This game will rock! The team Vilition is making great strides with their first crack at an RPG.Hey,they solved the anti-alising problem with thr Ps2,and the games id in Hi-Res!Its unique because you can summon(or call out)monsters to help you fight. You can control 5 people at once(and monsters)! The battles are all done real time and you can chain attacks to make combos(think of Vagrant Story with this feature).Very nice!

This game looks like it has promise

If you have not seen the trailer movie for this game than you are really missing out. It is sooooo hilarous! My friend showed it to me so I am sure you can see it on the Internet, but you might want to check ...even if this game looks like it won't interest you. Take D&D, then have the monsters play D&D and act just as crazy and you have the movie. I didn't ever play D&D, but the people who made that movie must have.

The pictures I have seen looked quite good so it will be interesting to see how this game progresses. Last I heard they were making the frame rate smaller ...but I guess they solved it if it is already for pre-order.

If I had the money for a PS-2, I think I'd give it a chance. Any company that can put out a movie that good can't be that bad. I am biased anyways, I love RPGs.

This game is so much fun

I got a PS2 the day it came out. There was a lot of games but I had to leave quickly so I just grabbed the most interesting looking box. I found "Summoner" and I thought, woah, this game is gonna be amazing! I popped it in, and let a rip. Before I knew it I was bored out of mind! This game is no way up to the PS2s standards and it gets kind of repetitive. I like the story and the sub-quests, but I just couldn't get into it. Bottom line, I should've got SSX.

This game is da bomb.

I really thiknk this game is good. It has many cool features such as:you can rotate the camera 380*, you have nearly endless gameplay, the fighting scenes are awesome. This is a very cool game and I highly reccomend it.

Sub par graphics.... just to start

All I have to say about this game is that it was one of the most dissapointing purchases I have ever made. It is a rip off of diablo and a poor one at that. This game does not fullfill the graphics potential playstation 2 has to offer. Wait for Final Fantasy.

Well i just go my sony 2, and the summoner is the best and well known rpg so far. So i rented it.It seems to be pretty fun, but has less replay value then others like orphen. Other than that i love the game!(Only played for a few days no memory card also)

RPG Innovation...

This game is indepth and graphically amazing. The fight scenes are Zelda like, while experience growth points can be applied according to the player's wishes, rather than assigned level-ups in Final Fantasy type games. An awesome option in this game is a quest journal. It keeps track of all the quests your player is sent apon. Encounters are fun also. You run around in a mini-map covered with 20 or so enemies. You can fight, or leave...if you can find a yellow line.

Any negatives...a lot of loading, but it is worth it. If you can find a memory card, this game is a blast.

Almost a AAA title but falls short.

This could have been a better game and with the Playstation2s' capabilities it should have been. The graphics were good but not better than the Dreamcast titles. The gameplay was very good. No annoying movements like in Resident Evil. The menus are very helpful too. But the loading times were almost unbearable. Wow. I had to go do other things while waiting. If you are okay with all of that so far then you are in for a great story and lots of sidequests. Character progression is based on how you expend points at each level increase. I have put in around 1 hours of actual gameplay and I am totally engrossed in the game. I would recommend renting this one for a day or so and then making your decision on a purchase.

I can not believe that this game was this bad.....

Summoner is NOT worth the money that you will spend on this game. It's graphics are not good as they could be with this new system. I have a few of the other new games and so far they both are better than summoner. Ever Grace is ALOT better. It has a better story line and it is alot more fun to play. Just thought that I would let everyone know before they waste their money.
