Please dont bore me...

Any game can be pretty, but give me a RPG with some backbone. If you take away the useless, repeative, and ocationaly humorus "dating" that occures, you have a 65 pound wanna-be blacksmith that thinks he's Gods gift to woman kind, and the (and I mean THE) worst battle engine an experienced RPGer can conceive of. Personally I dont want to play a RPG that makes me dread every battle that I encounter. I sold my copy half way though the first disk to a freind for $5, and I think I ripped him off. Dont bother.

THIS IS NOT AN RPG

I am a big RPG fan and I am not necessary critical comparingvideo game to one another. I dont' care when people tell me thatSquaresoft is the best RPG maker. I like a lot of other RPGs that isnot made by Squaresoft like Konami's Suikoden series and VandalHearts, Phantasy Star, WIld arms... etec.... BUT! THis RPG istotally not worth your time and money. It has the stupideststorylines... the voices are badly acted as usual, and the battle modebores you to death. Maybe its because i like team fights than one onone and your friends cheering behind you.... I think the game itselfis kind of perverted since you have to go on dates with these girls. It just shows that the game didnt' have much storyline to it. And,the ending was so stupid that i couldnt' believe i sat there for 30hours of so playing such [junk]. Well... if i have any thing to sayabout this game, is the original jap. opening with Ayumi Hamasakisinging it. And i guess the character design is okay since i'm ananime fan as well... but the storyline sucks and is plainpointless... i dont' know why so many people like this dumb game.Dont' be fooled by all the stars! Rent it before you buy it!

I'm At A Loss

I am totally at a loss for this game. On one hand it has so many original idea's in terms of both plot and gameplay (And has the closest thing to a sim dating game we'll probably ever see), but the way you actually play it leaves me at a loss for words. It's not that the battle system makes no sense, or is bad even, it's the leveling up that confuses me. You don't get stronger when you level up. Your defense gets weaker when you level up. You get more health but you seem to loose more health at the same token too. I'm am at a loss that the creaters of this game could make so many good idea's and make them so poor because they can't figure out commen sense when it comes to leveling up.

If you want an RPG that's original get this...just don't exspect to get anywhere with it.

This game would be awesome with the exception of a fewthings. You have to date women to gain power. Now what is that tellingus? That women are only good since they make men stronger? ... And the one on one battling is stressing. This game is so horrid, that I've given it to my ex-boyfriend. Don't waste your money by buying this.

A good game! One bad thing about it is the players don't speak like in Jade cocoon and Brave Fencer Musashi.Other than that it was good. The graphics are O.K. In some parts its boring. It is 3 disks long.I think it is to long.I'd give it 3 stars.FF8 is alot better

Good, but with major flaws

The story is interesting, if a bit linear, and the dating elements of the game are hilarious! You'll find youself purposefully saying the wrong thing in order to hear the answers you'll get. However, the battle system is incredibly tedious - the one-on-one system, combined with the high random encounter rate, will have you ready to pull out your hair in no time!

An average game

The dating sim thing is fun the first few times, but there isn't much else to do here. Some of the girls are REALLY obnoxious, and the gameplay is so-so. The Battle system, however, is simply terrible. I played it once and sold it. It's not worth the money, really.

This Could Have Been A Perfect Game, But Oh The Battles!

I liked the concept of a RPG dating Game. I bought it and was impressed with the way they incorporated the voice overs and just the sheer beauty of the game. But did they have to have so many random battles! I am a true RPG fan, but I have never ever encountered so many battles in a RPG game. It was very difficult to make thorough searches of dungeons without running into a fight every step or just standing too long in the same place. I was also turned around by the camera angles. I must have entered the same area a hundred times, because I was constantly being turned around in all directions. I hope that if a sequel is made, that Atlus heeds the voices of this and other gamer and cut back on the long, drawn-out and quite repetitive battles! This game could have scored a 10 if not for the above mentioned drawbacks.

Don't diss the dating, real women don't ask such things

Ignore those people who whine about the graphics. They fail to notice how much more detailed and stylized the characters and enemies are in it. I'm bored of the same old ff7 fights. And think of the people on the map and towns as little SD's running around!

Thousand Arms is different. Different not always necessarily good, but in my opinion this is. After playing games that are much too serious and focus too much on graphics (FF8) its nice to be able to actually enjoy and laugh in a game.

If you give it a chance and maybe get an online walkthrough (just in case right? ^_~) you'll have a great time. This sort of game can actually make you _want_ to defeat a boss. Be it for a corny attack phrase or even a pompous voice. Maybe that character was really really asking for a beating? Many of them do, especially this one guy man was he asking for it... anyway

There are several hilarious scenes in it, very memorable. Overall this game surprised, impressed, amused, enraged, and won my respect as a great attempt at an rpg. 4 stars for some small qualms of mine.

Love the Dating, Hate the fighting

I think this game is one of the best RPG's to come from Japan. I have heard so much abotu the RPG-dating scenario style games. It sounded so surreal, and so when this came to the US, I had to snap it up! It is a lot of fun. The dating makes my fiancee and I laugh out loud and EVERY character that advances the plot has a voice! It really adds a lot to the game. The only problem, is the nonstop random montser battles. If they were a little tougher and a lot less frequent, the game wouldn't have been such an easy walk through for me. For adults and long time Roleplayers, this game is a MUST have!
