When i read IGNs review for this, I was kinda iffy about whether or not to buy it. I havent had a baseball game since MVP 05 since I am not a big fan of college baseball since I had a ps2 before my 360. i was very impressed. the 1 thing that kinda struck me is how the crowd reacts to nothing. i threw a no-hitter and hit a grand slam and the crowd sounded the same the whole game. that aside, this game is awesome. franchise mode is deep and the graphics are stellar. sure everyone doesnt look like themselves, but no one is perfect...ill be playing this game for quite a while. GO PHILLIES!

Dodgers Look Good on the XBox 360!

Well, after having bought my last baseball game from EA Sports back in 2005 I wanted a new game that was "updated" for my recently purchased Xbox 360... and I must admit that this game from 2K Sports is really nice. I would like for the game to have more options as far as game play. (I was a huge fan of the old Hardball game back in the day when I was using my 286 Packard Bell). I would like to play more as a manager and direct the players to either bunt, hit & run, etc... and have the automatic fielding (which can be a little tedious in 2K7). I also miss the Minor League aspects that MVP 2005 gave us... as well as a feature that can serve as a tutorial for both hitting and pitching... but aside from these personal requests, this game is enjoyable.

Go Dodgers!!!

Just a few glitches

Overall this is a fun game to play. The pitching is strategic and the hitting though challenging is fun. The fielding leaves alot to be desired. Going for routine plays ends up extra base hits it seems at the worst possible times and the other team robbing home runs seems to happen every game.

Good, not great

Overall, this is a good game. There are a few things that happen frequently that are pretty annoying. The major one is outfielders climbing the wall and making spectacular catches way too frequently. The other annoying thing is during the pregame the camera always focuses on a blimp or a full moon (is there a full moon every night of the year?). why not show a panorama of the stadium you're playing at. who wants to stare 15 seconds at a blimp?

that's the negative. on to the positive. great graphics, great gameplay, an in-depth franchise mode and not-too-repetitive game-calling by John Miller & Joe Morgan are all pluses. if they'd get rid of those 2 annoying details, this would be a great game.

Pretty good game

Pretty good game with good 'replayability' factor. Gameplay is excellent and there are many unique batting stances and pitching windups for star players

However, the learning curve is a bit higher than others as some controls are more complex and hitting is especially difficult when you play it for the first few times, but you should get used to it. Was also disappointed that Dice-K was not in the game (he is instead disguised as 'Dennis Miles') and Kei Igawa is 'Keith Irwin'. Also, in Legend mode, sometimes when pitching you get especially roughed up even when you throw on target using a star pitcher. And sometimes they will hit home runs even if you throw off the plate.

With regards to the poster below, I agree with the wall climbing, which is sometimes too frequent. However, I'm pretty sure that the reason for the blimp/moon is to speed up load time. Showing the stadium would require more processing to display and the game would take alot more time to load.

All in all, a good game, although not a 'must buy'.

Prepare to lose sleep

This is by far the best sports game I have ever played. Once you master your pitching and hitting skills, which will take many games to do, you will definitely be losing some sleep. Enter the franchise mode and enjoy every moment of building your favorite team into a world champion.

Excellent game!! But beware of faulty originals!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The game is exciting, until you get to the playoffs and are unable to play them, Why??? Don't ask me or the people at 2K7 Sports, cause they don't answer!!!!!! Shame that I got burnt, hope the experience is not the same for you guys out there. I bought my game here in Amazon and I read some guy's review about having the same problem but I still didn't expect to be one of the unlucky stupids.

Great product in a shallow market

Great game overall. A little buggy in spots. Don't exactly care for some of the interface in GM Mode. Dramatically changes batting lineups on you if one player gets hurt. Overall a nicely delivered game though. I would like to see a little more personalization to the Career mode.

Too many homers

I can't get past the fact that when I play this game head to head with my son, he either strikes out or hits a home run. When you hit for power and you connect you are pretty much guaranteed to hit it out of the park. It doesn't seem to matter what the team is, who the batter is, or who the pitcher is, it is way too easy to hit a home run. There is very little fielding in this game because of this. I have even tried adjusting the difficulty settings, but that made no difference. The amount of homers completely ruins this game for me.

My favorite sports game ever.
