This is a really good game, first off. if i had never played the tenchu series, i would think it was amazing, but... i have. True, it has all kinds off dope new weapons, (big plus) and other cool features like ninja sight, where you can zoom in on something before you use a weapon or grappling hook. Yes the camera work is lackluster at times, especially in combat, but hey, youre supposed to avoid that anyway, so just be stealthy and youre problems solved. my issue, though is AI. the guards are stupider than in the previous 2. if they find a body (which they wouldnt if you could still drag bodies) theyre alert for a couple seconds, then they say, "aw, forget it" and walk off. Lame! Lame! Lame! also, i was able to elude guards that saw me and were fighting me, i was able to elude them by slipping around a corner 3 feet from the guy, while hes looking at me. he sees me duck around the corner, and hes baffled? so, yeah, the AI's not as promised. the levels are awesome, good, well though out layouts. theyve got awesome artists, the scenerys great, a little polygonal, but i saw a fire, and i looked close up and the flames were near perfect, so im impressed with most of the art stuff. Im happy just to have a new tenchu to master. Definete thumbs up, buy it if you can ,(or gta vice). but probably rent it for a couple weeks, beat it, and move on to the next great game.

This game is a blast. Take out your aggression by snapping necks, slitting throats and crushing heads as you stealth-kill your way up to the final boss for a major Butt Kicking. Rikimaru, Ayame and a bunch of old favorites return in this dark tale of betrayal, sorcery and martial arts. Master the hidden Ninja arts like faking your death or clinging to ceilings. Unlock Tesshu the assassin and play through the scenerio of a Sonny Chiba movie. If you love exploration, martial arts, demons and assassins play this game. Now lets track down Onikage!!!!!!

Great Game, but...LOADING..LOADING... not Perfect.

For a person not familiar to the series, this is a great game. You really get sucked into the gameplay. The atmophere is WONDERFUL. And now the PROBLEM. One is the camera angles. Maybe the angles were created for the game's difficulty, but sometimes I wish you can switch the camera angles. Maybe from third person to first person. AND NOW THE REAL PROBLEM IS THE LOADING. Simply said... lot of them. I can't imagine what the PC version may look like if they make one.

...P>Anyways, all joking asside, this game is amazing. If you aren't a patient gamer and you want something that you will be able to easily beat, pick another game. If you love a good challange and don't mind having to sneak everywhere, this is definately your game. It's very similar to Splinter Cell and Metal Gear Solid in the way that there is a huge emphasis in stealth. This game has frustrated the hell out of me at times, but I'm very glad that I stuck with it and finally beat it. There is a total of 27 missions that take place in 11 different levels (this is including the secert "through the portal" mission and level). The graphics are great and the controls are awesome, but might take a little while to get used to. Once you get the controls down, you'll love how you can manipulate the characters (3 in total). The only thing I don't like about this game are the camera angles. The camera angle can be very frustrating, but once you understand the controls, you'll most likely take advantage of the fact that tapping the L1 button redirrects the camera so that it is behind your character facing whichever way he/she is. ... This game rocks,
Mike

This game is for those of you that like to think. The goal is to sneak around various areas and *try* not to seen, or heard. The AI works as would be expected... wait, strike that... it works better than most games out there currently(see it work great in Splinter Cell, and see it work horribly in SW:Bounty Hunter). Even if you die, you have to start over from the beginning, you just do not mind as much. The camera works fairly well for you, instead of against you.
This is a game that I just play over and over, even when I have newer games that I have not beaten. Just that fun.

this is the best

I been waiting for the Tenchu series to have a better game, and As good as those games were, though, Tenchu 3 beats them hands down. The graphics are much better, as you would expectas you krow. gameplay are also much improved, largely due to the less steath kills of analog control. Steal kills are still the mainstay of the game, and the cut scenes for them have been improved better. I really like tesshi stealth kills. There also much better moves to choose from like holding on the ceiling and kill them with one blow.

I loved the first two Tenshu games, but this one is definitely the best. Yes, at first the controls take some getting used to but after a little while they become second natural like the first two. I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews except to say that those people did not give the game a chance.

What makes this game especially great is the fact that you can beat each level on 3 different layouts, which makes this game seem a bit longer than the first two (still wish it was longer).

Worth the wait

I had been playing this game for a while. Gameplay is almost the same as the first Tenchu released for PS1 and very similar to Metal Gear Solid. Graphics has a big improvement, still it is quite hard to play with. The story line is also very similar to the old one (up to chapter 3 at least, which is where I'm now), too. There are 3 characters to choose with, but only 2 are available at first. There is also a multi-player mode (co-op or deadmatch), which could be cool... sorry, poor me has no one to play with, so I cannot tell you how fun this multi-player sessions could be :(

Very alsome game!!

This game is not for the average-skilled gamer.

Don't get me wrong. Anyone can play it and enjoy it immensly. Anyone who wants to master it will have to be smart, skilled, and patient.

I put a good 40 hours into this game and I'm not bored of it. Read a different review to find out game details, and to read time and time again that this game is amazing and totally worth buying.

Get this game if you want a really good one. When you do here's some advice:

Try and get Grand Master status in all the layouts with all the characters. It's pretty hard at first but before you know it you'll get progressivly better. You'll know which items to use and when to use them. You'll know when to run in for the stealth ... and when to stay on the roof. Put in enough time and you'll be extremely proud of your throat-slitting skills, and your grand array of sweet items.
Beat it with both characters to get a really cool third. Beat it with him and you'll get a awesome unique level, with a really hard boss at the end of it. Be patient and perceptive to be successful.

Good luck.
