I haven't played this but it sounds really interesting, especially getting a Jirachi if you preorder it. I'd definatley buy it right away if it wasn't sooooo expensive.

Miraculous how do they do it?

This is a great gamecube game. The graphics are beautifully done and story is top quality. Although not being able to find wild Pokemon is somewhat disappointing the 'snaging' Pokemon is fun there are also quite a few that you can get. The music is outstanding it is not the somewhat beepy noises of the gameboy versions but pianos and other instruments. I had preordered this game and got the bonus disc which is a good feature. Although as with all games there are minor flaws or little problems i have with the game. The first thing isnt really a problem but an observation i have never seen people that look like the peolple in this game at all. Secondly im not to fond of the fixed camera. I know that it is done that way on the gameboy games but personally i dont like it. I dont like the female companion. I like how she moves the plot along but she gets in the way. I try to walk back but i push her and it just doesnt feel right. The biggist problem i have with the game is the colosseum mode. As far as im concerned there really is no coloseum mode. To battle a friend you must have the game a gameboy and a gamecube-gameboy link. And you cant choose your pokemon unless you load the from your gameboy. Overall i would say this new advancement in pokeon is a great one. I would recomend this game to anyone who is looking for a fun easier but not simple game. 5 out 5

... ok another pokemon game... well I can hardly dislike it because I have yet to even try it but it seems like a semi-decent game, true pokemon has been overmilked, overused and annoyed people to the next century but the entire concept is quite good, in this game you actually have a 3D pokemon adventure, which is not bad at all however the graphical capabilities though not bad in any way seem slightly lackluster in comparison to higher end Gamecube games, overall this game is pretty solid but don't judge it by the idiotic franchising, so far only the pokemon videogames and a single comic series (Pokemon Adventures) have been good, no one can deny how great the first 2 games were, though slightly repetitive in the newer ones they are still quite nice, the TV show is aimed at 5 year olds at this point and to older viewers it is REALLY dumb, and it really isn't that good, but still if you ignore the franchising and badly made pikachu dolls and whatnot and get right down to the games it's really not too bad... so try out this game to see if it suits your prefrance and don't instantaniously dissmiss it as a dumb game simply because of overexploited polpularity... that's my two cents so take it or leave it...

Ok, lets start things off, I like this game, and I play it quite a bit, but I"m an old school RPGist and the concept of constant levelling up is a past time of mine, so I just go on auto pilot.

The Story mode is ok, its not the greatest, but it doesnt utterly suck either. Although I do feel that seemed to end it a bit too fast. There are really only a handful of Boss fights and they seem to be over and done with so fast, that was a tad disappointing. The fights also seem to be uproariously unbalanced. The fights leading up to said boss are at one level and then the boss is 10 levels higher than them, and you cant level up in preparation for him. Though its not all bad, these are just a few of my issues regarding it, and there are ways around them once you figure it out, which mind you isnt all that hard.

The real jewel of this game are the colesseums and the battle mode and of course the fact that you can take your Gameboy Advance pokemon and trade them and train them on a much higher graphical setting , ie the Gamecube. The multiplayer mayhem of whooping your friends pokemon can be quite entertaining especially in the 4 way battles.

I have to say I had a great amount of fun in capturing the shadow pokemon and waiting to see if the capture was successful or not. I am hopeful that in the next Pokemon game they put a little more depth into it for those of us who arent 8 or 9 years old.

All in all, this a fun game, but more so I think if you're a Pokemon fan.

NOT! What I Expected

I was expecting Pokemon stadium 3. But this is not it. What it really is, is just a new edition of the Gameboy series.
I've been a Pokemon fan since Red and Blue versions, (the first two games of the gameboy series) Liking it all. But ever since the beginning it has been winding down.
Now with the new Pokemon Colosseum, it took a jump... Down. There's some major problems with this game like, where's the plot? How come you can't go in-between towns? Why so little Pokemon? Why do the bad guys look mutated? Well I can tell you this I was very disappointed at this almost a Pokemon game

Fun but SHort

Pokeomn Colesseum was a really fun game! New enhanced graphics, a new pokemon, and new opponents. But just like the other games it is way to short. The should make one final game where you can catch every pokemon, get every item, and explore every area. Would that not be a fun game or what. But anyways Pokemon Colesseum is a really fun game.

Pokemon Colosseum Rocks!!!

This rpg game just rocks!!! The shadow pokemon you can "snag" add up to a total of 48!!! This pokemon game has a whole different story mode, because you have to save the "shadow" pokemon, which have had the door to their hearts closed by a bunch of bad guys who are planning to take over the world!!! And, you can snag Houndoom,(my personal favorite), Sunflora, Absol, Tyranitar, and TONS more!!! This is a game you've just got to have!!!
The only thing is that there is no wild pokemon in this game, unlike the rest of the pokemon games collection.

You are a nameless hero, with the company of a young lady (also nameless, by this, I mean YOU name them)who has the ability to see and recognize shadow pokemon by looking at their aura. Shadow pokemon look just like normal pokemon, but, with the help of your companion, you will identify each and every one of them.

PS. If you are a person that isn't patient, get ready, because the battles are just a bit slow, but this game really is worth your time.

Has some good points but.....

We were looking forward to this for quite some time as my son and I own and love all the other Pokemon games (as well as a whole lot of others) I was a bit disappointed by some of the features.... or lack thereof.

The RPG component is fun but it would have been nice to pick from a male or female character. But I'll be a boy if I have to.

However, the multiplayer mode was very disappointing. The other games gave you the option of using your GBA or using pokemon in the game. Now we find we HAVE to use the GBA to play multiplayer. What a pain! It takes longer to set up so quick one-on-ones aren't really possible.

Also they eliminated the mini games. WHY? We enjoyed those as a fun way of playing head-to-head.

Since they removed so much (not stock pokemon for multiplayer and no mini games) it would seem they would have a lot more to offer else where (like choosing your RPG character gender) but no.

So this isn't my favorite Pokemon game and certainly not my favorite Game Cube game. Shame.
