As I opened my brand new ALL STAR BASEBALL 2003 FEATURING DEREK JETER I was biting my fingernails hoping for this game to be better than TRIPLE PLAY 2003 which I had just returned (TRIPLE PLAY is the worst baseball game I've ever played). And it was in every aspect except for game time. The graphics are decent and the overall fun of the game is good but it takes an hour and a half to play one game which makes it very difficult to play all, some or even a few games in a season. Franchise mode is great but as I said you'll end up simulating half the games because they take so long to play. RENT BEFORE YOU BUY SEE IF YOU CAN STAND TO SIT IN FRONT OF YOU XBOX FOR ONE OR TWO HOURS.

3 and 3/4 stars...

This game is pretty good. The MAIN problem with it is the Batting style of the game. It is too hard to hit the ball, but you can put it on easy batting in the options in the middle of the game. I think the outfield plays could have been more simple to do but not too bad. This game is worth buying if you lik baseball/baseball games. But if you are not sure you should rent or play it at a friends house first. This game is actually better than the other game Triple Play. I don't know about World Series though I suggest trying that first also before buying any baseball games, except MLB Slugfest which is a different BLITZ-STYLE type of baseball game where you can hit people.

This is a great game. It is by far the best this year. Smooth graphics, realistic stadiums and surroundings, and great gameplay. The trading card feature is also a plus. I hate to burst the gamer from LA's bubble, but the World Series baseball games that originated on the Dreamcast [are not very good]. Does anyone recall World Series Baseball 2K, you couldn't even control your fielders. This guy obviously doesn't know what he's talking aobut. If your not happy with this title it must be impossible to satisfy you. Anyway great game, must have, BUY IT!!!

Terrible Game

This game is the worst game in the ASB series. It takes the longest time to throw the ball, and the hitting is impossible to do with the curser. You have to put it on "Easy Hitting" and that is way to easy. You hit a homerun every time. You also make a lot of errors in this game. I would recommend renting this game first.

Allstar Baseball 2003 is the best baseball game out there PERIOD.
Though customability is not quite what I would like it to be, the graphics are stunning, as is the gmae play, and the seemingly limitless amount of game modes. It has everything you'll ever need as a baseball fan, from an expanison mode, in which you can create an expanison team in the city of your choice, to your regular home run derby. It has some of the most famous baseball fields in history, from Old Yankee Stadium to new, from the Polo Grounds to Ebbets Field, it's all there.

This game is just silly. The gameplay is fine, though not great, but the ... franchise mode makes that irrelivent. There is NO WAY to see player ratings at all. After you create a player, unless you kept track externally, you have no idea what your player's stats are. When they improve from year-to-year, you have no idea how. Is he faster? Better at defense? Who knows. The only way to extrapolate a player's skill is to look at his stats for the last year-impossible of course for a rookie. There is no way at all top getermine a player's skill at defense.

I like to have control over my franchise and this game just makes it impossible. Its going right back.
