She's a bad-ass

This game is ridiculously addictive and excellent. I literally can't stop playing the thing. However, there are places where you could put yourself into a situation in which you have to go back and repeat the previous level in order to avoid a non-correctable error. Overall, very enjoyable, and even entertaining to watch someone else play. Graphics are fabulous.

Don't Do It...

I bought this on accident. I thought I was buying the TRIIgame, so I just want to make sure you don't make the same mistake. Itdoes contain 3 levels from the real TRII game, but not with all functions that the game offers. ie, video clips. If you are looking for something to cheaply show you how TRII works, then buy it. But if you are going to spend the money, you might as well just buy the real game and truly enjoy your purchase. END

What the? Distribution Fluke?

I got this for a gift becausemy parents were tricked into thinking this was the full game, as many people are, i'm sure. Whoever distributes this has got to make clear on THE BOX that this is not the full version. The version I got came in a full sized software box and cost as much as a two year old FULL game, considering how fast games improve. Even if I was buying amd I knew it was a demo I would not pay more than a few dollars because it has no options,(anyways, if you want a DEMO, you can get them free off the internet, usually from the distributors web site.) such as to change the controls, or even see what the controls are!

The best of the TR series

If you don't own this game and you like the TR series, I recommend buying it. It is such an improvement over TR (which is a great game) and it is much funnier than TR3 (too hard.) Lara kicks butt in this game and I love playing it.

A Sequel the Overshadows the Original

From the Great Wall of China to the canals of Venice, Tomb Raider II is the rare case in which a sequel is better than an original. In fact, I find this game to be my favorite of the series. In it the legendary Lara Croft sets out to find the Dagger of Xion. In her quest she navigates the globe, and even takes a couple of trips to strange and magical new worlds.

Tomb Raider II offers significant improvements over the original, and its game play exceeds the other games that follow in the series. The game has drastically overhauled weapons and artificial intelligence. Though the puzzles are not as hard as later versions, they still are quite difficult. Lara has new moves, many new weapons, and more dangerous foes. What more could a Tomb Raider fan - or even the casual gamer - ask for?

I highly recommend this game, whether you are an avid Tomb Raider fan or somebody new to the series. I don't believe you will be disappointed - in fact, you will probably find many hours of action filled entertainment. And if you do enjoy it, I strongly recommend other games in this series.

I love you, Lara!

This is somewhat outdated but is the best in the moderate Tomb Raider series. It is isolated from the other games in that it causes little frustration through jumping puzzles and famous spike traps. Instead, it is more of a shoot-em-up (bang on my kind of game).

PROS: Before considering the gameplay or graphics, I will make a point that Lara really is hot! Her model is lovely ...
The gameplay is where this beauty of a game shines. The engine has been updated and handles the game brilliantly. Additionally, Lara can pilot a multitude of vehicles, such as a speedboat, a snowmobile, etc... The snowmobile is even fitted with machine guns that truly rips baddies up!

The graphics was good in the game's time, but has become severely outdated since then. It is still good enough to allow me to want to play this again and again. Still, it will work on extremely low-spec machines (such as those from five or six years ago).

Til now, I have not mentioned the game's plot. It involves a simple race for an artifact, the Dagger of Xian. According to legend, it gives the holder the power of a dragon. Of course, if you know anything about Lara Croft, you will know that she wants it on display somewhere inside her home, the Croft mansion. Lara's adversaries include thugs, skilled snipers, intelligent mercenaries and these are also searching for the dagger. She will also battle ferocious beasts, monsters and finally the dragon, the guardian of the dagger. Such enemies are spread nicely through a variety of tombs and exotic locales. Lara will visit Venice, a floating island, the Himilayan mountains and finally the Dragon's Lair.

CONS: There are so few bugs or problems with the game that they are not worth a mention.

FINAL VERDICT: This is one of the finest games of all time, though it is just beaten by the recent Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb. If you like games and/or girls this is the game for you. Buy now and have fun with Lara!

Very well done and put together sequel

I have to say, there were a few levels in the original Tomb Raider that were slightly boring, it was still a good, challenging game though. This second one was is just superb.

The graphics have improved a lot and the animation is much smoother. Lara also responds to key commands better too. Plus, Lara no longer has her hair tied up. It swings around depending on what she's doing. More weapons have been added including harpoon guns for use underwater and heavy machine guns and explosives. She can climb and wade in water now too. She comes in different clothings depending on which area you are in.

Now don't think that this game was popular because of the our female character, Lara Croft. This game in itself is fun and addictive. I can't really find a single level that was really that dull. I think maybe perhaps a few of the tibet levels were a bit of a mess. Other than that, the Venice and Underwater levels were fun and fascinating. This game doesn't do as much tomb raiding as the first game did. In fact, you only go tomb raiding near the end of the game. However you do get to explore a sunken ship, so i guess that's tomb-like. It's still a good game. The levels look as though they have all been thought out and carefull designed.

I don't quite understand how some people cannot stand the puzzles and action in the game. If you're hoping this is another Doom, Heretic, Hexen, or Quake game, then you'll be disappointed. In no way is this a game where u mindlessly blow people away with gunfire. Tomb Raider 2 is a fun non-violent game with minimal amounts of blood. Those who enjoy shooting and killing creatures without much thinking and challenge involved can go play their doom games. This is something different and probably much better.

They just keep getting better, and better.

This is the first TR game I ever played, and its still my favorite of all of them. Although I am a little spoiled by the newer games, what with Lara's new and improved moves and all. this one still rocks!
Tomb Raider II takes Miss Croft to China, Venice, and even the bottom of an ocean liner the Maria Doria among other places. Woah!
This is a worthy sequel though. A few minutes worth of play and you'll forget how old the technonlgy is. You'll just be wrapped up in the game, and its exciting storyline.
Among the more maddening levels are: the Opera House, 40 Fathoms, and the Temple of X'ian, which is incredibly loooong.
I just love the way Tomb Raider, not just this one but all of them, coencides with geographical places. Its awseome man!
Anyway, this is a game that is just completely out-of-this-world-great, that you should own. Its just the best.

This is a very good game. It should not be rated teen because there is alot of adventure in it. But there is alot of blood and gor. There is also alot of guns and it looks like you are killing real people. I would recomend this game for 11 and up to play this game. This game is pretty cool to play. This is my reveiw on Tomb Raider 2.

Tomb Raider 2 was pure genius. From the Great Wall of China to Venice to the depths of the ocean to the snow-capped mountains and back to the Great Wall of China again, this game was a pure blast of ground-breaking excitement.

You first start the game in a very simple, yet lo-o-ong level inside the Great Wall of China. This was the first Tomb Raider level I ever beat. It took me a week to beat it, but I beat it all right. I must say, it was a very good idea to make that the first level. Venice, the next level, was a bit harder, but I could beat it thanks to the confidence boost from the first level.

Truth be told, you do not end the game with a dragon. Nope, there's more where that came from, and they've even followed you to your house to prove it! Yep, you get to go inside Lara's home and fight baddies while doing the assault course. Sound like fun?

Tomb Raider 2 has to be one of the best Tomb Raiders of all time. I suggest picking it up. It is worth it, I promise.
