Okay, but gets old quickly

This game would be FAR better if the campaign mode weren't the same every time through, or if you didn't have to start at the beginning every time you lose a single battle (playing the same early levels over and over gets REALLY old). It might be worth $10, but don't expect it to be one of your new favorites. I probably wouldn't play it at all if I weren't a huge Risk fan.

This Version by Atari is Terrible

This version by Atari is pretty bad. The sound cannot be shut off even if you select that option. The game terminates suddenly by itself for no apparent reason and Atari/Hasbro/Microprose does Not have a patch. Every now and again, a computer player is able to move troops across several countries, say from Australia to Europe. Even in fast mode, there is still so much animation in each dice throw that the game is very very slow....figure 10 to 15 secs per dice roll - and there are A LOT of dice rolls. The AI is mediocre and it occasionally does some strange things.

I hope an improved version comes out that allows for short fast games with little or no animations.

Harder and more complex than the first Risk.

I have played both versions of risk and while I like both games this version is more of a challenge. You can play three different ways,1. Classic version can be played,2. Tournament, which has many levels with different missions on each level,3. Same Time, which is another level in which all combatants move at the same time. I like the added challenge of same time but you'd better patience and cunning.

Classic game, yet very questionable AI.

Like all great classic games, Risk is challenging and addictive. But even though this game comes with an excellent graphics and many customizable elements, its AI is extremeley questionable. I've played countless games where the computer rolls 4's or higher 70% of the time, while my 4's or higher barely reach even 40%. I've also seen the computer conquer territories with an army half its size and only two or three losses (the AI just conquered my entire continent of South America, which I had garrisoned with 21 battalions, with an army of 12 and only two losses). These bots seem to have no notable skills other than cheating on their rolls. If it weren't for the questionable dice, any intermediate player could probably win the default classic match almost all of the time.

Bought RISK 2 couple weeks ago, played it online second day,at "WAR ZONE".The best of all worlds, can host game on line and play diffrent people around the world.Have played people from NORWAY and BRAZIL in the last 2 days.Just remimber only 1 winner in the game, be a good sport when you lose. I lose more than I win but still fun.
P.S.Does not have to be the "risk server" link to play risk at war zone, ones you have server you chose risk game link.

Good but network game has limitation

Good game play and visuals. Issues:

1. Network LAN play requires a minimum of three players. And, there is no way, that I can see, to create a third player as a computer opponent. Why not allow two players? This is bizarre, no worse, its cuckoo. Totally wacko. Its like today I was at the shoe store and the salesperson said, "we have a sale on socks. Buy a pair and get half of the other." But, I have two feet! What am I going to do with half a pair of socks?
2. Is this product supported by any company? No where to ask anything about it.

Bottom line, its ok.

Just like I remembered it as a kid! The whole family enjoys this computer version of the popular board game.
