Words can't describe how amazingly fun and addicting this game is. Be prepared to stay up until 5 in the morning fighting your way past the monsters on Ragol with people from Japan, Europe, and the USA. Worried about communication? Well you shouldn't be because the game translates what you say and it appears on the screen of the other user in their version's language. It's so easy to chat with people because you have a large number of hot keys to assign messages to. All this game requires is the Modem or Broadband Adapter and you're set to go! You don't have to spend $50 on a service that isn't required, unlike PSO for the Xbox.

This RPG is for people of all ages who enjoy fun, simple, and addictive games. SEGA also releases great quests online that you can play with other people. You have the chance to win new rares and trade them with your friends. What are you waiting for? BUY IT!!

This game is awesome!

You can choose from three different classes: Hunter, Ranger, and Force. Also, there are a dozen(?) section IDs that will affect what items you may find. There are many different modes to play in. I can't remember off the top of my head at the moment. Anyway, depending on the race you choose, you will get different attributes.

- Male: Higher ATP (Attack Power)
- Female: Higher Evasion (Blocking)

- Human
Regen: none
Stats: allround
Limits: can't use Traps

- Newman (my favorite)

Regen: TP (Technique Power)
Stats: higher MST (Mental Strength) and Evasion potential
Limits: can't use Traps

- Hucast
Regen: HP (Hit/Health Points)
Stats: higher ATP and ATC (Attack Accuracy) potential
Limits: can't use Techniques

That's a basic idea of what the races are. There is also a large variety of items, including weapons. My personal favorite weapon is the dagger class. The best part about this game: You can play Offline! So you don't need an adaptor. And Techniques are basically spells. Don't forget to feed your MAG! With each transformation it goes through, it will learn a skill called a Photon Blast. There are Blasts that heal you and Blasts that damage monsters, etc. You can feed your MAG basic healing items, such as an Antidote or Monomate.

I really recommend you get the guide. I'd have never been able to beat it without the official guide! I hope I helped.

Game will take your life away.

Most Addicting Rpg Ever

This is the best RPG iv'e ever played. It has so much variety. From doing the quest alone to doing it with 3 friends you'll spend countless hours enjoying this game. It has an interesting storyline, great gameplay, awsome graphics and a great soundtrack. From leveling up to searching for rare weapons, armor, and spells there really wasn't a dull moment in this game. There is one problem though. There are people online who use gameshark (a cheat device) who may do something to you which may ruin the experience. Such as kill you and take your best items! Hopefully this can be fixed in the GCN release. Still, even if it's not, this game is still worth buying regardless of the people who cheat.

This is not your average role playing game. It made it's first appearence on Sega's Dreamcast. Phantasy Star Online took most of American gamers by storm. This addicting rpg will have you glued to the television for hours on end. Choose from a choice of 12 charactors ranging from Forces / Hunters / Rangers. The Nintendo GameCube version promised to be packed with brand new weapons, areas, and enemies! If you thought you couldn't get enough of the Dreamcast version then hold onto your seats for this action packed RPG! With the option of going online you could team up with 3 others and begin your mission to bringing peace back onto the lands of PSO once again. With the Online feature comes brand new quests and earn rare weapons not found in Offline mode. This is a must have if your an RPG fan!

I played this to DEATH on my Dreamcast. Now it has both games from the dreamcast days and Episode 2! Its a phenomenal game that is ALMOST perfect! the ONLY two things I must say stink are the "NON" targeting mode and not being able to rotate the camera. Even amidst these two issues the game still shines BRILLIANTLY! With camera rotation and option for lock on this game could have been the best game EVER made! It shines online the most but is JUST as much fun with two or more players offline. Customization is done very well etc also.

EXCELLENT GAME, BUY IT, YOU WON'T REGRET IT

To start off PSO I&II is a good game. Anyone who says this game is stupid is stupid themselves, I'd like to see them create a video game. In the beginning, you choose from one of four empty slots and create a character. The 3 temporary char. slots are for transferring characters from another memory card. There are 3 classes of characters and 4 specific types in each. The three classes are Hunters (good with swords), Rangers (good with guns) and Forces (good with techniques, which is basically magic). The 4 types consist of Androids, Humans, and Newmans (Newmans are like Humans but with pointy ears.) Androids cannot use techniques like Humans and Newmans, but they can see and use traps. Beginners should use Droids since they regain hp and cannot get poisoned or anything, plus they have no technique points to worry about. TP (Technique points) are like hp but go down when you use spells. You can customize characters and during the game, collect new weapons. That's about where the fun ends offline. No puzzles are involved in the levels, just figure your way around and kill enemies. There aren't even very many types of enemies. In 1p mode there are quests but in 2-4player mode you just play through levels, and in this multiplayer mode you cant save. There are lots of items, almost too many. It's complicated since 2 items with the same name can raise different stats. Be sure to read through the whole instruction book before playing. I have never been online because of the fee but if you can, DO IT ONLINE. There are even downloadable quests. And now that i think of it there are practically no people to talk to offline(only in the pioneer 2 ship where you warp to levels) and there is basically no story and if there is you never really learn it. If you want to go online with gamecube this is your only way right now (and will probably be one of very few online cube games.) Now, you decide if you want this game or not.

I think that people who have known of this and played this all agree it is one of the best games ever released.
so many choices to choose so much possibilities. You pick your class arranging from humans to androids. You customize your clothing gear and so on, and then your're off.You start on a space ship and work your way onto a planet Ragol and discover the truth of the people on Pioneer 1 are no more. The story has little focus on the actual gameplay. You can have optional quest to do easy objectives like find someone or so on to gain money(Mesta). The fun of the game is the multiplayer or online.eaither way you have 4 people you can play with at a time. You and your friends can team up hit off to Ragol and start killing of the inhabitants wich are threatning you.Online you are offered weapons and gear that are not obtainable offline. It is very addicting collecting and upgrading weapons to their own potential.Or to find a rare weapon thta everyone wants including yourself. When you level up you can brag to all your friends then wait till they die and take their cash. You can heal your friends i nbattles or be jerks to them if you're stronger and let them die off and you take all the goods you want.So many people can't put this game down.Wit hall the arrangments of guns, swords, sabes, daggers, rifles, wands, magical spells, and shields you can obtai nit makes it endless. Each location on the planet hasa theme liek a forest, cave, mine, ruin and so on.The bosses are rugged and tough and rewuire team work. You can raise little robots (mags) and they become ike your own helper but you must train them and feed them in order to do so.Whats really nice is the fact that you get episode 2 along with episode 1.Thats a one-up fro mthe Dreamcast version. Now when you're done episode one you can take your gaming exsperience further and go through countless hours of more extravagent roaming of\ver lush envirements like seabeds. The enemies for the most part are appropriate if it's the forest the enemies go along with the envirement.I will say the AI is a little lacking but it's all to fun to find doubts on why not to play it.The controls are easy to get the hang of and soon you'll be a pro at timing shots and getting good accuracy.Buy this and go home happy.
