Baseball at its finest!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 1 / 2

I was a little scared to purchase this title because I've been burned by almost every baseball game I've ever played. They've all been so complicated and over thought that I can't even get a base hit nevertheless win a game. Fortunately 2K decided to release this title! I love the camera angles, the pitching system, the batter's eye (it's like a built-in mini-game), the team customization, etc. This game hit a homerun in my book! Happy gaming!!!

Huge upgrade from 2k6!!

The game has amazing in-game features this year, and the levels of difficulty help you adapt to the style. A lot of the features are the same, with Career and Franchise mode being very capable of whatever you want. The Create-a-player feature is very much improved and so is batting.
The best improvement is with pitching, and the AI is phenomenal. Definitely buy this game!

Very Good Game AGAIN!!!

EA needs to make the baseball game for the 360

I'm a huge baseball game fanatic. I used to have a PS 2 and played all the EA Sport games (i.e.: all the MVP, The Show, etc), and thought they were awesome. I then bought a 360 and eagerly awaited the 2K7 release. I was completely disappointed. This is why

· Frustrated with base running - Trying to make a double or even a triple seems impossible.

· The controls are sloppy - when you try and hit it out of the park sometime the guy will do a dragging bunt. Makes you want to pull your hair out.

· The outfield doesn't do what you tell them.

The graphics are good, but the overall control is awful. I will never buy a 2K game again. If you still want the game after reading this I strongly suggest renting it first.

MLB 2k7 is a good game not great but good. The Graphics are very suprising i didnt think that they could get that much better. The gameplay is a lot of fun tho it is extremely frustraitin when your shortstop, second, frist baseman over or under run the ball which happends quite ofter. Pitching is a struggle if you are not used to the controls your pitcher may give up to as many as 10 runs in just a couple innings if he gets rattled right away by the opposing team. Overall this game is a lot of fun if you are looking for a good sports game.

Great but not quite there

Okay, I am a huge MVP fan, so I was weary of how this game would be. But it is amazing. I actually bought the Xbox version first, played it, liked it, and then I tried the 360 version. Now I have the 360 and my Xbox is on the way to someones house via online bidding. This game is not perfect, but it is much better than last year and well worth the money. I just wish I could stop playing Gears of War to enjoy this more.

this game is aethesticaly beautiful on high def. the player models are awesome and the game is a joy to watch. gameplay is solid, and you can customize your/AI game to have a virtually competitive game every time you play. 2k sports listened to all the complaints last year and delivered unlike madden.

I am not a big baseball fan; however, I do enjoy playing the video game of baseball. The last baseball game I bought was MVP 2006, which I enjoyed very much. I decided to try out this game for my xbox 360, since EA no longer does MLB. After about a week, here are my thoughts:

Pros
1. Obviously, the graphics are great.
2. the subtleties are good, such as a player dusting himself off after he slides, the crowd standing up when a foul ball comes their way.
3. the commentary is fantastic. there are only a few repeats.

Cons: (I know some of these have been posted before.)
1. while the commentary is good, it lags sometimes, such as, the pitch is already on the way, and the announcer is saying that the pitcher kicks.
2. even without a lot of players on the field, the game will lag a little. My right fielder was chasing after the ball and then it went into slow motion
3. some of the camera views stink. it makes it tough to field the ball at times. the ball is going to right field, but yet, the camera focuses on the base runner.
4. base running is confusing. is it right trigger, right bumper? i do know that right and left trigger control the lead runner, but what if there is more than one man on base?
5. fielding controls are bad. at least give me an arrow to indicate which outfielder i have control of when the ball is going to the outfield. sometimes it does do this, but the majority of the time it does not.
6. the batting (there is the hit stick thing, and the classic just by hitting the a button) hit stick is good in theory, but I find myself doing a lot of check swings. In order to combat this, i hold the right stick between my thumb and forefinger so i don't accidentally try to bunt.
7. is it just me or have the rosters not been updated since april?

I do enjoy playing the game, but it just doesn't have that unable to put down factor to it. I'll be playing it though, at least until ncaa football 08 comes out.

Home Run King Not Included

Why does the MLB only allow 2k7 to be the official and only baseball game on the market and then they don't include Barry Bonds? The very first game I played was "SF vs Anaheim" and I was extremely disappointed that one of my favorite players isn't available. Oh, but I can put the dead Mickey Mantle on the Giants in his place?

Nothing new, but still a fun game

Bettter than last year's try-out for the Xbox 360.
The game could and should have been improved for the 360 using all the possible and lastest tech advancements that the 360 uses.
The graphics are good, the gane play is all right.
Rent this game first and then make your own choice as to buy this game..
