Not Your Typical Sims Game!

3 Rating: 3, Useful: 0 / 0

This is nothing like previous Sims titles for the DS. It is not like any other Sims title at all. I found it boring to be honest. You are a vet who takes care of other people's animals. Your day pretty much runs 9-5. You do not have time outside of business hours to take care of needs. There are no real goals other than reputation and money.

I gave this one over to my daughter. She only plays it when she is totally bored of everything else. It is just not the quality product we have come to love from Maxis/EA Games. I have owned almost every Sim title all the way back to the very first Sim City. This is the first time I have actually disliked a game from this line.

I like making the pets, but there's not much to the game. You'll get bored real fast.

I was really excited to get the game Sims 2 Pets because I love other Sims and Sims 2 games, but I was disappointed in this one. As it is fun when you begin to play it, it gets really boring after you play for a while. You also don't get to so anything else but care for pets, so that gets boring too. I soon learned not to play this game for long periods of time, so it helped it get less boring after that, but still not totally satisfactory. The Sims 2 game for GBA was better, if possible, since DS games are usually more enjoyable. I recommend this game if you really like animals or want to learn about being a vet. You have to actually devote your time to this game if you want to do good in it, which I refuse to do. I sort of liked this game, but it was only average fun. You really should try this game to see if you like it, though, because your opinion may be different from mine.

A fun animal game but boring Sims game

Would you like me to tell you about the title? Okay. For one thing. This is rated E. Woo hoo! A three-year-old cane play it! Where's the fun in that? Most Sims games are rated Teen which makes it a whole lot more enjoyable. Second, I had no idea you where playing a Vet and that made it worse. All you're doing is playing a boring character and healing animals that can only get sick in 3-5 different ways. It gets quite annoying. You can't really interact with anyone either exept for talking with you're patients (who get bored waiting). I would not recommens this to ANYONE!

Not as good as the Ps2 version

I had high hopes for this game, being a die hard sims fan. I was hugly disapponited. It was a little complicated to pick up how to cook, and how to place new furniture (I still haven't figured that out) You sim gets tired after about 2 clients, and you can only hold 3 pets (including your Own ) at once. this limits the game alot. your sim is usuallty to tired to do anything with the pets, and it gets really repeditive. I wouldn't recomend buying it, but if you really wanna try it, borrow it from a friend.

Cute little game

It's pretty much the same thing over and over again. Like, they're fun things to do, and you keep earning points. I'm not too sure what the goal is, but I think I'm getting close to being a professional doctor or whatever it is I'll become. If your reputation is high enough, you start getting celebrities as patients. I haven't seen one yet, but the little booklet says so.

You earn a lot of money that I'm not too sure on how to spend. I bought a bigger house to have more room for things that I spend money on, but my sim takes forever to get from the bathroom to the reception room. It kind of sucks.

The way it gets harder is that as your rank raises, patients will be coming in all at once. It's annoying because they show up without an appointment then complain if they have to wait too long.

Also, when the clinic closes, you can't fill your sims needs. You have to wait until the clinic opens in the morning. Like, sometimes the clinic will close and my sim will be well rested but needs to eat like real badly. My patients suffer the next morning because I have to feed my sim when they show up.

It's not a terrible game like some people are saying. It just appeals to a particular audience. If you're looking for something fairly easy and similar to Nintendogs, then this is a good game. You get to take care of pets, dress them, play with them, and train them.

I would actually say that it is more for kids than adults or teenagers. Probably like between 6 years and 13 years. They'd probably enjoy it the most. If you want to buy it for a kid, they'd enjoy it but if for yourself, you're better off probably getting a different game.

Kind of boring...

I got this with my new DS for Christmas. I really love the Sims and Pets, so my boyfriend thought this would be a good game. At first, it was, but like other reviewers have said, there's no "ultimate goal". It's very repetative. All the animals have the same illness. You can't build your own house to suit your needs, there are only 3 available. All of my stuff can't even fit in the big house! I had fun playing it for the first few times, but now I'm just kind of bored.

A few of my biggest irks are:
1.) Once you bring a pet to a certain station and are done at that station, it goes directly back to the kennel and you have to retrieve it if you want to go to another station.
2.) The kennels only hold 3 pets and I couldn't fit more than 1 kennel in the house so you're very limited. If you have 3 pets in the kennel at one time, and other sick pet comes, you have to send it to a specialist.
3.) Once you buy a better quality item, I thought that you could sell back your lesser quality item (couldn't you do this in the Sims on the computer?) Now it just sits in your inventory.

It's fun for a little while I just wish that the more pets you saw and the more money you got, there would be bonuses or something. Oh well...

Like other reviews posted both my husband and I are fans of the Sims PC games. So we figured that our 10 year old daughter would love this game. We were wrong. After tring to play the game ourselfs we found it to be borning and quite hard to grasp onto the concept of the game, esp for a younger child. I would not recommend.

My dayughter, who loves our 'Sims' for computer game - got this for Christmas and by the end of the week she was bored... I don't think she even played it once in January... Wish I would have gotten her a different game.
Don't waste your money!
