When i played this game I was so impressed. It looked so real.
If you are a fan or not this is a game for you. I hated star wars

Star Wars the clone wars is itself a great game for ages 12 and over. The idea of being able to walk and fly both in the same game changes everything. In some missions you walk with your laser sword or laser gun protecting yourself for badguys. In others, you fly huge spaceships and relive the movie Star Wars Attack of the clones. It's a pretty easy game and the only bad thing is the game is a little too short. Most people pass it in a week or two but it takes around a day if you play all along. You can play multiplayer in two ways: drive spaceships or attack badguys who come in larger and larger groups at a time with your sword. I give it a 5/5 for the graphics, gameplay, story and overall.

you are but a mere republic soldier who is thrown into a very big melee style war situation.its very intense and very fast paced.the best advice i can give is just bail behind anything quick and only pop out when youre sure youll kill an enemy.the object is to gain flags at other enemy posts thus taking them over.after much ado,you may win the war.then you realize youve won but one battle.you see a very large map and it shows the big picture of the war.DONT BE DISCOURAGED!the longest i lasted was 10 minutes and was hiding or in a machine the whole time.my average was closer to 1:30.its great fun if you like combat like in risk but with a visual video game to watch for the real feel.

Fun

Good graphics, and tons of action. This game is a little challenging, but it wouldn't be any fun if were too easy! Me and my 8 year-old son both enjoy it.

Was expecting more

The graphics in this game are the best. They run so smoothly. The sound is awesome, and the controls arent hard to figure out at all. This game has a cool idea, where not only do you walk around with your lightsabers, you get to piolet speeders, jets, and some land robot vehicles. This game will have you playing for hours it is so addictive, you just can't put it down. Even if you don't normally like star wars games you should rent this game and see what i mean. Its an overall great game for anyone. I defenetelly think you should rent or buy this game.

This game is being given away, that should say enough.....

Well well well, SW:Clown-i mean Clone wars, the game for XBOX with those great commercials. Well i BORROWED this game from a friend who got it free with his Xbox, so i expected something like that of Jet Set Radio Future, a basicaly fair game to just give someone a taste of the power of the the Xbox, but no....JSRF is ten time that of SW:CW, yes i said ten times.... THIS GAME IS JUST ANOTHER MOVIE BASED TRAVISTY to befall the star wars univers.....I, to tell you the truth, honestly hate this game, let me tell you why:

1:gameplay: This game is one of those various chore games where you play in vehicle, on foot, and ect... you must complete various annoying tasks that will bring your nerves to near destruction, annoying annoying gameplay...especialy on foot...

2: story: THE STORY SUCKS A**, i mean it, it is just another pointless mission instead of plot(which is always a bad thing, you cannot make a great game that is mission based unless it is a military sim{mech assault, rainbow six, ghost recon}.). The voice acting is terrible, i mean really, if Hayden Christian wasnt bad enough, now we have people trying to voice act him, it didnt even sound like, him((knowing my luck it is him voice acting, boy i would feel like an idiot)), nor did the others sound the same.

3:graphics: Bland, terrible representations of the Star Wars univers....cut scenes are ugly and full of chop, ect.......i could go on and on, but why.......

IF you WANT TO SEE WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT, I HOPE FOR YOU SAKE A FRIEND OF YOURS BOUGHT IT AND YOU CAN BORROW IT, BUT IF NOT, RENT IT, YOU ARE SURE TO HATE IT......

as a closing statement i belive that the person/persons responsible should be shot.......no, not really.....just punished..........Play KOTOR instead......

Diverting and Initially Fun

I am an OLD school gamer. Atari 2600 was something I got for Christmas in '83 and now, twenty years later, my finace gets me an xBox for x-Mas '03.

Why do I bring this up? Because the freebie game, Clone Wars, is very similar to Combat, the freebie that came with the 2600. Both games are fun to START playing, and they offer plenty of vehicle variety. In Comabt you use a tank, a plane, a bi-plane, a bomber. In Clone Wars you've got all kinds of things to drive - tanks, walkers, animals, transports, etc. In Combat you could play on various terrains - mazes, in clouds, empty spaces. Ditto for CW - maze-like interiors, snowy worlds, rainy worlds, deserts. So, as far as first-play gaming, Clone Wars basically reminds of Combat on steroids.

The movie scenes are a bore and I skip over them. The actual SW: Episode II was bad enough the first time around. Its a bit annoying that you have to wait until certain pre-mission scenes are played out - if you've played the scene once, you should be able to fast forward through it.

Shoot and blow up things. This gets a bit dull after a few plays, especially if you know the codes (which are dead easy to find on-line). Even without the codes, you get throught the game with moderate play in a few hours or days (I tend to play in 45 minute spurts so it took me about a week). Racing around in the fast vehichles is quite fun and driving the big transport with the multiple weapons destroying everything in my sight is a nice way to blow off steam.

The best bits are the on-foot stuff. Sadly, there are very few missions featuring this. The fighting is fun but limited in moves. Also, if you stay in a scene too long, things begin to repeat (the same guys come to attack you) and things get dull.

Speeder bikes and Strapes (?) are the fastest things in the game and they are the most challenging. The mission that take you through the scrap heap is still difficult and enjoyable.

The story, as mentioned by others, is weak. I don't really care about what I am suppose to be doing. I don't really feel like I am controlling the characters in their development. Its like those old, Choose Your Own Adventure books. There are limited options but you are given the illusion that you can shake things up. I am looking forward to playing Knights of the Old Republic. I understand thats a bit 'deeper' (i.e. you can become a bad guy if you want. Try shooting your allies in this game and you just get a stern warning).

A word on 'Bonuses' - the idea is that bonues will keep the player coming back for more gaming after they complete the mission. But the bonuses are not interesing - find the missing R5 unit, make sure everyone in the squad survives, blow up this before you blow up that. Bonuses should be mini-missions: Mace wanders off down a hallway and has a one-on-one with a bounty hunter or something. Also, when you do acheive the bonus objectives, you should actually get something for your troubles, but in Clone Wars, so-far anyway, all you get are multiplayer maps!?!?! Is this to encourage me to play multiplayer more?

Overall, there is some fun to be had in Clone Wars, but little to keep you coming back after you 'win'.

Okay, but there are probably better

Weel, I'm not saying the game is bad, I just didn't like it as much as I expected.

The graphics are phenomonal. They couldn't be better. The cutscene graphics are just plain perfect. But the bad thing is that it freezes a lot, and staggers. I don't know, that could just be because it's on the same disk as Tetris Worlds, but I think it's just the game.

The controls are easily mastered. One button is primary fire, one is second, and the rest are just really easily mastered. Some ships do different things, so the B button may do a different action of different ships. But B is for special attack, so you know it's going to be different on every ship.

The gameplay is okay. The missions take place on four planets. THe missions on one planet are close to the same, but they are extremely different from another planet's missions. You shoot different a wide variety of ships, but you can't blow up your own ship. There are some levels where you get to run on foot, but those parts aren't really fun. I didn't really enjoy shooting the whole game, and it didn't appeal to me. That's mainly why I gave it three stars.

The game has submissions which make it even harder, but more frun. They consist of just shooting all of a certain type of ships, and keeping your whole army of ships alive. These got boring because you repeatedly had to do the same thing. There are also powereups. What stinks is that they only last for about 20 seconds. They consist of mainly invincibility, and strong fire. You can find more ammo throughout the game to, and ship's health. There are no permanent upgrades.

Overall, I didn't hate this game, but I didn't love it. There are more good points than bad points. If you love shooting with ships, get it. If you're unsure rent it.
