Hey, im only on mission 3 an di cannot believe how amazing the game is. If the difficulty of the first two missions is a foreshadow of what is to come then i shall be playing this game until im old and gray... (a couple monthes). I sat on the roof top(of the book depository) and i shot out the negotiator of an asian mafia... then i bolted away to my car and made a clean getaway... but not at first... i got spotted by the chopper and took him out, then i got chased by the rest of the goons. I still beat the mission but i found myself playing it over and over again to see if i could get away clean and free. I won't spoil ANYTHING else because not only is the game play and idea orginal and great.... but so is the STORY.... read all that your comp has to offer.... well hope this was helpful... i would write more about how great it is but you internet people have a short reading attention span... lol.... Don't believe the hype.

I'm not sure who's writing the reviews for this game, but I suspect they are friends or family of the developers. This game has so many AI flaws that it makes it nearly impossible to enjoy. Bottom line, the enemies are stupid. They rush into rooms to attack you but they don't attack. Instead they stand there for 5-10 seconds with their guns aimed at you. Making them pretty much pistol fodder. The game is very easy to beat, even on the hard setting. The puzzles are pretty simple to figure out. The plus side of this game are the superb level designs. Though the engine really isn't suited for a Metal Gear Solid type game. I find the controls to be pretty clunky. It takes about three or four keyboard and mouse commands to even pull a gun out. Huh? I would wait till the price comes down on this one. It's fun for about the first 3 or 4 hours but after that it starts to lose it's edge.

Realstic, when you want it to be.

I bought the demo. I am looking deeply into buying the game. So, your a hitman. You know hired to kill certian, and most oftenly important people. Okay for instance there is a fish shop, down in china town. Your hired to take out some military man. You have to follow certian orders, try not be supscious. Try not pulling out your gun when somone is looking. If he sees you, plain and simply shoot him. You even get silencers, so people on the other side of the town can't hear you. You have a wire, that is the way to go. Hide the bodies, in seweres, arch around corners. Walk, run. Buy, take, steal, kill, hide. Jump. It's a really good game. You can even set your gore meter. So if you want it all gory or not. You also can set what your computer can handle, graphic wise. I'd suggest this game to anyone myself. Going with the age barrier of course. But if you want a challange, because it is. If you get caught doing something your not supposed to be doing. You could easily loose the hole mission, and get no cash to buy some good weapons. So try it out, It's really fun, and it's just like you really are a 'Hitman'!

Maybe I'm a moron, though. I loved Dues Ex by Eidos, as well as other FPS like Undying and Alice. After about the 20th time getting thrown back in the start room on the first level, despite following the cheat guide step by step (plus, no way to save mid-level), I've given up.

If you find a way past the first training level, I hear the game is really clever. I'm not able to do it. Too bad, I really wanted this one to be cool.

Shame on the developers. Most people would have told them what I have, if they'd listened.

OK, I give up. I consider myself an experienced gamer. I've played Deus Ex, all three Thief games, and just finished Max Payne which was insanely fun and exciting. I own at least 25 adventure and FPS games. What a disappointment Hit Man is. I struggled my way to the 4th mission, and after two whole days of repeating the same thing over and over again, I quit. How could Eidos make a game like this with no save game function??? How many times do they expect people to repeat an entire (difficult) level from the beginning?? On mission 4, I finally made it all the way to completing all 4 tasks, and then when I could not make it to the escape boat, I was booted all the way back to start again for the umpteenth time. In addition, handling weapons takes so many mouse clicks that you are shot dead before you can even get armed. Graphics and sound are OK but not good enough to compensate for all the short falls. I am all for a challange, but when it stops being any fun at all, I feel ripped off. Buy this game if you want to feel the same way. It is nothing but an excercise in frustration. I gave it 2 stars for "fun" because if only Eidos had used their brains and allowed for saves, this could have been a great FPS game on a par with the ones I mentioned. As is, it sucks. Gamers, be warned!

Amazing, simply amazing.

How is this game even possible? Brilliant AI, stuning visiuals, life like animations, and best of all, mission elements riped straight out of the all my favorite Hong Kong and Hollywood movies. The depth and startegy involed simply amazes me. The only gripe I have is the lack of in mission saves but this minor flaw doesn't hurt the game much.

Thank god I am a PC owner. Forget about all the other wanna-bes like Project IGN, Rouge Spears, Delta Force, SpecOps, and Hidden and Dangerous. This game toped them all! Do yourself a big favor and buy this game.

For a 2000 game the graphics look good, but the gameplay is very original-its an "Assasin Stealth FPS" game thats exclusive to the PC,Although i think it should have came out on PlayStation or PS2(As a launch game). Its never been recognised as a "Competitor" to Metal Gear Solid despite being in the same genre, this game stood a chance against MGS.
In Hitman you play as a very dangerous man,a hitman who has been cloned from 5 of the Globe`s most notorious crime king-pins as a "Take no [...] from anybody" style man-His name is simply Agent 47,who is paid tops to go out and kill certain people using stealth or disguises-Very dark, seedy storyline but its a very good one also.
Hitman pros and cons:

Pros:
-Great storyline
-Great character
-Nice Stealth elements
-Good gameplay
-Nice graphics for a 2000 game

Cons:
-Sometimes awkward controlls
-Forced Third Person elements are forced aswell.
-Its a little short.
I rate it 8.6/10(86%) as a GREAT game!

Y`know most of the time original games are said to be better then their sequels?-well thats not the case for the Hitman series as i think Hitman 2:Silent Assasin and Hitman:Contracts are so much better than Hitman,I think Hitman:Blood Money will be the best Hitman game!

goodbye:
