2nd best game for PS2

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 9 / 9
Date: May 15, 2001

My favorite game for PS2 is Madden, but this game is pretty damn good. It is by far the best game I have played since madden, the gameplay is tight, the graphics are great, the tracks are fun, and you can play 1 vs computer, 2 vs computer, or one on one. One of the better features I've seen in a racing game is the ability to remove other cars when you play vs. another person. For example, when I want to absolutely school my friends Todd, or Sway in a race, it can be one on one and I don't have to worry about them complaining about the other cars.

It would be great if it had a multi-tap feature, but this is great for now. The replayability is a lot of fun, since you have options to find "easter eggs" to unlock additional cars.

I also don't have time to sit down and play for an hour straight anymore because, well, let's face it I'm not in college anymore and I'm not getting any younger. This game gives me the ability to play for 20 minutes since you play 3 tracks at a time. So you can squeeze in a game or 2 without annoying a wife or girlfirend.

All in all a solid game. Much better than ATV, but not as good as Madden.

Truly addicting game!!!

Rumble Racing is only my fourth endeavor into the PS2 playing field, and thankfully i was not disappointed. Rumble Racing is pure fun, pure adrenaline, and truly addicting!!! The graphics flow nicely, and there is no jumping frame rate, or slow downs that I have found yet. The car selection is fun, and the tracks each have their own unique style. This game is just fun imaginative pure hollywoood style racing at its best. The audio commentary is fun, and after several hours of play stills seems entertaining, and not the least bit annoying like most of the audio voice overs get. I am a real game snob, and only buy or keep the stuff that is really FUN to play so buy this game with confidence!! At least it will keep us busy until GT 3 comes out whenever that is!!! game on!!!

It's like SSX in the dirt!

OK, this game won me over replacing SSX as the most addictive game for PS2. With all of the fun and challenging aspects from SSX, Electronic Arts has created a racing game that is more fun than just the normal "ride around the track" style competitions.

Each gold cup you win unlocks a new car, and a new track, plus there are secret easter eggs (make sure you read the directions) to unlock 14 MORE trick vehicles. And even the first cars get tricked out as you advance. Plus shortcuts and powerups on each track give the game variety and excitement.

Buy this game if you weren't impressed by Ridge Racer or Smuggler's Run and if ONLY if you can afford to lose sleep, free time and friends!

Great Family Game

This game is fun. My six year old love it, so does his 12 year old friend, and my x-wife. It's the perfect racing game for racing fans and non-racing fans. It's a keeper.

Step 1. TURN OFF THE COMMENTARY

The commentary is embarrasing. Fortunately, you can turn it off in the options section.

Step 2. You must not be a graphics hound, parts of the game look like a N64 game. It has very poor texturing in some parts and yet other parts of the game look GREAT! What a mystery.

Step 3. You must like racing games that would be considered arcade. You must love power-ups and short cuts.

Step 4. If you don't like tough games, you won't like this game. The AI is determined to drive you off the road and also often speed by you and takes the power-up you were meant to have.

Step 5. You don't need a memory card, this game has that capability of coarse but also gives you PASSWORDS for progression.

Step 6. Since this is like SSX with cars, worse graphics and limited tricks, you'd be better off buying that game instead, unless you have it already.

A showcase racing title for the playstation 2......

EA is off and running with the playstation 2, their latest effort is on the verge of being a must have the sony's new system. First, the graphics, though not jaw-dropping, are solid and the framerate is more than adequate to keep up with the hectic on screen action. The backgrounds are fair to good, anything more probably would have resulted in slowdown. The tracks are wonderfully designed, with shortcuts everywhere, the only slight flaw i find worthy enough to report, are that the powerups are somewhat difficult to differentiate in the heat of the battle(the icons are a little small, and all have a similar design). For any racing fan, this is a must have, anyone else at least deserves to check it out.

A great game indeed.

This game is EXTREMELY fun!!!! The graphics aren't the best the system has to offer, but they are clean and sharp. The framerate runs at a constant 60 fps, and there is absolutely NO slowdown or pop-ups. You start out with a limited number of cars and tracks (as is customary for EA racing games), but once you start unlocking the goodies, you won't want to stop. Lots of cars, the tracks are plentiful and long, and the game is a blast. The audio is very "rednecky," but it fits the game well. The key to winning is to know the short cuts in the tracks, and you must perform tricks while doing the jumps because this allows you to get a burst of speed (if you land successfully that is). Thankfully, the control is rock solid, so performing tricks is fun instead of frustrating. The AI is a bit rough in the later levels, and the computer opponents can be downright ruthless. However, this challenge is a good thing...it keeps you on your toes. This game is highly recommended.

amazing game!

I am a CTR fan and really haven't found any racing games with easy steering and great graphics and weapons. But I finally did. Rumble Racing has it all, it's very easy to control, the graphics are great and the weapons are really cool. The twister weapon is amazing. It has lots of shortcuts plus you can do stunts and unlock cars but I think alot of the cars are great from the beginning. I have bought a couple of racing games for PS2 and didn't like them because you can't control the cars but I love this game!

Great little underground game

Wow...this game kicks. it's very little-known, it's cheaper, but it's a lot of fun. What it basically is is an arcadey racing game, and the more championships you win, the more cars, tracks, and car types (rookie, pro, elite) you unlock. This can also work without a memory card (password) but I recommend just using the memory card. (if you have ps2, you probably have one anyway) There are lots of shortcuts throughout tracks, so keep your eyes peeled. Also, there are a great selection of random power-ups, like (my favorite) the bomb, the rocks, the tire fire (gives you great traction), and if you're in last place, the tornado. The tracks themselves are fun, and have all different settings (IE: Car Go, Touch & Go, and Wild Kingdom all take place in the city, and several are in a country area). As the game goes on, the tracks get more difficult, and the AI gets better and more competitive. Just keep doin' it, you'll improve. Anyway, get this game, it's really worth your money.

Racing at its finest??? NO!!! But really fun anyway...

I love racing games.. I hated Driving Emotion Type S so I waited and waited for Gran Turismo 3 which will probably come out around 2532. So I bought this game saying eh It'll keep me occupied for a month but I think I will be playing it until the come up with a sequel for this darn thing.
