I got this game and a DS and a couple pther games for my DS for Christmas 06'. This lets you be a vet, and a sim at the same time. It is so much fun I have yet to become bored with my game ( if i ever do). This could keep me entertained, hrs on end. I reccommend this game to EVERYBODY!!!

I love this game but it can get boring if you are playing it non stop.

When you first start oput the game you create your person and your pet.

You can change your person's hair,shirt,pants/skirt,etc.

With your pet you can change it's fur, size, etc.

Patients come to house so you can treat their pets to get money.

GET THE GAME!!!

Does anyone really like this game at all?

I got this game from my aunt for Christmas. I played for a while, soon to discover that it was hard and confusing. I think the time passes to quickly! I mean, I just told my sim to use the shower, and about five minutes later our time, a notice said, "Is that smell you?". I don't have time to let my sim shower every few sim hours. I need to treat my patient. And why would anyone want to fastforward the time in the game? It was hard for me to walk around in my house or whatever too. Just thought I would share my opinion with anyone.

Read my other reviews, "Give Dogz a chance" and "Nintendogs is an awesome game".

Cons in this game:
- Limited dialogue repeated over and over
- Limited customize options for Sims and Pets, limited Pet names (it's annoying having 2 Shelby pets at the same time)
- Limited animations, Sim will get in the shower with clothes on but never showers
- The Sim you control is forced to sleep until next day because the clinic closes at 5 PM, which leaves no"free-time" or extra time with patients
- Park is useless because you can do the same things at home
- Awful cooking system.
- Limited diseases and treatments

You get to name your sims "Dr" something, in my case Kyo, and Kyo is forced to adopt a pet when he first starts the clinic. I didn't see why, I made a pet and then I put it in the storage area, because he took up place in the kennel. (you can only have 3 patients at a time). Anyway, as soon as you wake up a patient arrives. The discussions are so limited:

Kyo: Hello
Owner: Hello
Kyo: How are you?
Owner: I'm good / I don't feel good / I'm bored, I had to wait forever
Kyo: How's your pet?
Owner: He looks ill / he looks sick / he smells / he is ugly
Kyo: Okay, let's take a look.

That's how limited discussions are, and besides some comments from your own Sim (also limited), the conversations are the same over and over.

Anyway, you examine the pet and you should determine it's illness with different tools.
Stetoscope for illness, brush them to see if they have fleas, feed them to see if they have worms and x-ray for swallowed objects or broken bones.
What annoys me to no end are two things about this.
1: There's a "friend" meter on you and the pet, everytime you use something to examine them the meter goes down drastically and the pet runs around like a maniac making it hard to examine them, so you have to chase them with the stylus. The other way around, the only way to make friends with them is to feed them or pet them (annoyingly, if you pet them "wrong", they hate you), and the meter goes up really slow, so there's really no reason to try being friends with the pet.
2: No matter how many times you treat a pet, you never learn to see the signs before doing the examination, forcing you to do them over and over. The pets arrive looking just fine. My "favorite" part about the game is, you start examining a pet and it runs around the table like you're going to kill it. No flue, brush it but no fleas, it keeps running and running...
Then you take an x-ray and it shows the dog has a broken leg - and the dog starts limping! Then you admit it, when you look at it in the kennel it BOUNCES up and down. Then when you take it to the grooming table, it suddenly starts limping again. Talk about lazy animators!
The same goes for illness, the pets starts to "cough" when you've diagnozed it, but no signs of coughing before that. It's annoying and looks stupid.
I also found it unneccesary to bandage the dog like a mummy, when they've only broken their leg. I was embaressed when the owner showed up and their put looked like a mummy!

Some of the illnesses in the game can easily be treated at home, I mean, come on, why would you take your pet to the vet if it is UGLY?! Yes, they come in and say "My pet is ugly!", and the only "cure" is to dress the pets up in silly costumes. I don't like seeing pets in silly costumes, so I refuse to treat any of those pets, but the only option I have is "Send to a specialist". Why would somebody need a specalist for that?!
Also about the specialist part, when your kennel is full, you can't take anymore patients, you need to send the new patients to the specialist, but you HAVE TO go through the whole introduction before you can send them to the specialist. Couldn't you have a sign that said you couldn't take more patients so no more patients would arrive?
And sometimes the dog/cat is just dirty and need a scrubbing, who bothers a vet with that??.

The game seems uncomplete to me, it tells you to not let pet needs go down to low or the owners will be unhappy, but as soon as I've treated the animals, I just ignore them. As long as "Healhty" is displayed, ownes don't care if I've ignored their pets for days. Their appearence are zero since I don't dress the pets up, but I never recieve a complaint or less payment. It also works the other way around, even if I spend loads of time making the pets happy, I don't recieve any additional payment/bonuses, so I never play with the pets since it's beyond boring. The same goes for Hillary Duff, even though the game makes a big deal of treating celebrity pets, nothing special happens. Same dialog, same payment, same treatments.
The game also tells you to look after your own pet, I just put it in the storage area and haven't seen it since. It dosen't die either, it remains in your inventory forever.
Also, you can purchase "Flea Schampoo" and "ultra flea schampoo", but they don't have different effects, you have to still treat the animal for 3 days.

this game is just an okay game. i totally thought that this game would be soo better. its kinda like the pc games. the graphics are very good, but its not that fun. unless you want to be a vet when you grow up, its not that good.
