Doesn't hold kids' attention

3 Rating: 3, Useful: 5 / 11

My son got this for his 10th birthday. He likes it and played with it a while, but it doesn't hold his attention like Mario or Spider Man games, which he has played with for much longer.

Great, great and great!

The game is one of the best. Almost cannot put it away!

The whole family enjoys this game.

My daughter who is 8, asked for Big Brain Academy for Christmas. I was skeptical she would like it, but as it turned out, she loved it. She finds the tests challenging. My husband and I tried it and liked it as well. We all recommend this game.

My son can't get enough of it. I prefer to have him addicted to this game than to others which don't test a player's mental agility as much.

Really sharpens your mind

I originally bought this for my son, but find that I use it more than anyone. I really think there is something to this "keep your mind exercised" movement. I believe that my memory is improving.

It took me awhile to get my score up to what I felt is an acceptable level, now its fun to sit down for a few minutes each day and "play" Big Brian Academy. My husband is getting hooked as well as my son.

There are lots of practice games and levels, which makes it interesting to continue playing. This is the first time I've had any interest in using one of my son's electronic game players.

I love this game - it is addictive. I find that I have to set a time limit or I will keep just keep playing. There are a wide variety of games and the games cycle through randomly. You have the ability to practice and get better at the games you find difficult. It is interesting to see what games you score well on and which ones you don't. I was surprised to find that I consistently do well on the same games and no matter how much I practice some of the games I can't seem to earn that little gold medal. It is easy to learn how to play the games, so you can play as soon as you insert the game card.

Get a Bigger Brain

I've wanted this game since I first got my DS almost a year ago. It is similar to the Brain Age games, but approaches training in a totally different way. There are 5 areas of your brain to improve, and 3 levels of difficulty per mini-game (about 3 each area) to keep you busy. The games are interesting and unusual, and I'll keep at'em until my brain is really big. The Brain Age games are still faves. Keep in mind this keeps track of your progress and trains your brain in a totally different way. Don't expect BA3, but do expect to have fun.

My 9 yr old loves it

My 9 yr old is transfixed with this game. There are a handful of brain puzzles that score based on speed and accuracy. You can compete with someone else, take a "test" to get a score, or do "practice" games. He has ignored the Monkey Ball game for this ever since he tried it and gets prouder and prouder when his scores improve. Whether you kid will like this or not probably depends on how much he/she likes brainteasers and puzzles; mine loves them, so this hits the spot.

Repetitive, gets old really quickly

Big Brain Academy is a collection of repetitive "games" that test your memory and vision. You can choose to test yourself or practice. Either way, the number of game choices is limited -- and unlocking practice games is a pain as you need to play the same game in each category over and over (even if you score well each time) in order to advance. I'm surprised the other people found this fun. Well, I got a B- on my first test and in a couple days I scored an A. I guess maybe I'm too smart for this. (But I admit I was stupid to have wasted $20 on the game, so I guess I'm no smartie after all.)

Loads of Fun

My daughter is 11 and loves to play this game. I played it and it is fun and actually challenges you to use your brain. Would recommend it.
