fun for Mom

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 2 / 2

We have had this game for about a year. It is a lot of fun for this 43 year old Mom. I don't usually play console games because my button pushing coordination level is about 0. This game, like other wii games, has limited button pushing and more closely RESEMBLES actual driving. The turning of the wii remote is a bit different than turning a steering wheel but can be mastered . It is incredibly fun and addictive. It is also extremely gratifying to occasionally beat my "gamer" son. Your advantage: practice at night a few times when he has to go to bed!

I LOVE this game

My husband bought me Wii Excite Truck and a Wii Wheel for Christmas. Man were my kids jealous! This game is so much fun! It's fun with the wii-mote, but I highly recommend the wheel for an even more interactive experience. I can't wait to get MarioKart and an extra wheel and go head-to-head with my husband, who always whines that I won't let him use my wheel when we play now.

Gift for 7 year old from Uncle

After some initial shipping problems where the local post office forgot where we lived I got the game in time to take to my nephew for his 7th birthday. He was a little frustrated at first, as he tried to master the training sessions, but with a little help from his Dad he figured it out. We skipped some of the training sessions and just ran the game. He picked up how to steer very quickly and it was great fun for him. He tended to press the wrong buttons at first but after about 1/2 hour he got the hang of it. The only thing we( his mum and dad and I )could not figure out, not even after I read the instructions ( I'm an engineer and a computer geek) was how to race two trucks side by side. I left early but was told later that he played with it for 3 straight hours then it was bedtime.
His 4 year old brother did not have the finesse yet to drive it though.

4 year old grandson loves it.

My grandson is 4 YEARS 7 MONTHS. He had been quickly bored with my Wii games. He loves the Wii Excite. He loves it because I have a wheel, and he can steer it like the games at an arcade (Pizza place, bowling alley).

He loves it because there are no rules. He can constantly crash into trees, go off cliffs, and sink in water. No problem. The game allows you to keep going and even awards points for good crashes. In other words, he loves it because he can have fun playing, without having a clue what he is doing. It's a great game for youngsters. It's also fun for anyone else that likes truck racing games.

Best racer for the Wii

Excite Truck is hands down the most fun racing "we've" had with the Wii. My sister, who hates games, loves playing Excite Truck with me, her older brother. This game is completely entertaining and accessible enough that anyone can play. Not to be missed if you have a Wii. I liked it so much that I had rented it almost a year ago, and just recently decided I still wanted to play it.

This game is ALOT of fun. If you're looking for a racing game that many age levels can enjoy, this is the one. Can use two players at a time. Get the 9.99 wii racing wheel to complete the game!

I received the product quickly, in good order and for a good price. However, I cannot adequately give a review of the fun or overall experience as my kids have only played it once so far. They are currently enjoying the sports package that came with the Wii...

Daddy won't let me play it!

We just got this for Christmas and I overheard my 5 year old telling his Granny that his daddy wouldn't let him play this because he was too busy playing it himself! We've all enjoyed this game and have "teamed up" to try to advance to new levels. This is one game you won't regret buying.

Graphics not as good as playstation

Playstation graphics are better. You turn the Wii side to side for steering. I personally found the turning too sensitive and the turbo boost confusing. The turbo boost work against the steering.

The game is fun to play against another friend. The courses are challenging and the competitiveness inherit in the game makes it fun. The game is emercive and the background archade like. Crashes don't consume unreasonable amounts of time. The Wii has no tactile feedback which would be a nice future feature. Single person view would be cool, but is not available in the game. The turbo boost will explode the engine if the usage hits red line. The game is good for numerous hours of play and competition.

A futuristic possible could be remote RC toys using wifi video, real world navigation using wii devices, and RC toys traversing a real world terrain. A perfect combination of virtual interfacing with real world devices in a gamelike environment. Excite has a 1990s arcade feel, instead of a real world situational experience.

Beware this game

If you got a Wii for Christmas with only the included Wii sports or with the Wii Play package, Excite Truck could create household issues. The bottom line is that this game is lots of fun. In fact, it's a whole lot more fun than the basic Wii games, which will mean that your kids won't really find the basic Wii games to be all that interesting anymore. They'll just want to race. That may be just fine with you. But if you got the Wii because you wanted a video game that was more active and less like a traditional arcade game, this may defeat the purpose.

On the other hand, the game is a blast . . . .
