I played this game for the fist time when i waz 4. it was kinda old by then, but i still loved it!! i remember playing all 4 games for hours!! when super mario advance came out on GBA, i saw it had my favorite from this game: Super Matio Bros. 2!! when i played it on GBA though, there were diferences that i didn't like as much. also, with 4 GREAT games, if you get sick of one game, save, and go to the menu, and switch the game. this is a must have for people who have super nintendos!!!!

Whether or not you have previously played the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) versions of these classic games, you've probably heard of the great influence that they made on all games since their release; Super Mario Bros. and it's sequels 2 and 3 (this collection also includes previously Japan-only release of the Lost Levels).
The original Super Mario Bros. still remains as one of the most difficult games I have ever played; sure, once you uncover the secret passages you can warp to the final world, World 8...but, how about trying to play from the beginning to the end, without warping? Not a simple task! After practice, of course, you become more skilled at the game...But, even still, it is definitely not easy! Super Mario Bros. 2 is incredibly different than the first; it has a bizarre plot, improved and interesting graphics, and can be quite challenging if you try to play from the beginning without warping to the end. Super Mario Bros. 3 is probably the funnest game featured on this collection; the levels are well-designed and packed with coins to collect, a myriad of enemies to battle, and different "power-ups" that your character can collect to change into Raccoon Mario, Frog Mario, Tanuki Mario etc. (each with their own unique abilities). Super Mario Bros. 3 even rivals the original in difficulty. The Lost Levels was the Japanese sequel to the original, which was never before released in America (because it was "too difficult"). I can understand why Nintendo might've hesitated releasing it here; it is far more frustrating than the original (or the other games in the series, for that matter). It is good to try out for a challenge, though.
The most beneficial feature of this collection is that it lets you save your progress after you advance to the next world; on the NES versions of these games, you could not save at all and (if you lost) you would have to start over from the beginning! This is incredibly helpful if you don't feel like playing for hours in succession trying to beat one of the games; you could just save and come back later. One problem that I have, though, is that the graphics of each of the games has been "improved" for the Super Nintendo graphic style. I'll admit that they're easier on the eyes than the NES versions (the colors aren't as bright and they blend together better; some of the backgrounds and characters styles are different, too), but I wish they would of kept the original graphics the same. However, these games are so important to the history of video games as a whole, I don't think that this really detracts much from playing the games on this collection.
Overall, I think that these are brilliant classics that anyone who enjoys playing video games should own. Super Mario All-Stars makes it easy to have all the originals in one single collection!

I would have given it 50 stars if I could!!!! This is a great game, well 5 games actually. It has the classic 8-bit Super Mario Brothers that started on the NES. It also Super Mario Brothers 2 and 3, Super Mario World, and the unreleased The Lost Levels. All the graphics have been improved from all the original games and the music is great! This is definitely one of the best games of all time and one of my favorites. I recommend this to any one whos loves Mario or side-scrollers.

All-Stars is a collection of the first 3 Mario Bros. titles, originally released on NES. Nintendo was smart to re-release these for the SNES, and bring them to another generation of gamers. I also appreciate the fact they're all on one cartridge, but if they weren't, i'de still buy each individual game. It's jus that good!!!

This will be the best game completion out there

Where Else can you get four classic mario games in one big great game pack. This is probably the best Mario game ever made. Too bad they couldn've done this for Donkey Kong Country. This is a sweet pack.

If you liked this game check out all of The Super Mario Bros. games

Dandy if you don't want to use an old NES.

I traded this game and the person I traded it to got ripped off by himself and gave Zelda: A Link to the Past and Illusion of Gaia. If you have a NES and all of these games, I don't reccomend it. If you're in it for The Lost Levels and haven't gotten Super Mario Bros DX it may be useful. The good thing is you can save your progress because you can't really beat these in one sitting and all of the games are compiled together. The graphics are improved but what old school gamer cares about graphics? The SNES controller is nice though and gives better control. If you have a SNES and don't want a NES this is great but if you have a NES and all of these games rent it first if you find someone who still has the SNES classics. I personally feel its overrated in a way.

any of these games alone would have made me buy this

I really enjoyed playing Super Mario Brothers 3.I used to play it all the time on the original Nintendo system.I then decided to give away my Nintendo system and get a Super Nintendo system.I thought that I would never ever be able to play Super Mario 3 again. But with the SNES came a game called Mario Allstars. Not only did it have Super Mario 3,it also had all the other Mario games, including a new one.I have played all these games ever since the first day I got an SNES,and I'am still not tired of it.The best game on here of course is Mario Brothers 3.As a matter of fact,it is the most funnest game of all time. All the Mario games on Mario Allstars are really fun.If you feel like playing any classic video games, then play Super Mario Allstars. And if you don't have an SNES system, they now sell for [a low price],so get one now.

Peace Out.

Super Mario All Stars was awesome! You got every NES Mario on this one, Super Mario Bros, Super Mario 2 and Super Mario 3 and then you also got the Lost Levels which was pretty cool as well.

Granted yes by this time, you had already played and hopefully beat the Mario's but this time around you could do one thing that you could never do before and that was save games! Plus all 3 looked dramatically better because of the graphics up grade.

This is a must get for anyone from yuoug gamers to older gamers and Mario fans to non Mario fans because I can almost assure you that if you weren't a Matio fan to begin with, you soon will be after you play this one!

YOU CANNOT GO WRONG!

Likely to be the most collectable video game in the world. I know I wouldn't be without it. I love all the games even Mario Bros. 2, which gets the most mixed reviews of the SMB series. And if I could underline LOVE I would. If you cannot find the version which contains Super Mario World just purchase that seperate. This is so HUGE who would have thought that there was room for improvement. I'll take Mario in any form. Truly a masterwork.
