I think this is one of the most awesome war/strategy games of all time. A fast-paced base-builder in which the player must think on his feet in order to build a strong foundation for the rest of the game. O.K graphics, interesting story (If only the missions had more variety one that no strategy gamer should be without!

Red Alert, one of the best Command and Conquer games yet.

I bought this game from a software catologe. I had also had Command and Conquer Gold Addition and Command and Conquer No.1. 1 and two were great, there just so addictive. The same is with Red Alert. As everyone who has ever played Command and Conquer knows, it can be a little frusterating when you try 15 times to beat a mission and never win, but what decent game isn't like that? Overall a great game.

A great game

This game rules. It's a lot of fun. I'm so bad at it I can't even beat the game on easy and i still love it. Skirmishs are awesome. There are so many different strategies to use, you'll probaly never figure out all of them. And the expansion packs make it even better(I suggest aftermath, which you can get with the regular game in the arsenal package, But I hear counterstrike is decent also.) I also haer that it is cool to play on the internet, but i've never got that mode to work. The only domnside is you can't play skirmishs. But at this point, I wouldent buy. You will probaly start to play, Love it, Play it alot, Get the new one in october, and throw out the old one. This is a great game, But i suggest you wait for the new one.

The most addictive game ever!

Red Alert is the greatest game. You engage the Solviets with strong tanks, nukes and high technology like the Chronosphere. If you get bored of games quickly, this doesn't get boring. I've had this game for a long time and it hasn't crashed once. If you like stradegy games, then this is the perfect for you.

FUN!!!

I liked this game because it is fun and challenging.

Good... but not great.

While the game was enjoyable, it is noticably outdated and sometimes the controls are not quite responsive (i.e. it takes a few seconds before your units will begin to move). But you would like it if you are a C&C fan, but for everybody else should go straight to Red Alert 2... MUCH BETTER!

The Funest Stratedgy Game Ever!

One of the strategy classics. Plays well even though quite old by computer standards. Movement controls are intuitive, and if questions arise the on-line manual is excellent.

Game can be played against computer, across the net, over a modem. Numerous options for game play include map choice, side (Allied or Soviet) with varying equipment, play to the death, or capture the flag, include base building or just fight, and one even has an option to design your own maps.

There is a wonderful introduction that includes some (I believe it is 15) missions for each side. Each successive mission increases in complexity and as a side benefit trains you in most effective use of various equipment. The missions do not have to be played, your choice, but they are quite fun and challenging in both manual dexterity and use of strategy and tactics.

Overall, a keeper. Though with the new graphics cards and much faster CPU's the graphics are not quite the wow they were when this first came out!

Oh...and big point....for $9.95 you can't go wrong!

An all time classic

The real time strategy (along with Warcraft) got a change when Westwood released this game.

Counterstrike made it better.
