Sodina and Meis Triumph!!

This is the first dating sim/ RPG I played, and I loved it! The characters were kawaii (cute) and memorable. The midi's were enchanting and the graphics were good for a ps game. The voice acting was fine and the items you receive in the game are cool. what more can i say but own this under-rated game!

Horrible

This game would be awesome with the exception of a fewthings. You have to date women to gain power. Now what is that tellingus? That women are only good since they make men stronger? ... And the one on one battling is stressing. This game is so horrid, that I've given it to my ex-boyfriend. Don't waste your money by buying this.

THIS IS NOT AN RPG

I am a big RPG fan and I am not necessary critical comparingvideo game to one another. I dont' care when people tell me thatSquaresoft is the best RPG maker. I like a lot of other RPGs that isnot made by Squaresoft like Konami's Suikoden series and VandalHearts, Phantasy Star, WIld arms... etec.... BUT! THis RPG istotally not worth your time and money. It has the stupideststorylines... the voices are badly acted as usual, and the battle modebores you to death. Maybe its because i like team fights than one onone and your friends cheering behind you.... I think the game itselfis kind of perverted since you have to go on dates with these girls. It just shows that the game didnt' have much storyline to it. And,the ending was so stupid that i couldnt' believe i sat there for 30hours of so playing such [junk]. Well... if i have any thing to sayabout this game, is the original jap. opening with Ayumi Hamasakisinging it. And i guess the character design is okay since i'm ananime fan as well... but the storyline sucks and is plainpointless... i dont' know why so many people like this dumb game.Dont' be fooled by all the stars! Rent it before you buy it!

Very good game...but

It can get very "stupid" at times, but, there is a lot of fun in the game and many funny parts in it as well. Females might get "offended" by some of the dateing parts in the game, but please remember its only a game ok, even if the game is a bit "pigish". Very good cartoon graphics.

This is an RPG like no other that you have played before. Beautiful graphics, interesting battle system, and you get to date cute anime girls! All in all, one of the most original games I have ever played. If you liked Tokimeki Memorial, you'll love Thousand Arms!

Lotsa fun!

Just finished this game in the past couple of days and it was akick ........ The dating sequences were oftentimes hilarious and the anime sections were beautifully drawn. I do not regret the purchase.

Excellent and Funny!

Wow! I've been an RPG/Anime fan for several years now and this game gives some of the best elements of both!

The graphics are great. The overworld map and towns are excellent and colerful (my only complaint is the small SD character sprites on the maps, towns, and dungeons).

The sound is wonderful! The voice acting was well done for the main characters (less so for the minor ones) and the musical score was great (the blaring victory music gets repetitive though).

As for controls my only complaint would be the lack of analog control. Aside from that the controls are pretty standard.

The gameplay is where this game really excels! The battles may be different than what we are used to, but once I got the hang of it, I found it fun. Plotting out strategies for rotating my backup to the front lines, and plotting magic combinations to make the battles easier. The main story is okay. Not spectacular, but it was enough to get me interested. The major part where this game shines is the litte extras. Most notably the dates~.

Whith a total of 9 different ladies to date through the course of the game you can expect a lot of humorous questions and even more humorous responses. Gaining the love of these girls through your dates increases you power when forging your weapons with them, (all you need is love) gaining new magic in the process.

The humor isn't just in the dates though. I laughed my head off when Muza first saw Sodina and froze solid from shyness. That look on his face was just too much!

Another smaller extra is the Mini-Games. Each girl has a different game you can play. High scores at their games will increase your relationships with them. They are simple, yet a fun way to waste time.

Overall the game is a somewhat silly adventure fused with a dating sim. WARNING! this game is not for everyone! Even hardcore RPGers may hate this game...I loved it! So, rent first, buy later.

P.S. *9 WOMEN!* eat your hearts out Tenchi and Ranma!

a masterpiece in gamemaking

Perhaps the oddest game in history, Thousand Arms is definitely not for everyone. Packed with innuendo and some awkward themes, it's really not a kids game, despite it's overall demeanor. The soundtrack is also mentionable, though not as strong as the game's dialogue. Most of the main story sequences take place in semi-moving anime sequences within the game environment, with mediocre voice-overs on the side. The battle system reminds one of a combination of Street Fighter and Final Fantasy, with a hue of Legend of Dragoon. Timing (though not in a conventional sort o' way) plays a large role in battle, though only two characters, one enemy and one good-guy, participate at once. The result is an irresistible blend of splendor and character, making this title worthy of it's place in any gamer's collection.
