a great game

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 1 / 1

this is by far the best out of all the delta force series. i have all 3 or them and it runs the smoothest and looks the best.

its +'s: 1. much smoother and better than the other 2 2. the missions are fun to play over and over and you can improve your tactics 3. you are able to save your game so you dont have to start over if you have to quit 4. the new weapons are great

altho it does have its glitches.... 1. unlike delta force 2, it doesnt have grass and the landscape "waves" at you altho that is what kindo of slaowed down df2 2. the guns look cartoonish and dont act realistic. 3. all bullets you shoot at a person goes through them even though it wont kill someone behind them (with the exceptions of the sniper rifles and a few others) 4. the enemy soldiers are complete idiots even when on hard 5. if you save a game you can change your weapon loaduot and load your game and you will have your new weapons

Very Good Game...... Highly Reccomended

OK, Heres the deal: DF is a great game. The best FPS I have seen out there. Good Graphics, excellent multiplayer. What else could you ask for? Well, I would certainly like better AI. I mean, a huge war is going on outside, and one terrorist sits in the shack adn chills. I walk in, and he...ate...grenade. Also, an enemy soilder can die from a shot in the leg. Thats right, enemy soilders DIE froma simple shot in the LEG! Please, NovaLogic, make some stronger soilders. Overall, an exellent game-- Highly Reccomended.

Fantastic game, Money Well Spent

This game is getting a little old now, but the fun is just non-stop. Choose your missions, roles, etc. I like the role of sniper, but you can pretty much choose any role you'd want. Graphics are pretty good, but when this game was released in 2000, it was quite impressive at the time. Gameplay is fantastic, and they got ballistics down very well. Having to adjust your rifle scope to make that 500 yard shot is pretty cool, especially when you can see the sparks when your bullets hit a solid object and "pink mist" when you hit your target. One of the thrilling aspects of this game is playing in wide open country. You're going to be hiking and running over hills, through fields, lakes, streams, etc. How sick are you of shooting monsters in tunnels? Tis game will certainly cure you're craving for outdoor, long-distance shooting at enemies. Weaponds are accurate, realistic, and abundant. The sheer number of different weapons to choose from are a pure joy that most games lack. Nothing like that .50 cal Barret sniper rifle!

What happened with this one!?

I'm an avid gamer, and first person shooters are by far my favorite genre. I loved both Delta Force and Delta Force 2, so naturally I thought that Delta Force:Land Warrior would be the next logical step to greatness. I wasn't TOTALLY mistaken, however it is safe to say that I was disappointed. My goal is to make sure that other followers of the Delta Force series don't make the same mistake. First of all, check out the screenshots for this game. They look great don't they!? Well I've got news; the real graphics don't look half that sharp. A grenade blast in this game looks like the graphics from the original Nintendo...that's right, the 16-bit system. In my opinion, I exaggerate not. There are, in fact, a wide variety of weapons, however they are far from realistic. The silenced MP-5 is indiscernable, and looks more like a stick than a gun. 3rd-Person view looks spectacular in the screen shots that Amazon put up, however the real graphics will show that the soldiers are unproportional and unrealistic looking. I simply can not comprehend how game programmers allow themselves to slack off so much after creating two very top-quality games. The military strategy element is the one bright spot for this game, as there are truly no limits to each level. I often found myself crawling for a thousand meters just so I could get behind my enemy for a shot with my Barret .50-cal. In this sense, there is great replayability. Missions can be completed in an infinite number of ways, and so this game is more of a time killer. Overall, if you're looking for a game to beat in a couple of days, or if you simply need to feel the rush of an FPS while you're waiting for all the fantastic November-release games to come out, then buy this. If you loved the other Delta Force games, then you should also buy this. However, don't have high expectations coming in to the game, as I did. You'll be disappointed.

Does this game rock? I don't know.... Wish I did.

I felt obligated to write my experiences regarding DFLW. Is it a good game? I don't know. My PC meets or exceeds all requirements, but it HARD CRASHes every time I try to load a mission. ANY mission. Support from Novalogic? Well.... Let me put it this way: ME: Novalogic, please help. This game crashes my PC whenever I try to load any mission. It gives me a blue screen error pointing to a file associated with my video card, a Savage/IX. I'm running Win2K, SP1, etc., etc. Half Life, Counter Strike, Quake 3, etc. all work flawlessly on this PC. Novalogic: Upload latest drivers for your video card. ME: Ok, but how do you know I don't have the latest? Novalogic: Make sure the drivers are certified with DirectX. Use dxdiag.exe to be sure. ME: Ok. Everything shows certified. Still crashes. Novalogic: Turn off virus scanning and all other programs running. Load DirectX 8.0a (they sent DirectX 7 on the CD). ME: Ok. Still crashes. Novalogic: Upload newest drivers, bios, VIA AGP hot fix, etc. ME: Ok. Still crashes. Here is the error exactly --->XXXXXXX<--- Novalogic: Upload newest drivers, bios, VIA AGP hot fix, etc. ME: Already did, please help. Novalogic:

The point being: if you have the chance, test this game on your system first. Just because your PC meets the requirements, doesn't mean it's going to work and Novalogic will blame your PC. They'll stall you by having you run around for newer drivers (for no reason they can back up) and not offer you any support. You want my opinion? Buy Half Life Counter Strike for online play. Sierra typically backs up what they sell....

Really Fun Game when playing on the NET!

I am new to the world of PC Internet Gaming, so I don't have a frame of reference of a bunch of other PC Games to stack Delta Force:Land Warrior against, however I am a veteran gamer and I do know a fun game when I have played one.

Delta Force: Land Warrior is just an average shooter if playing this game by yourself. The real fun with this game, comes with the internet play. With the wide assortment of weapons, scopes and Night Vision and cool 3-D terrain, this is as close to actual warfare as you are going to get.

How you choose to play is entirely your choice, whether you prefer the aggressive run and shoot stance, or if you prefer to hang back and pick people off as a sniper, or lob grenades from a hard to see position. Either way this game requires some skill, and it isn't one that you will be instantly good at. It requires lots of practice, and patience.

Anyone that has played paintball before will likely enjoy this game, as it requires a lot of the same skills and stealth tactics as paintball warfare.

Bottomline, if you are looking for a good war like game, that you want to enjoy with your friends, Delta Force: Land Warrior is a definite hit, and at [money], it is definitely a good value.

Recommended!!

Don't bother with this game

You may think this game is the best first person shooter of the year. Or you may think that this game totall sucks and is horrible. I'm closer to thinking this game totally sucks. Here's why:

Don't get me wrong or anything, the graphics to everything kicks any game I've ever played, but there is a mess to the actual gameplay.

The AI sucks. Big time. Everytime I go into a room with 4 or 5 guys, the realize I'm about to blow their heads off and look at me. But they don't start shooting until 4 or 5 seconds has passed, even when you shoot at them! And another thing, when you are far away and enemys are lined up, even if your crawling, the start firing like mad, sometimes without one sniper tower gaurding the area.

Another thing is the game time. There are only 15 missions to do so it's not worth your money. Not to mention that your pretty much hopeless in this game without using cheats. You don't have to do it at first, but one level at least 10 guys were sniping from this bulding and they all saw me and killed me within 3 seconds, no exageration. Do me a favor and don't buy this stupid game.

Novalogic should've stopped with Delta Force 2

Delat 2 had everything I could ask for, lots of action, weapons terrain, everything. It was an improvement over Delta 1 by having slightly simpler keyboarding as well as the ability to blow more things up and a couple of hidden battles if you knew how to unlock them.
Too bad Novalogic had to throw it all away, changing just about everything. I haven't played it yet, CD-ROM drive troubles, but the layout, graphics and just about everything else have been changed.
My copy is I guess what would be called a reissue with the smaller box, it came with the Cd in a paper envelope, not a jewel case, and no instruction booklet (a shame as you don't use the keyboard exactly as you do in the first Delta's but more like the fourth one).
I'm done with Novalogic.
