print on the system requirements. I got this game for Christmas, installed it and found that it SPECIFICALLY rejects my video card (Nvidia GE Force 4 MX).

Take the gloves off for this one!

The setting is WW 2 ...The Big one as they call it..after a brief but unsuccessful attempt on the beach of a distant Island your real start for the game is Marine Boot camp...It is a real kick and a good touch to let you get your feet wet and learn the game.. then it is off Island hopping as a Marine, working your way up the enlisted ranks. It is more than just a first person shooter, it is aiming the shot with your heart pounding in your chest and seeing the end of the barrel bob and weave to the beat. It was hard for me to play... not for the game itself but for the action..I'm a Vietnam vet and ...well its pretty real. nice thing is you can always holler for a medic and get patched up..but it made me remember those I left behind. I guess I was doin it all wrong..I was busy trying to forget. This isn't an arcade game boys, so take the gloves off for this one! another nice touch is you get to be gunner and later the pilot of a Douglas Dauntless, and then, you go back to the beginning and try that Island you failed at the first time...sweeeeet game. Enjoy!

This game makes you feel that you have gone back in time and are actually experiencing the situations.

This is another game from this manufacturer that refuses to play straight from the box. I have a system that exceeds the minimum requirements and a video card that it says works fine with the game. However, the game refuses to work, just the incompatible card message pops up all the time. No matter what additional drivers are installed or additional tweaking...it matters not. These people should be sued for poor performance. Let the buyer beware.

Everone says they want the most realistic game and you get it here. You think the japs didnt do charges or stayed up and trees, either ur computer neirds or you dont know anything about the fighting in the pacific. Call of duty takes place in europe hello not the jungles two different places. Dont get me wrong Call of Duty is the best ww2 game out there. But dont give bad rewviews if you dont even know anything about the fighting in the jungles. I was in Vietnam I should know.

Don't look here for realism

Game can be fun except for a few things. The weapon reload time is excruciatingly slow, but maybe that could be part of my system. Also apparently the enemy wears body armor. It takes quite a few shots to bring one down. I also don't like getting stuck in arcadish type scenarios and have to complete those to advance the level. Why is MY character always the one that has to shoot the torpedoes out of the water or down the enemy aircraft. The rest of the fireteam doesn't utilize any other weapons or anything, they just sit and wait on me to do it all. The game does have excellent graphics and some decent, tense jungle fighting. It's probably worth buying now since it's achieved bargain bin status.

This game is frustrating.
1. The squad gets in the-denying you to take cover in quick-reactions situations during enemy fire.
2. After unloading an entire magazine of bullets, if you're lucky, you may have killed the enemy.
3. Zig-zag manuvering to resist snipers is futile because the Japanese dead-eye you. As oppose to you not being able to lock on to their zig-zag tactics.
4. Too many sub-missions.
5. Narrow path which inhibits taking cover from the main path.
6. Some levels you start on don't even re-health you so you end of using one of your four health packs.
7. Everyone else doesn't die, but gets stunned, so you're left praying that the medic gets to you on time if he's not "busy."
8. After falling from taking a hit, enemies walk right through you sqaud and put you out of your misery.
9. The graphics are sweet, though.
10. You get to exchange weapons from dead enemies.

If you have the patience, then get the game.
