Despite it's age, still a fine platform game!

Despite the age of this games' original version on PlayStation this is still a very entertaining platform game. Of course it has some significant issues which I will now talk about.

This game, first of all, is not easy. There are many places during the course of the game where you may get frustrated with the difficulty of the level. It's not that it's hard to figure out what to do to finish the level, it's that it's difficult accomplishing what is obviously necessary to advance through the level. While the levels can be tough to get through, practice and memorizing will get you through eventually.

A second problem is the fact that extra lives are very difficult to come across, and once you get them, finish the level, and then save, there is no getting them back. This forces the player to gather 100 Tings in order to get extra lives if you can't locate the actual extra lives. Another problem is the fact that I don't think there is any way to get continues back after you have used them.

This game is also pretty short. While it very attractive visually, this means that there was less room available to make lots of levels (at least that is my own theory). This is not like Super Mario World where there are more than fifty (if memory serves) levels in the game. While, short, it is still challenging enough to require a considerable amount of time to complete.

All in all, this is a very good game to buy if you're into platform games. Even if you have it PlayStation, it is worth getting a portable version. Despite it problems, this is still a game that should be in every GBA collection.

Rayman Advance is an amazing game for gba. Gameplay can be very difficult at times ( a good thing) and it takes a considereable amount of time to beat it. Stunning graphics are placed throughout the game and make it a lot more enjoyable. Plus, you get fun powers, bosses that aren't THAT hard, puzzles, mini games, and a great ending. To note on the ending, unlike many reviews, you CAN defeat the main boss. The VERY last level is challenging and loads of fun!!!! i reccomend this game to anyone!!!!!!!! IT IS WORTH BUYING!

I bought this for my 5 yr old son. He loves this game. I play it with him, it is fairly challenging for me, but he is the gamer and does very well with it. He is wanting the rest of the Rayman additions. Great Game for hours of game play.

This game proves that you don't need limbs to get around

The original Rayman (made by Ubi Soft) sold up to a million, and that same game comes back on GBA in an amazing 60 level stunner that shows off what GBA can do. Every bit of the game in every level seems to come alive with artistic power, but the graphics aren't the only good point of the game. They always say "Never judge a book by its cover." Well, you probably should here, since it's about as good as it looks. This game contains fast action and tricky levels that will test your reflexes. The play control is very good; it is easy to direct Rayman no matter what you have to do, which could be using your hair to fly away from water, flying a mosquito through enemies, or going through a series of ramps at high speed. It isn't the most original platformer, but it is very fun and challenging. In fact, probably one of the hardest side-scrollers I've played in a while. Like I said before, this is where you SHOULD judge a book by its cover, since it is as fun as the graphics are good. I suggest you find some screenshots of this game to see how fun this game looks and plays.

graphics-ok
gameplay-ok
sound-ok
value-ok

This is not an easy game to reveiw. Everything is average. One thing that really stands out in this game is the backgrounds. They are well done and go well with the game. One very good thing about this game is that it is fairly long with 5 worlds and about 20 levels. If you like side-scrollers then get this game. If you are a fan of heavy duty action don't get this.

simply amazing

words can't begin to describe how brilliant this game is. i mean where else can you shoot your fist as projectile, swing from hoops and use your hair as a helicopter and beat up giant mosquitos? games don't get any better than this (especially when its got more than double the amount og levels than the average game plus the levels are long and challenging)

This game, is one of, if not the, best GBA game on the market.
It's graphics are incredible, and it's storyline is too! Good audio too.
It's got 70 levels of pure fun and exitment.
