Monotonous

Yes, the graphics are great. Yes, it's fun to play as a hitman. The controls are different from most other FPS but they are manageable. The AI can be a toss up at times. So what's my complaint that led me to giving this game one star? HITMAN DOES NOT HAVE A SAVE GAME FEATURE. Some of the maps are rather long and you will end up playing them from the beginning over and over and over and over and over and over and over . . . repeating the same tasks each time, even during the opening tutorial. Since there are only 10 or 12 levels in the game this is probably an attempt to make the game appear longer. Shame on IO Interactive for ruining what could have been a great game. Unless your mental capacity is limited to that of a gold fish whose every swim around the bowl is a new adventure, this game is not for you.

I downloaded the demo of this game, and it was one of the most interesting games; From the graphics to the reactions of the fictional charaters. If your still not convinced download the demo, and I am sure you will buy it!!!!

No perks other than realism

Never having heard of this game, I must say that I was excited to begin playing. (How can a game where you portray a hitman go wrong.) But immediately after beginning gameplay I realized that this game was somewhat of a disapointment. I have to admit the graphics and sound effects were good, but the dull settings and boring gameplay ruined it for me. At times I found myself wondering streets aimlessly searching for some type of meaning within the stages even after having had read the objectives. I don't consider myself to be an incompotent regarding games, but this game was entirely too strict as to how and in what order you complete levels. (Expect to repeat levels more than several times in order to appease the program gods.) There are no savegames within levels so if you are an unfortunate, and make a minute mistake, you go through the whole boring process once again.(From beginning of level.) I give the game creaters credit for attempting to create a game with some realism, but if you are looking for a great third person shooter I reccomend you try "Max Payne."

good concept, mediocre execution

The concept is great, but the game stumbles on several points. A couple points have been well-covered (third-person view is clumsy;
too much of the game depends on figuring out what the game designers wanted you to do); in addition, there's:

1) often the puzzles are logically inconsistent. At one point you have to kill a limo driver, but later on the limo is driven off -- by WHO??? In another level, you have to pretend to be a guy working at a club, so you can get to a point to also pretend to be a patron of the club.

2) The game consists of a series of assassinations. Each one requires planning to get the job done, which is reasonable; but often the planning requires information that can only be found by playing the level then losing, then playing the level again. This is kind of missing the point of the planning parts of the game. It's not really "planning" when all your doing is playing then finding out what doesn't work.

3) You can't save in the middle of a level. This is annoying enough, but it's really annoying when you're in the middle of a level then the game crashes.

A Great Game, but not as good as Hitman 2.

This is most definetely a great game. It nails originality, and the graphics are very good for when the game was released. However, if fans of Hitman 2 are going to backtrack, they will run into some problems. The sequel (on PS2) allowed you to switch between first and trird-person perpectives, this one is all third person. Because of that, camera problems do arise. Second of all, Hitman 2 was on 3 major consoles, so it reached out to a different audience. Those who prefer console gaming, or are used to playing Hitman on PS2 will notice that a keyboard and mouse does not help the controls, but actually hurts them. It is a great game, but you will probably enjoy it more if you haven't been spoiled by Hitman 2.

HITMAN IS WORTH THE $KILL$!!!

...At least 25 weapons, able to take "corpse clothing", strangling and slitting throats, and many scenes of you pumping some major lead!!!! You know what, don't trust me, buy it...

Bugs and Thugs

First problem: More bugs then a dirty house. No ingame save makes it an utter test of futility. I also had problems when using the scope on the rifle and the binoculars. No matter how I tried, I couldn't make the character drop it, so I was stuck with having to turn off the game and open it back up, hench starting at the same stage and figuring out how to complete the mission without the sniper rifle or binoculars. Second problem: Some of the missions lead to confusion, no matter what you try, nothing seems to work (as in the second mission at the resturant.). But all in all, it was a good game, if you like figure out ways to kill people with piano wires, knives and guns without being arrested. Wait until the price goes down, then you won't feel as bad when you give up in frustration and throw it in the pile of other games that you haven't finished yet.

is it just another shooter ? Nop, it isn't

When i first read about the game i read SHOTER , so i think it was like all the other shoters games, but it is not. This is a excelent game, you have a lot of cool devices, like piano-wire , car bombs, sniper rifles, and all kind of guns. When U r in a mission you must think every move you will do, cuz a false move and U r death, if U aim your gun then kill the enemy with a shot or let them kill you with a lot of shots. This is the kind od game where a quick brain is better than a quick finger in the trigger. If you like games like thief, metal gear, then i am sure you will like this one.

A thinking man's shoot-em-up

I'm not normally one for the Doom, Quake, Wolfenstein, Half-Life genre of games, but I've fallen absolutely head over heels for Hitman. For once, here's a FPS that forces you to make strategic decisions and does not rely wholly on wanton bloodshed. Great graphics, challenging puzzles, decent storylines, smooth gameplay. If you're tired of shooting mutant zombies and looking for the "Blue Key", try Hitman for a breath of fresh air.
