The BEST Online RPG

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 12 / 19

SEGA did an awsome job with PSO. I have had countless sleepless nights and involuntary fastings cause of this game. One of the first online RPG's to hit the market... Gameplay is unique and one of the best. Over 100's of weps to use from and over 10 characters you can customize from head to toe. From the smallest details, like: face paint, proportion, color of eyes, costume, hair, and over 10 different hairstyles for most of the characters. The only real problem with this game is that online many people have GameShark (GS) and Xploder... People that have the GS and Xploder mess up the fun of this game... Which is serching for Rares through out the game. GS and Xploder allows them to make weapons, armor, mags, etc... Hope that for the GameCube version they choose to band the use of GS, Xploder, or anything else that alters the gameplay of PSO online.

PSO to save the day!

Lately Nintendo's been in some what of a downfall. Everyone was waiting for that one game that would turn it around, the one game that would have it all. My freinds, PSO is that game. It brings a mixture of action, drama, mystery, and puzzle into one outstanding video game.
Bringing back the original cast of PSO from Dreamcast and introducing a whole new Force group brings the total number of playable characters to 12. But the ability to mix and match and customize your character to your liking boost's the possibilities
beyond belief.
In mission one you find yourself on a planet infested with mutated native animals. It's up to you to find out who is causing this a stop them.
The range of weapons is nearly endless. From Rifle and Sword to Photon Launcher and Wand. Plus a few extra weapons just for us faithful Nintendo fans.
This game is also playable online. Meaning you can team up with a buddy on the other side of the country and fight evil beside him or with three others. You can trade items, trade cards, make new freinds, and even destroy those who aren't your freinds in battle mode!
With all of this in mind, don't even hesitate to purchase this game. The possibilities are infinite and the funfactor is a definite ten out of ten. Enjoy!

The first phantasy star online was good to the first few months, exploring worlds, killing monsters, leveling up and finding new and rare items. It began to die when cheat codes were created for the game. The game cube version has higher security and if codes do get invented and used on the servers sega has vowed to patch them. This game pretty much follows the origional except there are new, harder monsters, new items, over 30 new character color and body mods, and many new ares to unlock as well as differnt play modes. This isnt based on rumor, sonic team has released this information as well. I have also got the privalge to play the game when i visitted japan 2 weeks ago.

Guys, this is for people who don't own the game. You have to buy this game! I got it being a little iffy about it but it is the best game I have ever played! It may not be a true rpg, IT"S EVEN BETTER!

It may not be the most graphically amazing game in Episode 1, but when you get to Episode 2 it really shows good graphics. The single player by itself is very fun. I haven't played it online yet but it still rocks. Even if single player doesn't suit your needs, They HAVE YOU COVERED! They added 4 player multiplayer too! I was amazed how fun it was! Time flies when your having fun! It's very true on this game! My friends came over to try the game, and when it seemed like they had only been maybe 30 minutes, it had been 2 hours! I can just go on and on how good this game is. It is great for parties! The multiplayer modes include: Battle (Fight against eachother), Challenge (Fight through the level with bad weapons, and Normal ( Co-op pretty much. It's just so fun running up to a guy and slicing him with a saber. And you never get tired of the weapons! There is a huge selection! I like it more than an RPG because you can 1. Make a really cool chacter, 2. You don't have to go into those annoying battle scenes. Well, I might go over the limit so, 3 words: BUY THIS GAME!

SEAGA!!!!WHY????? If your looking at this item here at amazon around 12/9 your wodering why this item is not only out of stock but may be discontinued. The answer lies in SEGA's incredibly stupid marketing plans by not making nearly enough games to meet demand. This game had been totally soled out across the entire country! There isnt a single one left. Its just like the idiotic mistake of sony to not even come close to making enough PS2's on release. Its gonna be at least a month until this game becomes easy to find! ... YOU SEGA! Yea it sounds corny but its true!

PSOE1+2 ROCK!

Perfection comes to mind when I think of this game! Sonic Team couldn't have done better The game itself is 2 parts the old First part that was on DC and now including that and the Second part of the game Episode 2 looks amazing! With gigantic worlds that put the old PSO worlds to shame! You can play online or offline doing many quests and adventuring and how can you beat the sweat characters and weapons!? YOU CAN'T! PSOE1+2 is the best GC game by far and may always be the best GET THIS GAME!

Diablo 2, in 3-d

If you liked Diablo 2 but wished the graphics were more up to date, or that it was set in a more futuristic setting, then this is your game. Although I'm not online yet, I've played with 3 players split-screen and it was a blast. Hours seem to go by very quickly when playing multi-player, and the addition of " mags " ( Basically little pets you feed that increase your strength, defense, etc. ) are a great addition. Overall a very good game.

Not just another RPG

This game was sold out everywhere, and for good reason. This game is loaded with content. Aspected weapons of all types from fire/ice/lightning attacks, to drain life or experience attacks. Armor of all types, many with SLOTS with which you can attatch a myriad of accessories.

The weapons look gorgeous, and some of the rarer weapons will blow your mind, like the double bladed photon sabre (much like Darth Maul's lightsabre) and your character will wield it with similar proficiency. Many weapons (and armor!) have new appearances in the gamecube version. Many items that previously looked just like another weapon of it's class with a different colored photon stream, now have an altogether unique look. The Dragon Slayer from PSO on Dreamcast now looks the the sword Sparda from Devil May Cry!

Also, many people obsessed only over weapons because they were the only thing that changed appearance. Any armor would not show up on your body. Now there are many powerful (and beautiful) defensive items you can wear and see displayed on your character.

There is a dressing room feature in which you can spend 10, 000 meseta to change your character's appearance when you get tired of the one you have. Hey, beats making a whole new character just because you are tired of your look.

There is also an entirely NEW adventure, with NEW bosses in Episode 2. The final boss is FRIGHTENING, as in the first battle he is on the cieling!

I hope this has been helpful, and that others will fill in the blanks.

Best RPG Ever!

I'm not a big fan of the whole RPG world, but since I started playing PSO I have gotten into it. It is fun because you don't pick your moves you atually do everything yourself. The Battling is actually fun, and never gets boring. There is such a large amount of weapons that your always looking for that weapon that suits you perfectly. Personally I like Rifles. I have not been playing it that long, and I already notice that it is ten times better than any Final Fantasy RPG out.

There is so much more to it. Then the best part is you can play it in multi player mode. That is when the real fun kicks in.I havn't even played it online yet. Online gaming with this is probably a blast.

If you are a big fan of RPGs. You must pick this game up as soon as possible.

Greatest game since Super Smash Bros. Melee

I found this game to be very exciting, without even going online. If you want to buy this game, and have alot of friends that live nearby, or like to come over to play a little gamecube, get this game. You can create your own characters, (mine personally are all named after Grandia II characters :D) fight huge bosses, battle each other, partake in a HUGE plotline, without even going online and paying extra! I find this extremely nice, and I think I'm going to go play it right now.
